Qichun travel guide and discussion

Don't just think about the river breeze when visiting Huanggang in September 🍃. The first time I foolishly rushed to Bodaofeng at noon, my legs were so weak I wanted to sit down and call for help—that was true suffering. I learned my lesson later: schedule mountain trips for the morning and city tours for the evening. It makes the whole trip much more comfortable. 📷 Straight to the best photo spots, no beating around the bush The stone steps outside the Erfu Hall at Dongpo Chibi are perfect for backlit Hanfu photos 📸. For the reflection at Lingao Pavilion in Yi'ai Lake, hold your phone low against the water, wait for the wind to stop for three seconds, and then snap. The bridge as a leading line during the blue hour is stunning 🌉. Shoot the Giant Turtle Rock at the North Gate of Guifeng Mountain before 8 AM to avoid crowds. After taking the cable car up at Tiantangzhai, stand on the low wall to the left of the observation deck for the main peak's sea of clouds; framing yourself in the bottom third makes your legs look longest 🦶. Once the night lights turn on at Dongshan Wenmei Village, wear a plain-colored dress and stand on the covered bridge—it looks like a period drama without any filters. 🚌 Transportation guide Taking the high-speed train from Wuhan to Huanggang East is the easiest way. In the old town of Huangzhou, taxis are cheap enough to zip around. For Luotian Tiantangzhai and Bodaofeng, I recommend driving yourself; waiting for buses in the mountains is exhausting. For Guifeng Mountain in Macheng, you can take a train to Macheng North and transfer, but if you have a lot of luggage, don't try to save that little bit of money. Don't mix up Huanggang West and Huanggang East—I bought the wrong ticket last time and ended up riding for an extra 40 minutes; I felt so stupid 🤦‍♀️. Within the city, riding a shared bike around Yi'ai Lake and Chibi Avenue is the best way to get around—no traffic jams. Super detailed itinerary you can just copy Day 1: Leisurely stroll in Huangzhou: Dongpo Chibi Erfu Hall + Stele Gallery (approx. 1.5 hours), Dongpo pork in the old town for lunch, air-conditioned Huanggang Museum in the afternoon, loop around Yi'ai Lake in the evening, and the riverside night market at night. Day 2: Choose one mountain route: Enter Luotian Tiantangzhai early, take the scenic shuttle to the cable car, then hike to the main peak, and visit Shenxian Valley in the afternoon; OR enter Guifeng Mountain in Macheng via the North Gate, take the shuttle + cable car + turtle tower (1288 steps), and stay in Macheng on the way back. Day 3: Huangmei Dongshan Wenmei Village: Explore the park during the day and see the lights at night. If you're feeling lazy, just head back to Huangzhou to buy some crispy candy and leave. September isn't for chasing azaleas, but there are fewer crowds and the clouds are high—it's much better value than in spring. Ticket booking Dongpo Chibi: Adults 40, students 20. Booking directly on Trip.com is the most reliable 🎫. Tiantangzhai: Ticket + round-trip scenic shuttle from 103. I recommend buying online in advance on weekends; if you run into tour groups on-site, you'll be waiting forever. Seniors 70+, active-duty military, and some preferential groups get free admission but still need to pay for the shuttle. Students with ID get discounts. Guifeng Mountain: From 50. Package including shuttle, cable car, and escalator is around 89. Children under 6 or under 1.2m get free admission. Seniors 60–70 and students with ID get half-price. Bodaofeng: 70, plus transport is about 98–100. Dongshan Wenmei Village: 55. Booking on Trip.com is less stressful than dealing with scalpers at the gate. For some public welfare events, book via the cultural tourism WeChat official account, and don't leave your original ID card at the hotel. Local food recommendations Huangzhou Dongpo Pork: Red, glossy, and tender. Half-fat, half-lean, and perfect with rice. Two pieces will have you hooked 🍖 Huangzhou Shaomei: The skin is so thin it's translucent, filled with osmanthus and rock sugar. Two for breakfast with soy milk is not too sweet 😋 Macheng Meat Cake: Fish and pork ground into a paste and steamed. Sliced and boiled in soup or stir-fried with cured meat, it's chewy and delicious 🐟 Luotian Chestnut Stewed Chicken: The chestnuts are powdery and sweet in September, and the free-range chicken soup is rich. A sip after hiking will bring you back to life 🐔 Huangmei Fish Noodles: Fish ground into noodles. The soup is so fresh you'll want to lick the bowl, and stir-fried is also great 🍜 Qichun Sour Rice Noodles: Slightly sour and chewy. Stir-fried with shredded