I spent two days there, but only lingered around the north and south gates, not venturing deeper enough. Xixi Wetland is often called the lungs of Hangzhou, providing a habitat for plants and migratory birds. Xixi National Wetland Park is located in western Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It is China's first national wetland park integrating urban, agricultural, and cultural wetlands. The terrain is primarily marshy plains. It boasts abundant plant resources, with a long history of mulberry, bamboo, and willow cultivation, and its animal resources are mainly fish and birds. Xixi National Wetland Park features three causeways and ten scenic spots, with major attractions including the Green Causeway, Hezhujie Street, and Yanshui Fishing Village. The famous cultural phrase "Xixi, stay here" originates from the Southern Song Dynasty. When Emperor Gaozong fled south to Hangzhou to escape the Jurchen invasion, he arrived at Xixi and considered establishing his capital there.
