Zhejiang Museum (Zhijiang Branch).
The Zhijiang Branch of Zhejiang Museum officially opened to the public on August 29. The new Zhijiang Branch is located in the Zhejiang Zhijiang Cultural Center, with a construction area of 100,000 square meters, an exhibition area of 32,012 square meters, a building height of 59.9 meters, eight floors above ground, and two floors underground. It is the largest single building in the Zhijiang Cultural Center and a modern public cultural space integrating collection, protection, research, display, publicity, education, and cultural experience.
The exhibition and public service space of the new Zhijiang Branch of Zhejiang Museum is located from the first floor underground to the fourth floor above ground. The exhibition planning is based on the principles of "ideological height, academic depth, and humanistic temperature" to build a "159" diversified exhibition system. The "Ten Thousand Years of Zhejiang" general history exhibition uses archaeological achievements and cultural relics to construct the grand history of Zhejiang, highlighting the highlights of Zhejiang's history, as well as the origins of rice cultivation, silk, porcelain, etc., reflecting the contribution of Zhejiang's humanities and technological development to Chinese civilization and even world civilization; five Zhejiang cultural thematic exhibitions decode Zhejiang's unique cultural genes from the perspectives of celadon culture, marine culture, Song Yun culture, painting and calligraphy culture, and celebrity culture; nine functional expansion and experience exhibitions have the characteristics of personalization, diversification, and quality, and also have a sense of technology and experience. The visit time is about five hours.

The thousand-year-old kiln fire brings back the "thousand peaks of emerald green."
Zhejiang is the birthplace of porcelain and the main production area of ancient celadon. If the Yue Kiln celadon of the Tang Dynasty is as smooth as ice, then the Longquan celadon of the Song Dynasty is as warm as jade.
Ceramics are transformed from clay, absorbing the agility of water, the depth of earth, and the tempering of fire, forming various types of ceramics such as celadon, white porcelain, black pottery, and purple sand.
During the Eastern Han Dynasty, dragon kilns had become commonly used kilns in Zhejiang. They were built on sloping hillsides and consisted of three parts: the combustion chamber, the firing chamber, and the smoke chamber. Dragon kilns had the advantages of low construction cost, fast burning speed, and easy temperature rise and rapid cooling.
During the Jin Dynasty, the craftsmen of the Yue Kiln dug a small window every 1.3 meters on the kiln wall as a place to put firewood, ensuring that the porcelain blanks were all within the range of the burning firewood.
The kiln workers invented various kiln tools to improve the firing method, such as saggars, pads, rings, and support nails, which greatly improved the yield of porcelain.
The fire mirror is a piece of glaze installed near the firewood hole. When the temperature cone is seen to have softened and bent, a long iron hook can be used to pick out the fire mirror, and the finished porcelain can be seen after cooling.

A visit to the Zhejiang Museum.
✨The Zhejiang Museum in Hangzhou is easily accessible by subway!
🏛️I was amazed by the grand scale of the Zhejiang Museum as soon as I walked in! I felt like I couldn't finish the tour even if I came early in the morning, as there are more than a dozen exhibition halls in the main building. I visited six exhibition halls in the afternoon, and I plan to come back earlier next time to see them all.
🔍Starting with prehistoric culture, the museum presents a long history. Many of the exhibits were unearthed locally in Zhejiang, and I felt a strong connection to them, as if I could hear them telling ancient stories. I felt that every exhibit here has its own story, especially when I followed the guide and listened to the guide's explanation, I felt I learned a lot.

Zhejiang Museum Snapshots
I have been to Hangzhou several times and visited all the major attractions, so I thought of going to a less popular spot, the Zhejiang Museum, to take a look. However, there were still many people, mostly parents bringing their children to gain knowledge. The museum is quite large, and even a cursory tour takes more than an hour. The most impressive exhibits include the little pig, bronze mirrors, the sailing sculpture, and the large flower sedan chair, as shown in the photos. If you have finished touring outdoor attractions like West Lake and Xixi, and want to gain some knowledge while avoiding the heat, Zhejiang Museum is the perfect choice.