pork, it's the best appetizer, even in the lingering summer heat 🥢 Wuxue Crispy Candy: Sesame and peanut flavor. Buy small packs to take home without taking up too much space 🍪 Yingshan Cloud Mist Tea: Brew at about 80°C for a long-lasting sweet aftertaste. Don't use boiling water or it will turn bitter 🍵 Tips to avoid pitfalls To be honest: In September, Huangzhou can still reach 30°C during the day. Hiking at noon is pure suffering, so bring a hat, sunscreen, and a power bank. The weather in the mountains changes quickly; a raincoat is more useful than an umbrella. If you wear smooth-soled shoes to Bodaofeng, you'll realize how foolish that is once you step on moss and lose your mind 💥. Avoid the "sky-high" priced river fish in scenic areas. I don't recommend wild game, snake wine, or unknown medicinal meals. Definitely don't get involved with protected items; getting stopped once will ruin your whole trip. The Yi'ai Lake musical fountain is packed on weekends; go on a weekday if you want empty shots. Don't confuse Chibi with the Xianning Ancient Battlefield; make sure your navigation is set to "Huangzhou Dongpo Chibi". Drones are restricted in many parts of the Dabie Mountains; if you see signs, put it away—don't risk a fine. Staying near Yi'ai Lake is most convenient. Book your room on Trip.com three days in advance for weekends; if you go last minute, you'll be stuck outside the city and have to deal with taxis. Follow this itinerary, and you won't be exhausted, but you'll still get to embrace both Su Shi and the Dabie Mountains. When you get back, colleagues will ask if you took a vacation, but really, you just didn't do anything stupid 😎.

Quick guide Li Shizhen's Hometown is located in Qizhou Town, Qichun County, Huanggang, Hubei. It is the birthplace of the Ming Dynasty medical sage Li Shizhen. Built upon his historical legacy, it blends cultural commemoration with herbal science education. It features a memorial hall documenting his life and a park with hundreds of medicinal herbs. You can trace the legendary journey of him writing the "Compendium of Materia Medica" and get up close with various Chinese herbs. It is a great place for cultural education + relaxation. 🚗 Transportation guide Public transportation is limited, so driving is recommended. From Wuhan, take the Wuhuang Expressway, transfer to the Fuyin Expressway (towards Huangmei), and exit at Qizhou. Follow the signs to Shizhen Road in Qizhou Town, Qichun County. The destination is at 168 Shizhen Road. It is only 7.8 km from the highway exit, taking about 1.5 hours total. Parking is convenient. If using public transportation, take a high-speed train to Qichun Station, then take a taxi to the attraction (about 40 mins, approx. CNY 50). 🎫 Tickets & opening hours The core areas (Li Shizhen Memorial Hall, Sixian Square, Li Shizhen Cemetery) are free. Only the Li Shizhen Herbal Garden requires a separate adult ticket, which is affordable and can be bought on-site. Open daily from 8:00 AM–5:30 PM. It is open on Mondays and holidays with no special closures. No advance reservation is needed for free areas; just enter. 🗺️ Recommended route Here is an efficient route: Entrance > Sixian Square (first photo op) > Herbal Stele Corridor (read calligraphy and learn herb names) > Li Shizhen Memorial Hall (learn about his life) > Medicine Hall (see "Compendium of Materia Medica" collection) > Herbal Garden (identify fresh herbs) > Li Shizhen Cemetery (pay respects). The whole route is easy to walk. If you have time, visit the Herbal Garden. 📸 Must-visit photo spots Sixian Square Archway: Stand in the center and shoot upwards to frame the archway and the green mountains behind for a traditional Chinese aesthetic. Herbal Stele Corridor: Shoot along the corridor for depth, or take a close-up of a clear herb stele for a cultural vibe. Herbal Garden Observation Deck: Shoot from above to capture the layered greenery of the garden. Li Shizhen Cemetery: Take a portrait in front of the memorial stele by the tomb for a solemn and grand atmosphere. ⚠️ Tips Many herbs in the garden are labeled; please do not pick or touch them, as some may cause allergies. The free area is large, so wear comfortable flat shoes. There are not many commercial shops nearby, so bring your own water and snacks. If you only visit the core free areas, half a day is enough; no need to plan a full day. 🍜 Local food Be sure to try local specialties: Qichun mugwort dishes: Try the local home-style restaurants in town. The mugwort omelet and mugwort rice cakes are must-orders; the mugwort aroma is fresh and not bitter. Qichun medicinal cuisine: Local restaurants serve mugwort root stewed with free-range chicken. The soup is clear and nourishing. It is perfect after a long walk. 💡 Practical info The best season is spring when the herbs sprout new buds and the hills are lush green—perfect for photos. It is suitable year-round. Recommended duration: 0.5–1 day. Half a day for the core area, or a full day if you want to explore the garden in depth. Wear comfortable flat shoes. In spring, light-colored clothing pairs well with the green garden. Free guided commentary is available; follow a group to hear interesting stories.

