Shuzhuang Garden: A Dreamy Fairyland Amidst the Flowers.
Ticket Prices
Children/Elderly Half-Price Discount: $15
Adults: $30
Shuzhuang Garden is located on the southeast coast of Gulangyu Island, backed by Huangyan and facing the sea, with Haihua Garden to the east and Aberdeen to the west.
The entire garden is divided into two parts: Canghai Garden and Bushan Garden, each with five attractions. The five scenic spots of Canghai are Meishou Hall, Renqiu Pavilion, Zhen Shu Pavilion, Forty-Four Bridge, and Zhaoliang Pavilion. The five tourist spots of Bushan are Shishan House, Twelve Caves, Yi Ai House Road, Ting Chao Tower, and Xiao Lan Pavilion.
Half of the Twelve Heavenly Caves:
Upon entering this picturesque place, you will see a very charming maze-like flower viewing garden. The Twelve Caves are winding and easy to get lost in, like a small mountain labyrinth, full of fun, with passages that only allow one person to pass through. It is very suitable for exploring, looking for the twelve zodiac signs, or taking photos! But be careful! The steps are quite narrow.
Forty-Four Bridge:
It is said that the name of the bridge comes from the age of the owner, Lin Jia'er, when the bridge was built.
Appointed after the age of 44. On a sunny day, you can enjoy the scenery of the blue sea and sky, and the sparkling waves; when it rains, you can hear the sound of the waves. The winding stone bridge and steps are shaped like dragons and snakes. On the bridge, there are pillow stones, fish viewing platforms, Yue Pavilion, Qianbo Pavilion, Zhao Pavilion, etc. The cushion flow stone is very large, and it is engraved with Lin Erjia's 'Zhen Liu' ink marks. The bridge winds around the rocks, just like water being divided by rocks and then melted by rocks, with a unique flavor. On the bridge, the Duoyue Pavilion is the best spot in Shuzhuang Garden to enjoy the sea view.
Piano Museum:
The museum is divided into two floors, with no admission fee required, and photography with flash is prohibited inside. Touring the Piano Museum is like browsing through a century of piano development history, with many priceless pianos of various sizes from around the world, some even bizarrely shaped.
Must-visit Shuzhuang Garden and Piano Museum in Gulangyu
When traveling to Gulangyu, there is a garden that you must visit, which is the only private garden in the world that combines mountains, sea, and lake - Shuzhuang Garden.
If you only feel that this garden is not particularly large, you just walk around and want to go out after seeing the pianos in the Piano Museum inside, it would be a pity, because the more you look at this garden, the more exquisite it feels.
What impressed me the most is that Shuzhuang Garden flexibly uses the three techniques of 'hiding', 'borrowing', and 'trickery', making use of the natural terrain and scenery of Gulangyu, combined with artificial construction, to make up for the deficiencies of the mountain and sea scenery, and hide the sea by the mountain. Therefore, when you turn out of the moon gate and bypass the bamboo forest, you can see its true face, which can be described as a vast sea and sky in an instant.
What is particularly shocking is that going forward is the winding Forty-four Bridge. It is not to say that there are really forty-four bridges, but it refers to the age of Lin Erjia when this bridge was built, which was forty-four years old. There is a sluice gate under the stone bridge, which introduces seawater into the garden, forming three spaces of the sea, the outer pool, and the inner pool. The bridge body twists and turns, lying on the sea like a swimming dragon.
What you must not miss here is the Piano Museum in Shuzhuang Garden, which displays more than a hundred world-famous ancient pianos collected by Gulangyu's patriotic overseas Chinese Hu Youyi. Children and adults who play the piano must not miss it.

Remember these three places to play when you go to Gulangyu!! It's crazy beautiful
Gulangyu on a sunny day is really comfortable! Walking quietly in the villa alley, the blue sea and the green seawall.
