Super tasty Wagyu and Chirashi at Si Sushi
#bucketlistreboot #sushi
We went there three times in one trip. This is the 3rd.
Location: Punta De Mita, in the central plaza of this organic fishing village.
Food taste: This time, we have chosen Uni (sea urchin), giant clams, chirashi (mix of different sashimi over rice), and wagyu sushi, it was tasty, a highlight of the meal.
This is our first Impression of the place: From outside, it doesn’t look authentic at all. It has an architecture of Japanese temple during Asuka period, when Chinese Tang Dynasty has lots of influence into the Japanese arts and culture. Frankly, we step into the place with doubts.
Our 2nd Impression: Once we step inside, we have discovered two Japanese chefs work tirelessly behind a very beautiful wooden sushi counter. The decoration is tasteful.
Avg. price per person: $75

Fantastic taste of “toros” at Si Sushi

Food taste: They use blue fin farmed tuna from Mexico. the Kama toro(1st pic) is the fatty neck part of the fish, it is the most tasteful park of the tuna. Melts in our mouths, actually. So creamy. This is the most expensive. $25 a piece.
ChuToro (pic 2), OToro (pic 3) and NigiToro, mixed toro with green onions (pic 3) are equally tasty.

Watching the Chef Prepare Sushi at Si Sushi
Si Sushi is an engaging dinner stop because the chef's counter makes the preparation part of the experience. The restaurant has a tropical exterior, then shifts into a darker, more intimate space where the fish is sliced and individual pieces are finished with a torch. Sitting where you can see the counter adds context to the tuna plate and the final sushi without interfering with the chef's work. Ask what is best that day and consider ordering a few pieces at a time so each one arrives at the right temperature. I would allow enough time to watch the technique and enjoy the meal slowly rather than treating it as a quick roll stop. This is a good Punta de Mita option for travelers who appreciate fresh fish, careful preparation, and a more interactive dinner atmosphere.

A Beach Walk and Whole-Fish Lunch at El Surf Club
A visit to El Surf Club works especially well when you combine time on the sand with a long shared lunch. Start with a walk near the rock formation before the beach becomes busier, then move into the shaded dining area. Watching the fish being finished at the table adds another memorable part of the meal before grilled vegetables and whole fish arrive from the fire. Ask the server how many people the fish will serve before adding other dishes, since the portions are designed for sharing. Sand-friendly shoes and lightweight clothing make the transition from beach to restaurant easier. I would reserve enough time to enjoy the meal gradually rather than squeezing it between other stops. The contrast between the open shoreline, tableside preparation, and generous seafood lunch makes this a memorable Punta de Mita afternoon.

Ocean Views, Oysters, and Grill Time at El Surf Club
El Surf Club combines a broad coastal setting with a shaded restaurant area that makes it easy to spend several hours here. Take in the beach from above before settling under the trees for lunch. Oysters are a natural starting point, followed by a taco and a look at the open-fire grill where the seafood is prepared. Ask about the day's freshest options because availability can change, and mention any dietary restrictions before ordering several shared plates. The sand and dining area call for comfortable, casual clothing, while sun protection is important if you plan to walk the beach afterward. I would avoid ordering too quickly and instead let the meal progress with the setting. The combination of shoreline, relaxed seating, and visible cooking gives the stop more character than a standard beach lunch.

Coastal Design, Ceviche, and Pool Time at Sufi Ocean Club
Sufi Ocean Club combines bright coastal design with comfortable places to spend an afternoon near the water. The woven lounge furniture and open-air entrance establish the relaxed atmosphere, while the restaurant adds fresh dishes such as ceviche without turning the visit into a formal dining experience. Spend some time at the oceanfront pool, where the view stretches beyond the water toward the coast, then move into the shaded areas when you need a break from the sun. Arriving earlier makes it easier to enjoy the shared spaces before lunch and choose the seating that suits your group. Bring sun protection and a change of clothes if you plan to swim. This is a good option for travelers who want pool time, beach-club scenery, and a casual meal in one easy stop.

A Full Ocean Day from Wildlife Watching to the Coast
A full boat outing from Punta de Mita is about more than searching the horizon for whales. The journey includes the changing perspective from the boat, the texture of the waves below, and wide views of quiet beaches and rocky coastline. Keep your camera accessible, but also take breaks from the screen because wildlife can surface in a completely different direction. Sun protection, water, and a light wind layer are useful, and anything loose should be secured before the boat accelerates. The coastal views remain worthwhile even when animal sightings are brief, so enjoy the surf and shoreline as part of the experience. This kind of excursion suits travelers who want a varied day on the water rather than a single quick wildlife stop.