🌧️A lifesaver during the rainy season! Moxibustion pulled me out of the dampness! 🧖‍♀️ Lately, my whole body felt like it was filled with lead, and my shoulders were so stiff I could bang a drum! 🥁 I rushed to Yuhetang for "help" 🚑~ The new Changde Road store was spotless, and I breathed a sigh of relief as soon as I walked in 🍃. I came to this well-known Shanghai brand and had a Sanfu moxibustion session arranged. They spread the moxa wool on my stomach and lit it 🔥, and the warmth slowly seeped in, like a little sun circling around my shoulders and neck 🌞~ The massage therapist's technique was incredibly steady; I just closed my eyes and relaxed like a couch potato the whole time 🐟, the warmth gradually creeping up to my toes, so comfortable I almost fell asleep 💤! The therapist gently asked how I felt at each step, without any awkward small talk, which was a huge relief for someone as socially awkward as me 😌~ They even gave me a small gift at the end, so thoughtful ❤️. Every year during the hottest days of summer, I come here without fail! Those of us who sit for long periods and always have cold hands and feet really understand – expelling cold and dampness in summer is so nourishing! I felt all the sticky residue accumulated in my body being gradually cleared away, and I felt so much lighter afterwards! A 16-year-old brand with 9 directly operated stores, many celebrities and directors secretly come here. It's the #1 best-selling brand in Hongkou District and #1 on the Huashan Health and Wellness List… its strength speaks for itself! Don't tough it out during the plum rain season! In early spring, Qichun is the perfect destination for a short trip with children or friends, where laughter soars like the wind. This light and childlike journey will take you to relax amidst Qichun's natural beauty, charming towns, and ancient streets—not only can you fly kites on open lawns, experience the thrill of rafting, enjoy the fusion of modern architecture and culture, or stroll leisurely through the towns, inhaling the scent of mugwort and immersing yourself in life. This route offers pure joy, requiring no complicated plans—just pure fun! Attractions & Highlights: First Stop | Qichun County Gymnasium & Surrounding Lawns Address: No. 33, Tiyu Road, Qichun County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province As a local hotspot for kite flying, the spacious green space outside the gymnasium is the top choice for families and friends to enjoy a short outing. Under the spring sunshine, children run and chase after kite strings, while adults temporarily forget their worries and join in, feeling the fragrance of grass carried by the wind—it's like returning to the purest days of childhood. Remember to bring your own kite, sit on the lawn, soak up the sun, and enjoy a leisurely time! Second Stop | Qichun County Cultural Center Address: No. 9 Qichang Avenue, Qichun County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province After strolling around the lawn, why not visit the cultural center to appreciate local intangible cultural heritage or art exhibitions, adding a cultural touch to your trip? The exhibition hall has a modern architectural style, and you can see the trees and flowers in the courtyard from the floor-to-ceiling windows. It has different atmospheres on rainy and sunny days, so take some Instagram-worthy photos! Third Stop | Qizhou Ancient City Address: Southern end of Qizhou Town Wander through the blue-brick alleys and antique gate towers, imagine the everyday life of the ancients, take photos of the old walls, and buy some local souvenirs. It's also a great place for a leisurely stroll, slowly exploring the corners of this ancient town and basking in the misty rain. Fourth Stop | Qichun Artemisia Town Address: Chilong Lake, Qichun County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province (Straight from Qichun Exit of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway) Opening Hours: 07:00-18:00 This town, famous for its artemisia industry, naturally exudes a subtle herbal fragrance. The town offers various creative shops and