Yunshuiyao, heritage ancient town in Fujian
#freehotelstay
There are many preserved ancient towns in China (guzhen) which have become very touristy. At first glance, Yunshuiyao appears to be one of them, with loads of tourists and tour guides clambering about for photos. However, if you veer off the main area for a little wander, it's still possible to catch quiet glimpses of this charming water town by the world-renowned circular tulous.
A bit of background on Yunshuiyao:
🌳 The town is defined by the many ancient banyan trees growing by the river- there are 9 of them which are thousands of years old! See if you can spot the couple banyan tree by the main entrance to the village!
🎭 The town has been renamed after a famous Chinese movie that was filmed here over 15 years ago starring Vivian Hsu 🎥
While most of the houses by the river have been converted into gift shops and cafes, there are still residents living in the village, and you can see them carrying on with their day to day life, be it sunning chillies or tending to their gardens. Allow yourself to slow down and stroll, and just soak up the atmosphere, like the dog in the last picture 😉

Tulous at Yunshuiyao
I spent an afternoon at Yunshuiyao scene area looking at the tulous. They were all very large and impressive! The path goes along the water and was nice on a sunny day. I also got to see a little puppet show happening. I stored my suitcase at the entrance of the area and then was free to explore for the afternoon. After I was done I got my bags and took the number 6 bus down to Nanjing to get the bus to Xiamen. It’s definitely possible to see the tulous on your own without a tour guide!#tulou

Come to Yunshui, feel its peace and quiet, you seem to float in the fairyland of smoke and fog. A long ancient road, a hundred years old, a bamboo, water, and dreams, everything seems to be detached. Walking through the clouds, you can feel a hidden temperament. The people here still maintain a very natural and primitive state of life. Women in twos and threes will wash their clothes by the water and gossip. The waterwheel keeps turning around day and night, just like in the movie "Clouds". In the distance, the green mountains are like mountains and the water is like a mirror. The sky, the clouds and the old houses are projected into it. It is really a "cloud water".

In the hustle and bustle of the city for a long time, everyone will yearn for an idyllic poetic life, and Yunshuiyu, hidden in Nanjing, Fujian, is such a desirable one. Yunshui, the first time I heard this poetic name reminds me of the PC game "Xuanyuanjian-Cloud and Mountain" that I once played. Formerly known as Changjiao, Nanjing Yunshuiyu is located in Nanjing County of Cangzhou City and belongs to a scenic spot of the world cultural heritage Fujian Tulou!

Its time to watch the fireflies. The grass that had been drilled for two days in the Fujian Tulou was almost carried out by mosquitoes. I didnt take the most beautiful look of fireflies. Im going to find another place to shoot fireflies this year~

Nanjing·Yunshuiyao Ancient Town|||
|||. Yunshuiyao Ancient Town is a historic village with a long history, originally named Changjiao. It gained fame after the movie 'Yunshuiyao' was filmed here, and the local government later renamed it 'Yunshuiyao Ancient Town'.
The town boasts breathtaking ancient banyan tree clusters that are over a thousand years old. A wide stream flows through the middle of the village, alongside which there are 13 ancient banyan trees, some hundreds and some thousands of years old. The largest tree has a canopy covering an area of 1933 square meters, requiring more than ten people to embrace its trunk.
Beneath the banyan trees is a thousand-year-old cobblestone path, which has been worn smooth by countless footsteps over the years.
The ancient path is over 10 kilometers long and, according to historical research, was the essential route from Changting Prefecture (Longyan City) to Zhangzhou Prefecture (Zhangzhou City), now known as 'Yunshuiyao Ancient Path'.
Next to the ancient path, there is a row of two-story old brick-and-wood structures, which is the centuries-old street market of Changjiao.
Moreover, the most eye-catching sights in the village are the earthen buildings scattered at the foot of the mountains, along the stream, and across the fields. These earthen buildings, which began construction in the mid-Yuan dynasty, are listed as 'World Cultural Heritage' for their magical shapes and unique cultural significance.
There are 53 well-preserved earthen buildings in Yunshuiyao, each with its own unique charm. The most famous are the Hegui Building, which is built on a marsh and known as the 'world's most extraordinary', and the Huaiyuan Building, which is a double-ring round earthen building known for its exquisite craftsmanship and good preservation.
Yunshuiyao Ancient Town offers a pleasant scenery where mountains, water, trees, and houses complement each other, making it an absolutely beautiful and spiritually inspiring place.

