#Xinhua Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Tibet Travel Guide
Before going to Tibet, be sure to prepare a good travel plan👇🏼.
✅About Transportation
🚞If you take the train, I suggest you depart from Xining on z6811, because the scenery is great and the journey is short, 22 hours to Lhasa, so there's no need to scramble for tickets on those few popular trains
✈️Direct flights to Lhasa, many people say they don't recommend this, but actually, it's not a big deal, whether you get altitude sickness or not is completely a matter of personal psychology
✅About Accommodation
🏨It is recommended to stay near Potala Palace Square or Barkhor Street, Pincuo Kangsang View Hotel and Xinhua Hotel are both good

‼️Precautions
1️⃣In Tibet, be sure to carry your ID card with you, without an ID card you can hardly move, you can't go anywhere
2️⃣Rhodiola and other altitude sickness medicines are not very useful, just bring oral glucose solution
3️⃣Do a good job of sun protection, bring sunglasses, the ultraviolet rays in Tibet are very strong
4️⃣For group tours, it is recommended to join through a major platform, don't join large groups, spend a little more money to join a small group of six people, it's also more enjoyable
5️⃣Before going to Yamdrok Lake, people will sell oxygen cylinders, a few hundred for one, to be honest, it's really not necessary to buy, don't be brainwashed
6️⃣It is recommended not to take hard seats directly, it's too tiring and can easily lead to altitude sickness, sleeper carriages also have various flag-raising and signing ceremonies
7️⃣When going to Basum Lake, you must take a boat ride!!! The whole journey is 40 minutes, and this boat ticket is not included in the group tour fee, 180💰/person
8️⃣In Lhasa city, don't miss the overpass near the Potala Palace, it's very photogenic📸

Discover Lhasa's Hidden Free Attractions—Don't Miss Out on Checking Them In
🧭Today, Shandao recommends the Lhasa River Water Conservancy Scenic Area, an absolutely free attraction with a great location. It's just a ten-minute walk to Barkhor Street and Potala Palace Square.
🗻The Lhasa River, the mother river of Lhasa, stands quietly in the embrace of the city like an elegant lady. With her graceful figure, she showcases the charm of nature.
👣The clear river water, like her eyes, sparkles with crystal-clear light; the lush vegetation, like her hair, gently sways in the wind.
🗣Standing by the river, one can feel the slow passage of time, as if in a secluded fairyland. Looking out at the glittering river, a sense of peace and harmony spontaneously arises in one's heart.
💐Crossing the river, you'll see the Potala Palace, perched atop Red Hill, standing solemnly like a guardian, witnessing the vicissitudes of Lhasa. In front of the Jokhang Temple, the devout prostrate themselves, their faith and perseverance inspiring awe.
👉Shandao's travel tip is to choose a clear morning or dusk when the sunlight gently blankets the earth. Stroll along the banks of the Lhasa River, listen to the murmuring water, and feel the breath of nature.
🏔Or, you could bring a beloved book and sit on the grass by the river, enjoying the tranquility and comfort.
🚩This is the unique way to travel in 'Slow Lhasa.'
🧭As for scheduling, Shandao believes that here, every day can be spent slowly, as picturesque as a poem.
💮Of course, if it's your first time in Lhasa and you want to explore more attractions, then taking a short time out of a two to three-day itinerary to visit here would be a good choice.

Aje's final stop on the Sichuan-Tibet line, Lhasa, is finally here. Why don't I write the process in order? Because I'm really too busy, I don't have time to fix the previous pictures, and Lhasa is really too beautiful, the weather here doesn't need to add filters to see the whole Potala Palace every day.
UP! I recommend several main photo spots in Lhasa to everyone.
The first place is Potala Palace Square, where you can learn to pour water and take a reflection.
The second is the Yaowang Mountain Viewing Platform, which is now free, and you can take big pictures without a ticket. There are a lot of people, you need to find your own position, I recommend the platform below, because many people who take artistic photos are shooting here.
The third is the Xinhua Hotel Viewing Platform, where you can go directly to the fifth floor, turn left and walk for 30 seconds to see the location of the viewing platform. This should be the closest place to the Potala Palace viewing point, and you can also take pictures of the traffic flow downstairs.
The fourth is the bar platform on the sixth floor of the Regis Hotel, where you can take big pictures with a telephoto lens, and it is also one of the best points to shoot the Potala Palace from a high position.
Tips:
1. You can use your mobile phone as the foreground to take the feeling of Figure 4.
2. Hand-in-hand photos, if you have a Ta, you can check in with Ta.
3. Bring a tripod, the Potala Palace is also very beautiful at night, the lighting time is about: 9:00-11:15, so be sure to hurry up, now the sky is dark at about 9 o'clock.
4. Other shooting methods I see have also been taught, I won't talk to everyone more, the above points are all free, less crowded places, you can probably stroll around in an afternoon and evening. I hope it can help everyone leave beautiful memories in Lhasa.
5. Finally, remember to carry your ID card at all times, the checks here are relatively strict.