hands-on workshops, where you can buy artemisia sachets or make your own handmade gifts as unique souvenirs of your trip. Fifth Stop | Qichun Grand Canyon Rafting Address: Shangcha'an Group, Xinjieling Village, Qingshi Town, Qichun County, Huanggang City Opening Hours: June 9th - August 31st annually, 09:00 - 15:00 Come back in summer! Rafting is a popular local outdoor experience, combining natural scenery with a sense of adventure. Traversing the canyon adds a thrilling and refreshing element to this picturesque route. Accommodation Recommendation | Qichun Wanda Yihua Hotel A modern and innovative building, many rooms offer panoramic city views. The service is attentive and thoughtful, making it suitable for friends and families. Practical Tips · Kite flying is best done in the morning or evening when the wind is gentler and the sun is less intense. Even on cloudy or rainy days, you can still visit the museum or take photos of the modern architecture. · For activities on the lawn, please bring your own sunscreen, water, and snacks. Try to avoid going out on days with strong winds or heavy rain. · Qichun is mostly laid out like a small town, making it convenient to drive. Attractions are within a 15-30 minute drive. Food Recommendation The small restaurants in the alleys of the ancient town offer Qichun fish noodles, Qichun mugwort cakes, and hot dry noodles. You can also enjoy a cup of mugwort tea in Qichun Mugwort Town – all-natural and comforting. This trip taught me: simple happiness is the most precious – a kite, a patch of grass, can clear your mind and rekindle the energy of spring. Life's little joys are always hidden in these unassuming moments! #QichunTravel #SpringOutdoors #KiteAndChildhood #HubeiWeekendTrip #FamilyTravel

Li Shan Travelogue: Deep in the Dabie Mountains, a Peach Blossom Land in a Cup of Tea Starting from Caohe Town in Qichun, the car heads north, gradually leaving the town's hustle and bustle behind. The asphalt road winds up along the mountain, like a gray-green silk ribbon draped over Datong Town’s shoulder. Further in, the colors outside the window suddenly shift from gray-yellow to a deep, bottomless green—welcome to Lishan Village. Entering the Village: The Tea Fragrance Arrives Before You Before reaching the core area, the air is already filled with an indescribable fresh and slightly bitter aroma. Later, I learned it was the scent of Julongyuan Tea Garden—an ecological tea garden covering 650 acres, layered along the mountain slopes like a deep green velvet robe dressing the mountain. The village itself is surprisingly clean. White walls and black tiles, winding stone paths, folk culture walls embedded with old farming tools and vintage slogans, and under the horse-head walls stands a quiet revolutionary relic from the 1930s—this was once the cradle of the Qitai Yingxi border revolution. The Red Army Cave, Red Square, and Red Corridor still remain. But strangely, the red memories here are not heavy; instead, they blend with the tea fragrance, rooster crowing, and cooking smoke, becoming part of the village’s fundamental character. First Stop: Jiulong Palace Viewing Platform · A Panoramic View of "Tea + Lake" Climbing the small hill of Jiulong Palace, the moment you turn around is worth every drop of sweat— On the left is a thousand-acre sea of tea, rows of tea bushes neatly undulating along the contour lines. When the wind blows, the whole mountain seems alive, rolling with green waves. On the right is Xianren Lake (Datong Reservoir), a "high gorge flat lake" covering 15,000 acres with a storage capacity of 260 million cubic meters. Under the sunlight, the water shimmers like millions of silver foil pieces, with 37 small islands scattered like ink-colored chess pieces casually thrown. The integrated view of lake and mountain is compressed into a perfect wide panoramic painting at this height. Photo Tip: Best lighting from 9 to 11 AM, when the light and shadow on the tea ridges are most beautiful; wear light-colored or cotton-linen clothes to naturally match the tea mountain vibe. Second Stop: Strolling Through the Thousand-Acre Tea Sea · Spring Colors at Your Fingertips Walk slowly along the tea garden trail, passing tea pavilions, tea corridors, tea streams, tea paths, and tea streets—locally called the "Seven Tea" scenic system. Although the peak spring tea picking season (March-April) has passed, new summer tea buds are still sprouting. Pluck a tender leaf, crush it, and smell it at your nose—the fresh orchid-like fragrance is real, not just a tourist brochure claim. Passing by the Tea Museum, I took a quick tour: the full process from picking green leaves → withering → fixing → rolling → shaping → drying is displayed, along with the history of Qichun tea in pictures and text. In half an hour, you can turn the name "Julongyuan" into a story. The giant teapot sculpture at the entrance is a popular photo spot—slightly kitschy but surprisingly harmonious with the tea mountain backdrop. If you visit during spring tea season, the tea picking experience is a must—plucking buds by hand, watching the tea frying pan in action, and tasting a freshly brewed cup of high mountain organic green tea, with a refreshing, non-bitter aftertaste. Third Stop: Julong Bridge & Iron Chain Bridge · Two Rhythms of the Mountain Village Descending from the tea mountain, head to the water system at the village foot. Julong Bridge is a stone arch ancient bridge style, with creek water flowing gently underneath. The green shade on both banks hangs low, and standing on the bridge, the scene naturally carries a classical filter of "withered vines, old trees, and crows at dusk." Next to it is an iron chain bridge that sways slightly when you walk on it. Below are shallow streams and stones—perfect for kids to splash in during summer. At the end of the bridge is a stone path leading to the rows of houses where villagers live. Roosters and dogs can be heard, elders sit at their doorsteps picking vegetables, and time here clearly moves slower than in the city. Lunch: "Rustic Philosophy" by the Farmhouse Stove Had a meal at a local farmhouse restaurant—the ingredients need no embellishment: · Xianren Lake Fish Head Soup: milky white, fresh without needing MSG · Tea Leaf Braised Pork: tea fragrance cuts the greasiness, a unique Lishan recipe · Stir-fried cured meat with mountain bamboo shoots, farmhouse crispy rice, and seasonal vegetables all freshly picked from the courtyard One bowl warms you from the stomach to your back. This kind of "delicious" isn’t refined cuisine; it’s clean, honest, and full of wok aroma. Fourth Stop: By Xianren Lake · Let the Lake Breeze Daydream for You Spent a long time in the afternoon at the lake-view pavilion and the waterside platform. Datong Reservoir was built in 1958, with a "wooden core wall" dam technology (claimed to be China’s first and the world’s second). But these engineering feats are far less important than the view before you—the wide lake surface, mountain shadows sinking, a bird occasionally flying by, ripples breaking and slowly restoring the reflection. The lakeside trail is flat and easy, perfect for a leisurely stroll. If you want to play in the water, boating is a paid activity, but sitting on the shore and enjoying the breeze is a full-score experience. A Pause Before Leaving: Red Lishan Is More Than Just a Slogan Before leaving, I stopped by the Red Square and Red Army Cave area. Lishan’s red history isn’t staged for show; it’s embedded in the village’s very bones—former sites of the Qichun County CPC Committee and Datong Special Soviet Government are here. The story of the old party secretary Tian Xiangsen guarding the mountain for 42 years is also displayed in the village exhibition. You’ll understand why this once poorest village in northern Qichun could transform into a national civilized village and a 4A scenic spot through a single tea leaf—the trust between people and the mountain is its true attraction. Practical Information (For Those Who Want to Visit) Item Details Location Lishan Village, Datong Town, Qichun County, about 55 km from the county seat Admission Free entry and free parking How to Get There Best by car: Caohe → S205 → Datong Town → Lishan (about 1.5 hours mountain road, good asphalt road) Duration Half-day for a quick visit / full day for a slow tour recommended Best Season Spring (March-May) tea picking + flower season / Autumn (September-November) cool and dry for drying tea Accommodation Local homestays about 100-200 RMB/night, with tea mountain views from the window; main scenic area hotels and homestays are completed and expected to open soon What to Bring Light jacket (cool mornings and evenings in the mountains), sun protection, mosquito repellent, comfortable shoes Combined Itinerary + Wuyun Mountain Terraces (30 min) + Daxin Bay/Xianren Lake boating + Jingou Canyon Waterfall, suitable for a two-day trip In a nutshell: Lishan Village is not a place dense with "attractions"; its charm lies precisely in its spaciousness—the green tea ridges, the shimmering lake, the slow stone paths, the warmth of the farmhouse stove—all are unhurried. You don’t need to rush; time will come to find you. Just like the short but sufficient phrase written on the village wall: "See the mountains, gaze at the water, remember it all."