The ancient town of Yunshuiyao was renamed after the popular movie 'Yunshuiyao' was filmed here
Yunshuiyao is not only famous for its earthen buildings but also for the largest banyan tree in Fujian Province.|||Yunshuiyao Ancient Town, originally named Changjiao Village, is a historic village. It was renamed Yunshuiyao Ancient Town because the popular movie 'Yunshuiyao' was shot here. Both names, Changjiao Village and Yunshuiyao, exude a literary charm. With ancient trees and houses, gentle breezes on old paths, and small bridges over flowing water, the place seems to have its own barrier that brings a moment of tranquility to those who enter, despite the crowds.
Within the scenic area of Yunshuiyao Ancient Town, besides the two World Cultural Heritage earthen buildings 'Hegui Building' and 'Huaiyuan Building', there is also a group of ancient banyan trees that are the tallest, largest, and most concentrated in Fujian Province, consisting of more than a dozen centuries-old banyans. The oldest of these banyans is nearly seven hundred years old, each one lush and with strong roots.
Two of them are particularly noteworthy. One is on the pebbles next to a stream, with a massive trunk and a canopy covering an area of 1933 square meters. Its branches extend over 30 meters, and it takes more than ten adults to encircle the base of the trunk. It is the largest banyan tree in Fujian Province. Standing under it, one feels as tiny as an ant, with its sprawling roots and branches resembling dragons, full of character.
Another tree is so large that it takes three or four people to embrace it. Underneath, people can be found drinking tea or eating. Sitting under the tree, with a cool breeze and the rustling of leaves, one feels incredibly relaxed.
📍Location: Yunshuiyao Ancient Town, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province

Yunshuiyao in Nanjing Tulou
Nanjing·Zhangzhou Yunshuiyao Ancient Town
In the early morning of Yunshuiyao, the river surface is covered by the branches and leaves of the banyan tree, the mountain is covered by the white mist, the shore is quiet with few pedestrians, the old mud walls and black wooden doors and windows are facing the rushing stream in a squatting manner, the cobblestone road here is the most primitive accumulation, smooth and uneven, a woman in high heels walks with strange steps.
Cuimeilou is still in the hands of the indigenous people, only collecting five yuan tickets, the villagers with simple smiles accept the scattered soldiers and brave men without a tour guide, and the guards in the expensive building are like temple dignitaries, waiting for the bustling tourists, inside is either selling or the Taoist friends are coaxing people to jump on the water-filled road to prove that this is Noah's Ark built on the swamp.
Near noon, the photographers under the banyan tree began to wait in groups for the red or white women walking over the stone bridge on the stream, sitting on the stone steps watching the geese and ducks swimming under the ancient bridge, the shore is changing the big king flag one group after another, the stone bridge is still quiet.
Following the guidance of Fat Sister, I went to Meilin Town seven kilometers away before the crowd rushed in. The cherry blossoms on both sides of Meixi were deep red and peach pink, the smoke from the Tianhou Palace was lingering, the white ducks were playing in the water under the reeds, the door of Cuiyuxuan was tightly locked, and while identifying the couplets, a little sister timidly asked: Do you want to go in and have a look? That's great! Su Xiaomei said she would go back to get the key and be back soon. This ancient house was a private school in the local area, and it is said to be the only place here that has a Confucius worship corridor.
From Wangmei Mountain, you can see the stream winding past, the earth buildings are square and round, adjacent or semi-circular, the trees are green and the mountains are vast, the peach forest on the shore is red like a cloud.

The must-visit point is the first wonder of the world and the expensive building. This highest earth building in Nanjing is built on a swamp. It's not bad to jump and feel the softness under your feet.
Huaiyuan Building is the most exquisite earth building in architectural craftsmanship. The ancestral hall in the core part of this double-ring round earth building is also the place where the family's children study, which shows respect for cultural heritage.
The morning and evening of the ancient town are the most suitable shooting times, quiet and peaceful mountains and waters or neon lights.
🧸Recommendation: Be sure to stay in the ancient town for one night, walk along the cobblestone path to feel the riverside under the night sky with clear water and bright moon, and the banyan roots swaying in the early morning sun. Of course, mature attractions are not lacking in the hustle and bustle of red lights and green wine.
Of course, it is not recommended to come to the scenic area during holidays, with many cars and people, it is better to go to Meilin Town a few kilometers away.
The ancient town has many cobblestone roads along the small stream, even if you are wearing a long skirt, you should bring more pairs of sports shoes.