Sharing three places I often go to, good for taking pictures and comfortable
✔ Shuzhuang Garden, a Suzhou garden by the sea. Walk to the side closest to the sea, stand on the stairs and take pictures of the small castle by the sea.
✔ Sunlight Rock, take pictures at the peak during sunset, avoid noon time;
✔ Dadeji Bathing Beach, the beach is not big and there are not many people, take pictures under the green rocks and big trees towards the direction of the Twin Towers;
.
🦞About food: We went to the Lugang Seafood next to the Sanqiu Tian Pier, just 1 minute away from the pier, very convenient!! The whole garden villa, has a kind of Shanghai small western-style building style, the environment is quiet and elegant, not noisy. As soon as you enter, there is a seafood pool, with clear price💰, will not pit~~ Love the refreshing lobster salad and slightly spicy Minnan Satay Club
Shuzhuang
Shuzhuang Garden is located in the southern part of Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, built in the second year of the Republic of China, facing the sea and backed by Sunlight Rock. It was originally the private villa of the local gentry Lin Erjia, and the owner of the garden named the garden after the homophonic of his word 'Shuzhuang'.
Shuzhuang Garden is backed by Huanguang Rock, facing the sea, adjacent to Guanhai Garden to the east, and overlooking Gangzaihou to the west. The whole garden is divided into two parts: Canghai Garden and Bushan Garden, each with five scenes. The five scenes of Canghai are Meishoutang, Renqiuge, Zhenluting, Forty-four Bridge, and Zhaoliang Pavilion; the five scenes of Bushan are Wanshi Mountain House, Twelve Caves, Ye Ai Wulu, Tingchao Tower, and Xiaolan Pavilion.
Lin Shuzhuang, whose name is Erjia, was born in Daixi, Xiamen in May of the 13th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. He is the eldest son of Chen Zongmei, the fifth son of Chen Shengyuan, the middle army general of Fujian Navy, and his milk name is Shizi.
Shuzhuang Garden on Gulangyu Island
Shuzhuang Garden, built on Gulangyu Island, which is known as the 'Garden on the Sea', is undoubtedly the most beautiful garden within a garden. 'Occupying less than ten acres, the scenery is more than ten thousand', is the comment of knowledgeable visitors to Shuzhuang. When I visited this garden, I felt the same way.
Shuzhuang is located on a hill with a wide view. Looking forward, seagulls fly among the blue sky and sea waves, and distant sails are dotted; looking back, the sunny Sunlight Rock stands tall in the sky, and a group of tourists like small birds have already spiraled to the top of the rock. Walking along the Forty-four Bridge, I admire the stone bridge extending into the sea, resembling a dragon swimming in the waves, and we are all dragon riders.
Incorporating mountains, sea, land, and sky into one garden, Shuzhuang is full of atmosphere, with ingenious details, and Shuzhuang is also elegant. The layout of the buildings in the garden is harmonious and exquisite, and every pavilion and building is unique and unique. For example, the pavilions are like half moons, like fans, with various shapes and arrangements, which are pleasing to the eye. The towers are unique and interesting. Take Renqiu Tower as an example, half of it is built on land and half is supported in the water. From here, you can enjoy the mountains and the sea, and the joy is overwhelming.
The greening highlights of the park are also many, planting trees and flowers layer by layer along the coastal slope, with a better three-dimensional effect. The flowers and trees are lush and beautiful, even in winter, the purple bougainvillea, the pink egg flower, and the orange trumpet-shaped flowers that I don't know the name of, are all blooming. The most impressive trees are the different-leaf Podocarpus, whose leaves are dark green and shiny, like dense small sticks clustered together, full of vitality. There is also the Taiwan Acacia tree with strong regional characteristics. In the breeze, the branches and leaves sway, bringing up countless homesickness of compatriots on both sides of the strait.