Travel Notes of Puyang Scenic Area, Li Shizhen Medical Culture Tourism Zone, Qichun County Setting off early from Qichun County, it took less than half an hour by car to reach the destination of this trip—the Li Shizhen Medical Culture Tourism Zone’s Puyang Scenic Area. Even before entering, a faint and elegant herbal fragrance subtly drifted in, instantly isolating the city’s hustle and bustle. The entrance gate of the scenic area is simple and solemn, with the three large characters “Puyang Guan” standing especially dignified in the morning light. Stepping inside feels like stepping into another time and space. Rather than just a scenic spot, this place is a spiritual sanctuary integrating Taoist temples, traditional Chinese medicine culture, and garden art. Walking slowly along the bluestone path, the first sight is the Medicine King Hall. Inside the hall stands a statue of the medical sage Li Shizhen, holding a scroll, his gaze kind yet profound, as if still pondering over a medicinal herb in the Compendium of Materia Medica. On both sides of the hall are displays of various Chinese herbal specimens, from common goji berries and angelica to Qichun’s unique qiai (mugwort). Each herb is accompanied by detailed descriptions of its medicinal properties. Here, the abstract concept of “medical way” transforms into tangible plants, inspiring deep respect for the wisdom and dedication of the ancient sages. Passing through the Medicine King Hall leads to the core building complex of Puyang Guan. The main hall features flying eaves and intricate dougong brackets, grand in scale. Amidst the swirling incense smoke, the clear chanting of Taoist priests can be heard. Unlike ordinary Taoist temples, the cultural displays here are closely connected with medicine. The corridor murals tell stories of Li Shizhen’s herb trials and medical writings; in the side hall is the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Hall,” where veteran Chinese doctors offer simple health consultations to visitors, vividly embodying the philosophy of “following the natural way, combining medicine and nurturing.” What captivated me most was the Hundred Herbs Garden behind the temple. This garden, built along the mountain’s terrain, is planted with hundreds of medicinal plants. In early summer, mint, honeysuckle, and fish mint flourish, lush and vibrant. Each section has signboards not only naming the plants but also including original excerpts from the Compendium of Materia Medica and modern efficacy notes. Walking along the winding paths, smelling the mixed herbal fragrance, and touching dew-covered leaves, one can almost feel Li Shizhen’s perseverance and passion as he trekked mountains and rivers to identify herbs. Resting in a pavilion in the garden, overlooking the entire scenic area, the halls, gardens, and distant mountains layer harmoniously as one. Suddenly, the profound meaning of “Puyang” became clear—to spread sunlight and benefit all beings. This is not only the pursuit of Taoism but also the essence of medical philosophy. Li Shizhen’s medical spirit and Taoist ideas of harmony between heaven and humanity perfectly blend here, teaching people how to follow nature and regulate body and mind. When leaving, the sun was setting in the west. Looking back at Puyang Guan in the dusk, the flying eaves were edged with a golden glow, peaceful and serene. This trip was not just a visit to a scenic spot but a dialogue about life and health. What I took away was not only a few photos but also a heart full of tranquility and a new appreciation for traditional medical culture.