Exploring ancient towns with Big Fish & Begonia, Fujian Tulou is indeed a representative of Hakka culture!
🏯This is also the filming location of the movie 'Big Fish & Begonia', it's so touching! The coming and going of camellia, the blooming of begonia, is one of the must-visit spots in my life. 😍
The scenic area is located in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, and the transportation is very convenient! Take the high-speed train to Nanjing Station, and then transfer to the No. 6 bus to the Tulou Reception Center. 🚄🚌
There are two routes for touring, first we choose the route of 1 Tower Village~Yuchang Building~Luokeng Tulou Group. First we came to 1 Tower Village, which is a typical Hakka village, located between two mountains, the river meanders into an 'S' shape, and the houses are built along the river. It's really beautiful! 😮
Next we came to Yuchang Building, this earth building is also known as the 'East Leaning West Sloping Building', with the maximum inclination reaching 15°, it is the oldest existing earth building in Fujian. Imagine, the earth building can lean like this, it's really amazing! 🏰
Then we continued to the Tianluokeng Tulou Group, which is also known as 'Four Dishes and One Soup'. Standing on the viewing platform, the view is really excellent, and it is even more beautiful when the lights come on at night! 🌆✨
Next, we switched to the second route, first came to Hegui Building. This earth building is built on a swamp, and it has remained firm and stable after two hundred years, it can be said to be the tallest one among Fujian earth buildings. It's really admirable! 💪
Finally, we came to Huaiyuan Building, the earth building here is the most exquisite and the best preserved double-ring circular earth building. It's really unique! 🏯
Lastly, we can also go to Yunshuiyao Ancient Town, this ancient town is famous for the movie 'Yunshuiyao'. Feeling the atmosphere of the movie here is really interesting! 🎬
In conclusion, the experience of exploring ancient towns with Big Fish & Begonia is really great! The magic and uniqueness of Fujian Tulou will definitely leave a deep impression on you, come and feel it quickly! 👍🎉

To see this thousand-year-old banyan tree, I came to Yunshuiyao
Yunshuiyao, originally named 'Changjiao', was named after the filming of 'Yunshuiyao'.
✨The attractions of Yunshuiyao are far more than this. There are 13 hundred-year-old and thousand-year-old banyan trees, a hundred-year-old street and a thousand-year-old ancient road. The oldest banyan tree is next to the water wheel.
🎐Of course, you can't miss the earth buildings when you come to Yunshuiyao. The most representative ones are 'Huaiyuan Building' and 'Hegui Building'.
Huaiyuan Building is a beautifully crafted and well-preserved double-ring round earth building; while Hegui Building is built on a swamp and is known as the 'world's first wonder'. Both buildings have their own viewing characteristics.
💕Tour suggestions
1️⃣Few people and beautiful scenery: If you want to avoid the bustling tour groups when taking pictures, it's best to stay in the scenic area and start touring in the morning. I chose the homestay next to the water wheel, which is very convenient to go to Hegui Building and Huaiyuan Building.
2️⃣Photo spots:
-Under the ancient banyan tree, water wheel, small bridge and stone beach in the direction of Hegui Building;
-Next to Huaiyuan Building is the Earth Building Culture Museum, the mottled earth wall is very interesting;
-Under the banyan tree, the tea stall bamboo chair or the stream side are all good photo positions.
3️⃣Try to choose flat and comfortable shoes when entering the scenic area. Most of the scenic area is cobblestone road, which is very inconvenient to walk.
4️⃣The sugarcane passion fruit juice and home-made dried tea leaves in the scenic area are very good.
5️⃣The earth buildings can generally only be viewed on the first floor. If you want to go upstairs, you can pay the residents 10-15 yuan.
-Practical Information-
🎫Ticket|Scenic area includes two-day pass 90
🚕Transportation|We drove from Zhangzhou, about 1 and a half hours, about 2 and a half hours from Xiamen.
🎪Accommodation|There are many homestays in the scenic area, almost all of them can be used for meals, and the local fish is very fresh.
❤️❤️❤️
▪️Under the towering banyan tree next to the water wheel, sit on a bamboo chair, gently shake the cattail fan, sip tea slowly, this picture is very similar to the scene at grandma's house when I was a child.
▪️Just in time for the local annual temple fair, every household has a red basket filled with chicken, pork and various pastries. Early in the morning, they have started to prepare for the jisi. Looking at the gift list, I found that the people here are all surnamed 'Jian'.

Yunshuiyu, the most beautiful millennium town in Fujian Province, is located in the county of Nanjing, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is also part of the Fujian Tulou, a national 5A-level scenic spot. It is a good place to visit in the sightseeing and holiday of Nanjing Tulou. The famous Yunshuiyu Ancient Town is not actually its real name. This ancient town of Qianlong was formerly known as the Changjiao Ancient Town. It was renamed Yunshuiyu because of the famous lyrical film Yunshuiyu. In the face of the picturesque Yunshui Ancient Town, it is estimated that many people will be intoxicated. Come here for a few days in the summer, and you can get a good relaxation after a few days. There are many eucalyptus trees in Fujian, but there are not many eucalyptus trees like Yunshuiyu. Many old banyan trees have witnessed the history of this millennium ancient town. Strolling in such an ancient town feels very pleasant and is a good choice for those who relax.

