Not going to Disneyland anymore! Henan turned 3,000 years of history into a theme park
Just opened on 7.18! Anyang Fantawild · Yin Shang Divine Painting | The nation’s only "Fengshen universe," finally a reason not to only visit Disneyland
📍 599 Guangming Road, Wenfeng District, Anyang, Henan | 931 acres | 11 indoor + 27 outdoor | Standard ticket 280 yuan
Honestly, as a Henan local, I’ve been waiting a long time for this park — the project was first signed in 2013, went through several rounds of construction halts and restarts, and only resumed last September. It was renamed "Yin Shang Divine Painting" and officially opened today, July 18. On opening day, I saw photos from the site: bronze-patterned gates and Xuan bird totems, the atmosphere… well, Fantawild really wants to do something different this time.
🔥 Here’s the bottom line: is this park worth rushing to?
The nation’s first high-tech theme park centered on Yin Shang culture. This "first" really counts — the IP is unique: Yin Shang history, Fu Hao, Zhou Yi, Fengshen, oracle bone script, all turned into attractions, not just slapped-on themes.
If you meet any of the following, go without hesitation:
· Interested in Fengshen/Yin Shang/IP (after all, two Fengshen movies have been hits, and the park made the Battle of Muye into a 4D ride)
· Bringing kids and want a place to cool off and learn something (oracle bone script interaction, AR pavilion, more meaningful than just thrill rides)
· Near Zhengzhou, Handan, Hebi, or Puyang, and can take a high-speed train for a day trip on the weekend
🎯 Must-try list (curated)
Indoor · cool off + cultural gain
Fengshen 4D motion ride — the Battle of Muye scene is made into a 4D track ride by Fantawild, with explosions and a giant screen. It’s one of the park’s highlights. Fengshen fans, go for it.
Legend theater phantom show — an immersive look back at the Yin Shang golden age. Three thousand years of civilization presented with phantom technology. This is a "safe bet" in the Fantawild lineup, suitable for elders and kids.
Meet Yin Shang AR experience pavilion — ⭐ this deserves special praise. It’s linked with the Yin Ruins Museum. AR scans of artifacts tell stories, so it’s like continuing your visit after seeing the ruins. Coming to Anyang without visiting the Yin Ruins and this AR pavilion is a wasted trip.
Flying dome ride — soar over the landscapes of China. A classic Fantawild ride with a Yin Shang skin. Good choice if you don’t want thrills.
Zhou Yi rotating magic ball theater — uses technology to tell the wisdom of Zhou Yi. The name alone screams "Anyang." No other Fantawild park has this.
Outdoor · thrills + photo ops
· Tribal coaster (suspended, thrilling)
· Dragon pool rafting (top choice for summer water fun, bring a raincoat)
· Giant pendulum / pirate ship (classic but fun)
· Dream carousel + corgi ride (not thrilling but great for photos, perfect for friends)
🌙 The "day + night" experience is the soul
Fantawild’s signature is night shows, and this park is no exception:
· Daytime: Yin Shang NPCs roam the park (including Da Ji and Fu Hao costumes), ancient-style parades, war drum performances, rotating shows like "Fu Hao’s expedition" and "time-travel flash mob"
· Evening: mech parades (Fengshen mechs! This concept is pretty cool), "Fengshen mech flash mob"
· Night highlight: large-scale live shows + drone shows + light shows, park closes at 9:30 PM
💡 Night ticket 129/159 yuan (varies by channel). If you only want to see the night show without waiting in line for rides, the night ticket with 4 PM entry offers the best value. For the full day + night experience, buy the 280 yuan standard ticket.

✍ Some honest thoughts
Before going, I thought it would be just another "Fantawild re-skin," but after seeing the attractions, I changed my mind — the "Meet Yin Shang" AR linked with the Yin Ruins, oracle bone script interactive corridor, Zhou Yi magic ball theater — these really use Anyang’s exclusive IP, not something any city can copy. Plus, the Fengshen IP is hot right now, and the 4D Battle of Muye is more immersive than just visiting a museum.
Of course, it just opened today, so there will be some teething issues (lines, food, shuttle service — common for new parks). I suggest either joining the opening week excitement to capture the atmosphere or waiting two weeks for crowds to settle for a better experience.
⚠ Summer weekends will be busy. For empty shots, go on weekdays. The park rents power banks at a high price, so bring your own. For rafting, bring a raincoat; buying one on-site is expensive and ugly.
Anyang is really betting on the "Yin Shang" brand this time, and the park is just one part of it. Combined with the new Yin Ruins Museum and oracle bone digitization, a trip to Anyang is like half a history lesson on the Shang and Zhou dynasties. This value is competitive among ancient cities in central China.
Friends who have been, feel free to share your experience in the comments. I’ll check the night drone show next week and update whether it’s worth the 280 yuan👇