Open Water, El Moro Reef, and a Quiet Beach Stop
An Ohana Experiences boat day from Punta de Mita offers plenty to enjoy even between wildlife sightings. We watched a whale rise from the water, relaxed at the bow, spotted dolphins near the boat, and passed the dramatic rocks of El Moro Reef before reaching a quieter beach. Bring reef-safe sun protection, a secure strap for your phone or camera, and a light layer for the wind once the boat picks up speed. Wildlife is unpredictable, so it helps to appreciate the changing coastline and time on the water rather than judging the outing by one sighting. Sitting near the front gives you an open view but can also mean more spray. The combination of marine life, rugged rock formations, and a peaceful shoreline makes the full route rewarding.

Terrace Views, Living Spaces, and a Punta Mita Residence
A residence stay in Punta de Mita can be especially useful for families or friends who want more than one bedroom and space to gather. This property connects its living areas with a furnished terrace, pool, and coastal scenery, so the shared spaces feel like part of the vacation rather than only practical rooms. Look closely at the kitchen and dining setup if your group plans to prepare breakfast or keep snacks and drinks on hand. The bedrooms offer privacy, while the terrace gives everyone somewhere to meet without crowding together indoors. I would keep at least one morning or afternoon free to enjoy the residence itself instead of filling every day with excursions. The combination of home-style convenience, outdoor space, and ocean views is what makes this type of stay appealing for a longer Punta de Mita trip.

A Punta Mita Day from the Ocean to Pacifico Grill
A relaxed day around Punta Mita's Pacifico area can move naturally from water views to lunch and the golf-course landscape. Start near the beach or pool while the temperature is comfortable, then head toward Pacifico Grill when you are ready for a shaded break and a proper meal. The dining area overlooks a different side of the destination, with open greens and resort scenery replacing the busier shoreline. Bring sun protection and clothing that works for both the water and a casual restaurant. I would leave room between activities rather than scheduling lunch immediately after swimming, especially if you want time to walk around and enjoy the view. This plan works well when a group wants coastal scenery, comfortable shared spaces, and food without spending every hour in exactly the same setting.

Courtyard Dining and Mexican Flavors at MINA
MINA offers a relaxed courtyard setting for a meal in Punta de Mita, with greenery, open-air tables, and a view of the kitchen activity. The entrance feels tucked away from the busier street, so take a moment to enjoy the patio before settling in. Sharing several dishes is a good way to experience more of the menu, especially when the table wants to try tacos alongside larger plates. I would arrive with enough time for an unrushed dinner because the atmosphere is part of the appeal, not merely the food itself. Outdoor seating can feel warm, so lighter clothing is helpful. This is a good choice for travelers who want Mexican flavors in a comfortable setting that feels polished without becoming overly formal or disconnected from the casual rhythm of Punta de Mita.

Coffee, Garden Details, and Breakfast at Cafecito de Mita
El Cafecito de Mita is a comfortable morning stop when you want coffee and breakfast before heading toward the beach or exploring Punta de Mita. The café has an inviting outdoor presence, a relaxed counter area, and garden details that make it pleasant to sit rather than immediately take everything to go. Arrive earlier for a quieter meal and take a moment to look around the patio and surrounding street before continuing the day. A broad breakfast and a fresh coffee make this especially useful before a long stretch of sightseeing or water activities. The atmosphere is casual, so it fits easily into an unhurried itinerary without requiring a special occasion. I would plan enough time to enjoy the setting and map out the next stop instead of treating it only as a quick caffeine run.

Punta de Mita from a Beach Walk to Local Shops
Punta de Mita is easy to explore at a slower pace because the town, coast, and casual stops sit close enough to combine in one day. Begin with a walk near the water before the heat builds, then browse the small local shops and colorful streets. Later, pause at an open-air bar or poolside spot and leave time for another look at the coastline. Comfortable shoes and sun protection are useful because the day can move between pavement, sand, and exposed outdoor areas. I would avoid scheduling every stop too tightly; part of the appeal is noticing a shop, café, or view that was not originally on the plan. This makes a good flexible itinerary for travelers who want beach scenery, local browsing, and relaxed breaks without spending the entire day at one resort.

Inside a Coastal Residence from Kitchen to Pool
This Punta de Mita residence balances bright bedrooms and quiet indoor spaces with the kind of ocean view that makes you want to slow down. The room facing the water is especially peaceful in the morning, while the open-air interior and long pool create inviting places to gather during the day. A shaded terrace gives you somewhere comfortable to enjoy the scenery without staying in direct sun, and the second bedroom shows why a residence can work well for families or friends traveling together. When comparing a residence stay with a traditional hotel room, look closely at how many shared areas, beds, and outdoor spaces your group will actually use. I would leave part of the schedule open so there is time to enjoy the pool and terrace rather than treating the property only as a place to sleep.

