Shanghai Classic Attractions, Yuyuan Pedestrian Street
In the morning, I went to the Piano Spring Garden, and after lunch at People's Square, I slowly walked to Yuyuan, which took about half an hour. Along the way, I passed by the New World Department Store and various old buildings, which really had the flavor of the seventies and eighties. If you have time, it's truly worth taking a stroll through the center of Shanghai.
By the time we arrived at Yuyuan, it was past the time for entering the garden for a visit, but I didn't feel regretful. After all, Suzhou-style gardens can be found in many places, and the pedestrian street outside Yuyuan is very quaint when the lights are on at night. It's like traveling back to the streets of ancient times. The imitation ancient pavilions and towers are exquisitely crafted, and there are famous restaurants everywhere, such as Green Wave Corridor, Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop, and Yuyuan Shanghai Restaurant, which are worth visiting at night.

No trip in Shanghai is complete without experiencing the mad crush of Yu Gardens in the evening! Around various holidays, the decorations hanging are changed to suit the celebrations but they remain as eccentric as always.
Do expect to be pushed and pulled as you try and take in the colours and theme. As this is mostly located around the Yu Gardens Bazaar, it’s free to view. The lakes viewing platform however does usually come with a fee.

Shanghai-Suzhou, the rain of Jiangnan
#chinatrip
For many years, Shanghai and nearby provinces like Suzhou and Hangzhou have been among the most attractive destinations for travelers to China. Jiangnan, the ancient name for the region downstream of the Yangtze River, offers a unique charm. This region's distinctive beauty shines in both sunny and rainy weather. Whether you visit on a clear day or during a rainstorm, there's something special about exploring the old towns and canals, such as Yuyuan Old Street, Pingjiang Road, and the Humble Administrator's Garden. In the rain, these sites take on a misty vibe that evokes the essence of ancient China, making it an experience you must try!

Yu Garden
The garden is surrounded by city god temple and Yuyuan Bazaar.Yuyuan Bazaar is located right next to Yu Garden, with beautiful Chinese architecture and design coupled with hundreds of shops selling pieces of jewelry, silk, antiques, arts, crafts, souvenirs, and local snacks. Throughout the years, Yu Garden has maintained a delicate balance between scholarly elegance and gaudy consumerism from its earliest days, and it has served as the stage on which the drama of the Pan family and the drama of the people of Shanghai have been performed.

Yuyuan Old Street
#chinatrip
Beautiful spot. I was a bit afraid that it might look like a tacky Disneyland version of old China based on some reviews but the whole area is actually gorgeous. There are tons of shops and places to get food. I visited late at night and the lights gave an amazing look to the streets. Highly recommended!
The architecture and lighting are superb and there are lots of neat little trinkets and photo spots.
Anything travels

I was still amazed and shocked by the beauty of this area especially the superb night view!
The buildings were light up beautifully at every corner, as if we entered into a different realm of China 😍
I guess you should easily spare 2-3hours walking around for everything they have to offer - foods, drinks, fashions, sport goods and even some souvenirs shop!
Definitely will come back to this place!

Constructed in 1907, the streets of Shanghai, Yuyuan Old Street
Shanghai Yuyuan Old Street is located at No. 238 Fuyou Road, Huangpu District, and is named after the Ming Dynasty Shanghai Yuyuan. The magnificent antique architectural complex and the quaint Yuyuan garden architecture complement each other.
The old street is connected to the famous Jiangnan Garden 'Yuyuan' in the south, and to the Fuyou Road small commodity market in the north, with a total length of more than 100 meters, gathering more than 30 characteristic shops with Chinese national style, covering four major sections of household items, craft gifts, festive items and traditional characteristic goods.
Whenever there is a temple fair holiday, it is bustling with people, shoulder to shoulder, a folk painting of 'eat, play, take', a good scenery of 'the country is prosperous and the people are at peace', all in sight.
