The Zambezi crosses or forms the borders of 6 countries or regions. It is the fourth largest river in Africa and the largest in Southern Africa. With a flow of 223 billion cubic meters, it is second only to the Congo River in Africa, making it the cradle of culture in this region. The Zambezi has numerous tributaries, a dense river network, 72 waterfalls, and many rapids and gorges along its course. The cruise area is located in the middle reaches of the Zambezi, at its widest point, where the river is as smooth as a mirror, 2 kilometers wide, and 5 kilometers from Victoria Falls. It also serves as the border river between Zimbabwe and Zambia. In my eyes, the wildness and grandeur of the 'Zambezi River' are unparalleled, very African in flavor, and very pristine in its natural state. It is only after listening to the guide that I learned this is one of the last refuges for African wildlife, and I captured the moments I liked with a telephoto lens. Various trees on both sides of the river are lush, with various birds soaring and swooping continuously, and rare birds can occasionally be caught among the reeds. Suddenly, a commotion: 'Hippopotamus!' At one moment, it's an adult hippo hiding its body under the water, revealing only its nostrils and eyes; at another, it's a baby hippo frolicking with an adult, bobbing in the river with blue waves, a sight both novel and stunning. Everyone is quiet, breathing slowly, with only the sound of camera shutters clicking. Perhaps due to its proximity to the equator, the sun is super large, softly and brilliantly red, slowly setting over the horizon on the river. Perhaps, only in this place on earth is the sunset so beautiful, and the sky full of colorful clouds makes the Zambezi River even more dreamy and mysterious.