A Relaxed Villa Stay with Ocean Views in Punta de Mita
For a longer Punta de Mita stay, having a full kitchen and living room can make the experience feel much easier than relying on a standard hotel room. This residence also opens toward a long pool and a wide coastal view, so the shared spaces feel connected to the outdoors. The bedrooms have different layouts, which is useful when deciding where couples, children, or friends will sleep, and the main living area offers room to gather without crowding into one bedroom. Bring a few groceries or drinks if you want to use the kitchen, then plan at least one unrushed morning or afternoon at the residence. The view is a highlight, but the practical combination of cooking space, comfortable bedrooms, and indoor-outdoor gathering areas is what makes this style of stay especially useful for a group trip.

A Relaxed Day from the Water to Lunch at Sufi Ocean Club
Sufi Ocean Club is an easy place to turn lunch into a relaxed afternoon by the water. We started with drinks and a substantial meal, then spent time moving between the sandy lounge area, shaded cabanas, and the pool overlooking the coast. Arriving before lunch gives you more time to choose where you want to settle and enjoy the outdoor spaces before the day feels busy. Bring sun protection and something comfortable to wear near the pool, but also allow time for a proper meal rather than planning only a quick snack. The club feels most enjoyable when you alternate between shade, water, and the restaurant instead of staying in one spot. It works well for travelers who want a beach-club day with comfortable seating, coastal scenery, and dining all in the same visit.

Tacos, Oysters, and a Casual Food Stop in Punta de Mita
This casual Punta de Mita food stop is a good option when everyone wants something a little different. The open-air setup includes a taco truck as well as La Docena's seafood counter, making it possible to pair generously filled tacos with fresh oysters in one relaxed meal. Take a moment to look around before ordering because the counters and menus are separate, and it is easier to decide what to share once you see the choices. The shaded seating and tropical surroundings make the experience feel more like a laid-back coastal stop than a formal restaurant meal. I would come with enough time to order from more than one counter and enjoy everything slowly. It is especially convenient to combine with shopping or beach plans nearby when you want flavorful food without committing to a long, dressy dinner.

A Coastal Itinerary with Town Stops and Beach Time
An unhurried Punta de Mita day can combine several sides of the area without packing the schedule too tightly. Start near the La Lancha trail and coastline while the day is cooler, then move toward a beach-club stop such as Kupuri for water views and a slower midday break. Later, browse the local shops before ending with a wellness appointment at The Spa Mita. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a change of clothes are helpful when the day includes both the shore and indoor stops. Leave extra time between plans because the coastal scenery and small shopping areas are worth enjoying without rushing. This route works best as a flexible outline rather than a minute-by-minute schedule, especially if you want a mix of nature, beach time, local browsing, and relaxation in one Punta de Mita day.

Marine Life and Coastal Scenery Around Punta de Mita
The waters around Punta de Mita offer more than one kind of coastal scenery in a single boat outing. A whale tail rising above the surface created the most dramatic moment, but the dolphins, sea lions on the rocks, sandy shoreline, and clear water around the rocky edges made the full route memorable. Keep your camera ready without watching only through the screen, because wildlife can appear quickly and in a completely different direction. A secure strap, sun protection, and a light layer for wind are useful once the boat starts moving. I also recommend looking toward the rock formations and shoreline between wildlife sightings; those quieter views help show how varied this part of the coast is. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the landscape itself still makes the time on the water worthwhile.

A Wildlife Boat Day with Ohana Experiences
One of the best parts of a wildlife boat day from Punta de Mita is how much the scenery changes beyond the animal sightings. Our Ohana Experiences outing included time at the bow, a distant whale, dolphins moving together, sea lions resting on the rocks, and a rugged section of coastline. Sitting near the front of the boat gave us an open view, but it also meant more wind and spray, so a light layer and a secure camera strap were useful. Keep your attention on the water without forgetting to look toward the rocks, where smaller details can be easier to miss. Because wildlife is unpredictable, enjoy the ride and coastal landscapes on their own terms. The variety between open sea, rocky habitat, and shoreline made the outing worthwhile even between sightings.

Whales, Dolphins, and Reef Views from Punta de Mita
A boat outing from Punta de Mita can combine open-water scenery, wildlife sightings, rocky formations, and a quiet beach stop in one trip. On our Ohana Experiences excursion, the views changed constantly—from looking across the boat toward the horizon to watching whales and dolphins moving through the water. El Moro Reef added a dramatic coastal landmark, while the aerial beach view showed how secluded parts of this coastline can feel. Bring sun protection, a secure strap for your phone or camera, and a light layer because the wind can feel cooler once the boat is moving. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, so it helps to appreciate the reef, coastline, and time on the water as part of the experience rather than focusing only on seeing one animal.