Speaking of this, I have to mention two virtuous people. One is Mr. Lin Erjia, a local gentry, who built this private villa in 1913 and named it 'Shuzhuang'. Walking up, you can see his reading pavilion 'Wanshi Mountain Villa' and the family residence 'Ye Ai Wu Lu'. Although it has been over a hundred years, it is still sturdy and tidy, and the courtyard is elegant. Mr. Lin is knowledgeable and elegant, patriotic and pro-people, and teaches his children well. In 1955, his descendants donated this private garden to the country, so that it could be shared by the public.
The other virtuous person who should be remembered is Mr. Hu Youyi, a patriotic overseas Chinese and musician who traveled to Australia. He collected more than 100 ancient pianos in his lifetime and donated them all to Gulangyu in 2000. They are displayed in the Tingtao Pavilion Piano Museum in Shuzhuang Garden and the Organ Museum in Gulangyu Bagua Building. In 2007, Mr. Hu once again generously donated all his and his ancestors' property, and bought a giant organ with a history of more than 100 years at an auction in Boston, and donated it to Gulangyu. Since then, this group of organs, which are more than ten meters high and wide, beautifully carved, and have more than 7,000 sound pipes, has become the largest organ in Asia, shocking the world, and standing in the Gulangyu Organ Art Center. Every day there are musicians playing, the solemn and harmonious and melodious piano sound will spread all over the island at that time.
Returning to the topic, let's go back to Shuzhuang Garden and take a walk in the Tingtao Pavilion Piano Museum. The Tingtao Pavilion is a typical representative of the fusion of Chinese and Western modern architectural styles. The exterior is generous and durable, and the interior decoration is even more exquisite. For example, the staircase in the first exhibition hall spirals up, and each step is inlaid with a beautifully decorated real copper guard face, which is dazzling. The two floors display more than 40 ancient pianos, most of which were produced in the 19th century, from the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Australia and other places; the types include grand pianos, square pianos, upright pianos, reed key pianos and children's pianos, etc., many of which were top-quality products at the time, and some can still play beautiful music now, which is amazing. These ancient pianos have great value for the study of Chinese and Western art, technology, and cultural history, and have also given Gulangyu the beautiful name of 'Piano Island'.
Visiting Shuzhuang Garden, I benefited a lot physically and mentally, and I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and humanistic atmosphere here. After returning to Xi'an, I will tell my friends about these feelings.

When you go to the summer, you must do a good job of sun protection. The sun is very poisonous. It is best to avoid noon, go shopping in the morning or at dusk.
In many scenic spots in Gulangyu, Xiamen, Xinzhuang Garden is a special place. It was a private villa of Taiwan businessman Lin Erjia before 1955.
Uncle is the "word" of Linerjia, and Xinzhuang Garden is named after the homonym of his words.
The green trees in the garden are sprouting, and the boulder stands on the seashore. The strange place is that the side of the arch bridge is the rough sea, and the other end of the arch bridge is the inner lake that is as quiet as the mirror. The clear water reflects the blue sky, white clouds, pavilions, winding paths, and vegetation, creating a classical artistic conception of poetry and painting.
Speaking of Xinzhuang Garden, I have to mention the legendary life of the owner Lin Erjia.
Lin Jias father, Lin Weiyuan, is a businessman and an official of the Qing Dynasty. He served as the Minister of Defense of Taiwans Sui Fu and the regiment.
Lin Weiyuan was originally from Jiaomei Township, Longxi County, Fujian Province. His ancestors moved to Taiwan's fresh water in the early years and relied on the colonization. It is one of the local families.
Linjia has a luxurious and exquisite Banqiao villa in Taiwan, where Linerjia lived from childhood. After the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War, the Qing government signed the Treaty of Shimonoseki, which squandered the country and humiliated the country, ceded Taiwan to Japan, and forced the officers and men stationed in Taiwan to return to the mainland. Lin Weiyuan did not dare to resist the purpose. He had to travel to Xiamen and settled in Gulangyu.