In June, the way to play in Hangzhou's rainy weather is to go to the must-visit spots
June in Hangzhou is misty with rain. Holding an umbrella, feeling the West Lake in the rain? No, no, no, you're going to get your shoes wet
When you come to Hangzhou, you must go to the Zhejiang Provincial Museum to find the top ten treasures of the museum. Let's go, set off! ……
Choose the Zhejiang Pavilion, this is the new pavilion, very beautifully and grandly built!
Transportation: Subway, just a few steps from the subway station, very convenient
Reservation method: Free online reservation in advance or on-site ID card scanning
Visiting method: Start from the first floor, don't miss anything from floors 1-4, it's quite large, it's recommended to bring a water bottle and necessary snacks. Of course, the museum has thoughtfully considered the visitors, there is a separate area for dining after exiting the museum, and you can re-enter after eating.
Speaking of the museum, the top ten treasures are a must-see. Here are a few photos of the treasures for everyone, not all of them, leaving some suspense for you to see on-site.

Half-day tour of Zhejiang Provincial Museum
It's raining in Hangzhou, between the misty rain in Lingyin of West Lake and the cultural tour of Zhejiang Museum, I chose the latter. Zhejiang Provincial Museum has many treasures with a long history, many of which are very precious national treasures, such as the 'Double Birds Facing the Sun' ivory carved butterfly-shaped utensil from the Hemudu period, the jade cong king of the Liangzhu culture, the sword of the King of Yue in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, etc. Unfortunately, the 'Remaining Mountain Map' of Huang Gongwang's 'Fuchun Mountain Residence Map' was not on display, and I couldn't see its true face. I also look forward to the 'Useless Teacher Scroll' being able to reappear in the future; the Zhejiang Library next door is also very worth visiting.

Hangzhou has a civilization history of 8,000 years and a city-building history of 5,000 years
Hangzhou is a land of fish and rice, a house of silk, and one of the seven ancient capitals. The teeth of the Jiande people 50,000 years ago, the carbonized rice grains of the Kua Lake Bridge 8,000 years ago, the crystal cup of the Warring States Period, the frog-shaped water bowl of the Yue Kiln, the grain silo of the celadon, and the Jing brick of the Leifeng Tower in the Five Dynasties. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Huaxin built a pond, and West Lake gradually became an inner lake. During the Sui Dynasty, Yang Su built a city based on Phoenix Mountain. During the Tang Dynasty, Li Bi opened six wells and introduced West Lake water into the city. The Wu-Yue Kingdom prospered and repaired water conservancy, respected Confucianism and promoted literature, promoted Buddhism and emphasized Taoism, giving birth to the paradise of Suzhou and Hangzhou. It was friendly with its neighbors, later protected its territory and its people, and returned its land to the Song Dynasty. Buddhism in Hangzhou began in the Two Jin Dynasties, prospered in Wu-Yue, and was known as the Buddhist country of the southeast. During the Song Dynasty, they respected the scriptures and ran schools, respected literature and scholars, and were known as the Renaissance period in the East. Bi Sheng invented movable type printing, and Shen Kuo wrote the scientific monument 'Dream Creek Notes'. The Song people loved to wear flowers, and several emperors and empresses of the Southern Song Dynasty personally participated in the affairs of the painting academy, and the official kiln reached its peak with its lustrous color. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Hangzhou was the capital, establishing the pattern of 'Southern Palace and Northern Market, Garden City'. During the Yuan Dynasty, it was praised by Marco Polo as 'the most beautiful and noble heaven city', and the area around the Qingtaimen Inner Recommendation Bridge was a residential area for Muslims. During the Ming Dynasty, Feng Mengzhen retired from office and lived in Xixi, built 'Xixi Thatched Cottage', and enjoyed plum and bamboo. Xianyu Shu, a calligrapher of the Yuan Dynasty, built the Kunxuezhai in the Tiger Forest of West Lake, and had a mutual appreciation with Zhao Mengfu, a giant of the calligraphy world, and became the center of the Xixi Elegant Gathering. During the Qing Dynasty, Kangxi came to Hangzhou five times, and Qianlong visited Hangzhou six times. Hangzhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties was famous for its night market, and the Wulin School of Painting was praised in the history of painting.