Hubei Qichun Li Shizhen Cultural Tourism Area officially opens the immersive experience "Herbal Jianghu City." This Ming and Qing dynasty-style market town, centered around the spirit of the Compendium of Materia Medica, is located by the Chilon Lake in Qiai Town. Relying on authentic ancient architecture clusters and intangible cultural heritage of Qiai, it creates a living cultural tourism space that is participatory, fluid, and narrative-driven. Upon entering the city, visitors receive a "silver note" and transform into escort heroes, medicine-seeking doctors, poetry scholars, or martial arts suitors, retracing the footsteps of Li Shizhen amidst the lively atmosphere. 【Ming Dynasty Escort Agency · Fully Immersive Interactive Drama】 Receive escorts, encounter ambushes, make choices—use herbal knowledge in literary battles and decide victories with martial arts finger-guessing; report to officials or pay money? Will the constable appear? The storyline is up to you, learning the nuances of human relationships and wisdom in the Jianghu world. 【Dream-seeking Li Shizhen · Challenge Levels】 Challenges based on Li Shizhen’s life: Herbal Transport (deliver herbs according to a list and get stamps), Medicine Procurement at the Mansion (bargain to buy and keep the silver), Scent Identification (use your sense of smell to recognize authentic herbs). Each level is a deep dialogue with the medical saint across four centuries. 【Silver Note Circulation System】 Silver notes can be exchanged for bamboo dragonflies, lollipops, given to beggars for spontaneous thank-you phrases, auctioned for rare items, or bet to win blessings; silver coins and silver notes are mutually exchangeable, making transactions warm and human connections tangible. 【Wandering NPC Encounter System】 Patrolling constables randomly inspect, county office summons visitors as witnesses, plaintiffs, or defendants, peddlers give gifts with jokes, martial arts suitor contests open regularly—stories around every corner, friendships at every stop. Jianghu is not far away; it is right here in Qichun on this stretch of bluestone road, in a wisp of mugwort fragrance, and in every choice you make. Come to Qichun and start your unique journey now!

Henggang Mountain Forest Park is located at the junction of Wuxue, Qichun, and Huangmei, and is a famous Buddhist and Taoist sacred mountain in eastern Hubei. With an elevation of 815 meters and a high forest coverage rate, it offers both the Zen atmosphere of ancient temples and the magnificent spectacle of a sea of clouds. This guide helps you plan a one-day itinerary combining "pilgrimage + hiking + sightseeing." 1. Basic Information and Preparation · Ticket Policy: Currently, the main entrance ticket is free; internal shuttle buses (sightseeing cars) require an additional fee (about 20 RMB per person). · Opening Hours: Approximately 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM (subject to the park’s daily announcement). · Transportation: · Self-driving (recommended): Navigate to "Wuxue Henggang Mountain Forest Park," take the Red Tourism Road directly to the mountain gate parking lot, parking fee about 10 RMB/day. · Bus: Take the "Wuxue—Yuchuan/Meichuan" bus from Wuxue Bus Station, then taxi or walk up the mountain from the foot. · Essentials: Non-slip sports shoes (stone steps may be mossy), drinking water, some snacks, a jacket (it’s windy at the summit), and a power bank. 2. Full-Day Itinerary Timeline (about 6-8 hours) 08. 00-09:00 Arrival and Entry Depart from Wuxue city center, about a 1-hour drive to the south gate of the park. It’s recommended to start early to avoid crowds. After entering, take the sightseeing bus to near "First Heaven Gate" to save energy for hiking in the core area. 09. 00-12:00 Core Pilgrimage Route (Cultural Highlights) This is the park’s core area; it’s recommended to walk in the following order: 1. First Heaven Gate → Second Heaven Gate: Walk the ancient post road, feel the "ascending to heaven" atmosphere, with cliff inscriptions along the way. 2. Linyin Temple/Yungai Temple Area: Founded in the Sui and Tang dynasties, it is a bustling place of worship. Focus on visiting the Zhenwu Hall and the Great Hero Hall to experience the unique coexistence of Buddhism and Taoism. 3. She Shen Cliff: Near Linyin Temple, this cliffside viewing platform is the best spot for photographing the sea of clouds and panoramic mountain views. Cautious visitors should avoid getting too close to the edge. 12. 