A great zoo with many animals you would not expect

Great experience for kids. Feels like a jungle safari than visiting a zoo. I was impressed by how elaborately the facility was built.
Plenty of food options, we had pizza and meatballs, that can fill the youngest to oldest taste desires. All staff are willing to help and educate about the animals they are working with. A definite must for families with younger children, or those whom like getting some excise, fresh air, and see interesting animals.

Okapi, the Lady of the Forest!
The first time I saw okapis, they were lovely and I am amazed because it is like a mix of a deer and a giraffe.
It is one of the World’s four large rare animals, the okapi
The popular okapi in Zoorasia are considered one of the World’s four large rare animals and is registered as an official endangered species. The okapi, native to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is related to the giraffe and is known for its characteristic striped rear. Zoorasia has actually had success in breeding the rare okapi.
Okapis are very shy. Their reddish brown-black coat camouflages them in the deep forest. In the thick trees and underbrush, okapis rely on their hearing to warn them of danger. Their huge ears pick up even the softest sounds coming from any direction. They listen for leopards, which hunt adult okapis, as well as smaller wild cats, which can attack a young calf.

Zoo in Asia (Zoorasia)
#thingstodo
Beautiful and vast zoo full of different kinds of animals. They nicely categorized the animals in different habitats.
The exhibit features rare animals such as okapi and proboscis monkeys. I think they are designed to make it easier for the animals to spend time, but some of the animals were too far away to be seen.
Polar bear, red panda and okapi are the popular ones.
There is also a playground zone and a plaza, but be aware that the playground equipment is quite crowded.

Yokohama Zoological Gardens “Zoorasia”
#thingstodo A wonderful zoo to visit in Yokohama and the whole of Greater Tokyo.
The zoo is very large, and has a lot of different animals from all corners of the world.
There are playgrounds for the little ones to play as well. As well as a couple of places to eat (nothing fancy, but decent food court style food).
Highly recommended this if you are looking for a nice zoo.