Formerly known as Changjiao, Nanjing Yunshuiyu is located in Nanjing County of Cangzhou City and belongs to a scenic spot of the world cultural heritage Fujian Tulou. There is the worlds first ancient building the earth building. The earth building looks special from the sky. The circular structure was once used as a secret base of China by the US military satellite. The most striking of the ancient towns in Yunshui is the earth buildings dotted with mountains, river banks and fields. These earth buildings, which were built from the middle of the Yuan Dynasty, have 53 preserved houses. Stepping into the tall earthen buildings, the soil, the fireworks, and the people, suddenly have the quietness of returning to the pastoral. These earth buildings are closed, there is only one gate on the ground floor, and the windows on the second and third floors are evenly distributed outside the top floor. A earth building can live in a family, and each small family has a room on each floor from the bottom up. If you want to go from the inside to the second floor, you will need to pay (the villagers collect it themselves). At the end of the scenic route is the famous Huaiyuan Building. The Huaiyuan Building was built between 1905 and 1909. It is the most beautiful and best protected double-ring circular earth building. The beauty of Yunshuiyu is endless, because visiting Yunshuiyu is not in our tourism. In the route, when the scenic spot is reached, it is already afternoon. The whole route is rushed to finish. If you are traveling here, it is recommended to stay here for two days and feel the Hakka culture. Yunshuiyu is really good.

What separates the living and the dead, and what separates the loved one. Some answers must be found by themselves. People who have read the movie Clouds and Waters must be familiar with this scene. The big waterwheel, the big banyan tree, Chen Qiushui and Wang Biyun will be here. This is Chen Qishuis hometown, and it has become Wang Biyuns spiritual sustenance and love. The symbol of the film "Shui Shui" is one of the most popular destinations for the movie. However, Yunshuiyu used to be called Yunshuiyu, called Changjiao Village. It was because of this film that it was renamed Yunshuiyu. In this life and the afterlife, are you waiting for me here? Probably not regretting it. After all, like the "species" of them, there are not many in the world. The night is coming soon, the lights are on. The last light is bright, and you can go shopping around the inn. The restaurant at the viewing restaurant of "You are in Yunshuiyu" is delicious, leeks, salted chicken, Hakka tofu, light, very suitable for Cantonese people's appetite. No, this is not dinner, but the show is delicious. Haha Yunshui night view, the red lights that are coming in, the drizzle of the rain slap the smooth stone road, Mountain brook, beat note music wafting from the bar, echoed over this small village is not noisy, and have actually quiet.

Yunshuiyu is a large scenic spot, which runs along the Changhe River, the mother river of Nanjing. It is a very classic and expensive building in the earth building, Yunshuiyu Ancient Village and Huaiyuan Building. It is a three-dimensional landscape with great excursions. Value, here you can see the square, the round earth building and the ancient and secluded ancient village of southern Anhui.
Originally called "Changjiao Village", the Changjiao River flowing through the village is the mother river of Nanjing. In 2006, because of the famous film "Cloud Water", it was renamed Yunshuiyu Ancient Village.
This ancient road is made of cobblestones. It is more than 10 kilometers long and consists of 13 cypress trees of 100 hundred and thousand years old eucalyptus.
One of the old eucalyptus canopies covers an area of 1,933 square meters, and the tree rafts are more than 30 meters long. More than 10 adults at the bottom of the trunk can be hugged. Next to the
banyan tree is the old market where the long-serving education has been in existence for hundreds of years. Most of these old shops still retain the characteristics of the wooden wall.
An old village with a long history, a long and ancient road in the village, and a hundred-year-old man, are all valuable treasures left by the ancient tea horse trail.

Knowing the place of Yunshui, it originated from Chen Kuns movie of the same name. Although the film has not been seen, the poetic name has left a great impression.
Yunshuiyu Ancient Town, formerly known as Changjiao Village, is located in the Tulou Scenic Area of Nanjing County, Fujian Province. It is between the two towns of Shuyang and Meilin. There are three villages, namely, Lushan, Guanyang and Kanxia. In the past few years, it has been known for being located in the deep mountains of southern Fujian. In recent years, it has become famous because of a movie and has been renamed. After the success of the Shenzhen of Fujian Tulou, the local government officially named the ancient road that was covered with cobblestones for more than 10 kilometers in the village. The most special one is the banyan tree along the river and the two couple trees near the waterwheel, making it a unique landmark.
The waterside is like a canopy, which grows like a canopy on the shore. It grows lush, and the water in the river is sometimes smashing, sometimes smashing and rushing. The waterwheel on the side of the river is specially made for the filming of Yunshuiyu. It is full of southern Fujian style and a simple and peaceful country atmosphere.

Tourist attractions and film and television programs are always inseparable. Some film and television works need to find scenic spots to shoot, and the scenic spots also need to use film and television works to enhance their popularity. There are many scenic spots in China that are popular with film and television works, and even some scenic spots will be changed. first name.
The Yunshuiyu in Nanjing County, Fujian Province is such a scenic spot. Because of the filming of Yunshuiyu, the name of this ancient village has also changed.