A Relaxed Punta de Mita Day with Water, Wellness, and Food
Punta de Mita works well for a relaxed day that mixes wellness, beach time, shopping, and a casual drink. I would begin with the spa or another quiet indoor stop, then head toward the coast once you are ready for brighter scenery and more activity. The beach-club views are a good reminder to leave part of the afternoon unscheduled, especially if you want time by the water. A boutique break adds a different side of the area, and finishing with a fresh drink keeps the outing easy rather than overly formal. Bring sun protection and comfortable shoes, since the day can move between indoor spaces, shoreline, and shops. This is a useful plan for travelers who want variety without a long drive or a tightly timed itinerary, and each stop can be shortened or extended depending on your mood.

Beaches, Local Shopping, and Color Around Punta de Mita
One of the nicest ways to explore Punta de Mita is to alternate between the beach and its small shopping stops. The boutiques add plenty of color, from handmade-looking decor and accessories to bright storefront displays, while the nearby coast keeps the day feeling open and relaxed. I would begin with a walk through town before the hottest part of the day, then save the water or a casual drink for later. Comfortable shoes are helpful for browsing, and sun protection is important once you move toward the beach. Keep some space in your bag if you plan to shop, but do not schedule every minute; the area is most enjoyable when you can stop wherever something catches your attention. This makes an easy itinerary for travelers who want local color, coastal views, and a few low-key stops without a complicated plan.

A Punta de Mita Day from Town Streets to the Coast
Punta de Mita is easy to explore when you leave room for both the town and the coast. I would start near the boats and waterfront, then walk through the shopping areas before heading toward a beach club or scenic coastal stop. The colorful stores make a fun contrast to the blue water, and a drink along the way gives you a reason to slow down rather than rushing between places. Comfortable shoes and sun protection are useful because the day can include walking, open shoreline, and a short nature trail. Keep the timing flexible so you can spend longer wherever the atmosphere feels best. This kind of loose itinerary is ideal for travelers who want to see several sides of Punta de Mita in one day, from local street life and shopping to pools, rocky coastline, and the marina.

Pool Time and Casual Dining Around Pacifico
A day around Pacifico can easily move from the pool to a relaxed meal without feeling overly planned. The bright pool area gives you a comfortable place to enjoy the sun, while the nearby dining spaces make it simple to pause for lunch or dinner. I would keep the schedule flexible and order a few different dishes for the table, especially if everyone wants to try something different. The food ranges from casual daytime plates to more polished evening options, so the area works well whether you are stopping between activities or making the meal the main event. Bring sun protection for the open pool deck and give yourself time to enjoy the surroundings before sitting down. This is a useful choice for travelers who want water, resort atmosphere, and an easy meal together in one Punta de Mita outing.

Beach Views and a Seafood Lunch at El Surf Club
El Surf Club is a great place to combine beach time with a long seafood lunch. I would begin by walking along the shoreline and taking in the rocky coastal scenery before settling into the shaded dining area. The water is the main attraction, but the meal adds another reason to stay rather than treating this as a quick beach stop. Order something that is easy to share, especially if you are visiting with friends, and leave enough time to enjoy the table without rushing back to your next plan. Sun protection is helpful for the open beach areas, while the restaurant offers a welcome break from the heat. The mix of ocean views, casual seating, and fresh seafood makes this an easy half-day outing for travelers who want both scenery and a memorable meal in Punta de Mita.

A Relaxed Japanese Dinner at ASAI
ASAI is a lovely option for a dinner built around several Japanese and Asian-inspired dishes. The dining room has a warm, natural look that makes the meal feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. I would come hungry and order a few different plates to share, because the menu is especially enjoyable when you can compare flavors and textures across the table. The sashimi, sushi, and composed seafood dishes each bring something different to the meal, while the restaurant setting keeps it from feeling like a food-only stop. Give yourself enough time between courses instead of rushing through dinner, and take a moment to notice the details in the room before sitting down. This is a good choice for travelers who want a polished evening meal in Punta de Mita while still keeping the atmosphere comfortable and easygoing.

Pool, Dinner, and a Relaxed Afternoon at Sufi
Sufi Ocean Club is an easy place to slow down for an afternoon in Punta de Mita. The entrance opens into warm, open-air spaces, while the restaurant and pool create several ways to enjoy the property without rushing. I would arrive with time to walk around before settling in, especially if you want to enjoy the pool and still have an unhurried dinner. The restaurant setting feels relaxed, and the food and wine service make it a good stop for lingering at the table rather than treating it as a quick meal. Bring sun protection for the brighter outdoor areas and keep a little room in your schedule to enjoy the change in atmosphere as the day moves toward evening. The combination of design, water, and dining makes this feel like a complete coastal outing rather than a single restaurant stop.v