Because of living in Taiwan since childhood, the nostalgia is strong. With the growth of years, Lin Erjia, who settled in Xiamen and inherits his father's business, is more and more missed on the grass and trees of the old place. In 1913, he hired a famous teacher to build the Xinzhuang Garden in accordance with the architectural style of Banqiao Villa in Taiwan.
Xianzhuang Garden is one of the most famous scenic spots in Gulangyu Island, Xiamen. It was built in 1913 and is located in the south of Gulangyu Island. It faces the sea and is backed by Sunlight Rock. It was originally a private villa named Lingerjia, with his words The uncle's homonym named the garden, which was dedicated to the park in 1955.
"Xinzhuang Garden" uses the natural terrain to be cleverly laid out. The whole park is divided into two parts: the Zhaihai Garden and the Bushan Garden. The scenery is scattered and orderly. The garden is at sea and the sea is in the garden, which has the exquisiteness of the Jiangnan courtyard. Elegant, there are spectacular seagulls flying, dynamic and contrasting, complement each other, making people forget to return.
In addition to the old villas, the Xinzhuang Garden is one of the recommended punching spots...
was originally the private garden of Taiwans rich businessman Lin Lejia, facing the sea, leaning against the sun rock, the scenery can be said It is beautiful. Tickets are 30 yuan, and the price is very high.
Xinzhuang Garden uses the natural terrain to be cleverly laid out. The whole park is divided into two parts: the Zhaihai Garden and the Bushan Garden. The scenery is scattered and orderly. The garden is at sea, the sea is in the garden, and the garden is dense. Elegant, there are spectacular seagulls flying.
Artificially created 12-hole chain hole, walk in, can't find a way out, there are 12 zodiac signs, all kinds of trails are scattered, like a maze, but very interesting, you can find your own zodiac. At the highest point you can also overlook the entire garden. The
forty-four bridge was named after the owner of the park at the age of forty-four. The bridge is twisted and twisted, and Lingbo lies in the sea, just like a dragon.
The Gulangyu Piano Museum is also hidden here. There are two floors and more than forty guqin. Clementi made the four-corner piano in the early 19th century. It is the world's largest and the most powerful. The piano master Shu Nan's two-key piano made in 1906 has 4 strings, 8 pedals, two layers of keys, and the black and white keys are upside down, and...
except for piano, beauty and history, here The beauty of people is reluctant to leave.
Gulangyu, which became a World Heritage Site in 2017, has gradually become the most popular destination for college students. So how to play Gulangyu, there are three main elements: foreign houses, food and beaches.
Yanglou is the most famous in Xinzhuang Garden, followed by the Eight Diagrams Building and the Sea Paradise. Once again, you can visit the Yuanzhou Tea House, the Gourd House, the Sangen Legacy and the former site of the British and German Consulates. The buildings are all unique, taking a walk in the interval of eating, drinking and drinking, to experience the romance above the island.
There are two beaches. The beach behind Hong Kong and the Meihua Beach under the Sunlight Rocks next to the Xinzhuang Garden are better than the delicate white sand of Sanya, but it is especially suitable for sitting quietly in the moonlight.
Food is a bit of a lot, most of them are concentrated on the leading road, in addition to the island's Ye's numbness, Huang Yuantang pineapple cake, Lin's fish balls, Huang Shengji meat glutinous rice, faucet fish balls and Shen Jiachang powder, also gathered Xiamen's new-style snacks, such as Laipi Duck, Sanwei Crisp House, a Love Crisp, Devil's Deeds, Sugar Cat, Zhang San Crazy Milk Tea, Xiao Xiaoman Tea Cake, etc., all kinds of free trials can save you a day. I can't miss the meal.
About the island:

The most beautiful place in the whole Xinzhuang Garden is this Suzhou garden-like back garden. It uses the mountain to do a very exquisite design. Whether it is aesthetic or moral, it gives a perfect score, or the rich are good, the rich are You can build your own home according to your own ideas.