00-13:00 Light Lunch and Rest at the Summit The temples at the summit (such as Linyin Temple) sometimes offer simple vegetarian meals (about 10-15 RMB), or you can bring your own snacks to eat at the viewing platform. The lighting is good at this time, ideal for spending more time photographing at She Shen Cliff. 13. 00-15:30 Nature Hiking Route (Tianzhu Peak Challenge) From the temple cluster, head toward the main peak; this route is somewhat challenging: · Route: Pass through Zhunti Hall and Dashige Pavilion, then climb Tianzhu Peak (main peak, 815m). Some sections are steep and require using hands and feet, but the summit offers an excellent "overlooking all mountains" view. · Alternative Easy Route: If you lack stamina, skip the summit and take the loop trail toward the "Fourth Patriarch Zen Courtyard," which is flat and suitable for leisure hiking. 15:30-16:30 Descend and Return Return the same way to the parking lot or take the sightseeing bus down. If time permits, enjoy "Henggang Fish Head" or wild vegetables at a farmhouse restaurant at the foot of the mountain before heading back to Wuxue city. 3. In-Depth Analysis of Core Attractions Linyin Temple (Yungai Temple): A must-visit. Not only a place for blessings but also the best backdrop for viewing the sea of clouds. Legend says the Fourth Patriarch of Zen, Daoxin, once practiced here, giving it a profound historical atmosphere. She Shen Cliff: The prime photography spot. The cliff is steep with wide views; on clear days, you can see the Yangtze River and Wuxue’s urban and rural areas. After rain, the sea of clouds often creates a fairyland effect. Tianzhu Peak: A hiker’s choice. The climb requires some physical strength but rewards with a 360° panoramic view, perfect for visitors seeking a sense of conquest. Strange Rock Formations: Along the way, look out for shaped stones like the "Turtle Carrying Sutra Stone" and "Peach Stone," adding fun to the hike. 4. Practical Tips and Pitfall Warnings Best Viewing Time: Early morning (before 8 AM) and right after rain are the best times to see the sea of clouds, with soft light and fewer people. Road Condition Warning: The mountain road is winding and steep; novice drivers should drive cautiously or take the park shuttle bus. Spending Tips: Mountain shops are few and expensive, so bring enough water. If villagers offer to guide you, confirm if there is a fee first. Seasonal Recommendations: Enjoy azaleas in spring, escape the heat in summer (3-5°C cooler than the city), admire colorful forests in autumn, and see snow scenes in winter. Suitable all year round. Henggang Mountain is a "small but beautiful" hidden gem. One day is enough to deeply experience its unique charm of "half temple, half forest sea." Have a great time in Wuxue!

The Taihu section of the Hubei Taiqi Expressway has officially opened, marking the full connection of the Qi-Tai Expressway. The route starts from Qichun County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and ends at Chengxi Township, Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, with a total length of about 119 kilometers. The Hubei section is 74.271 kilometers long, and the Anhui section is 44.976 kilometers. It is built to a dual four-lane standard with a design speed of 100 km/h. As the fourth expressway connecting Hubei and Anhui provinces after the Wuying, Huanghuang, and Mawu Expressways, the travel time from Qichun to Taihu has been reduced from 3 hours to 1 hour, significantly improving regional traffic efficiency. The eastern section of Qichun in Hubei has implemented narrow island toll stations, no booths, and reduced staff management, serving as a smart expressway demonstration project. After the Taiqi Expressway opens, it can effectively divert traffic pressure during the construction of the Huyu Expressway, providing a better option for Spring Festival travel and daily commuting. The construction and advancement of this new route will further optimize the traffic structure between Hubei and surrounding provinces and metropolitan areas, enhance the overall efficiency of the road network, and bring substantial convenience to public travel and regional economic integration.

Qichun! No. 188 Lishizhen Avenue!! Who doesn't know about this fully smart hotel infused with Lishizhen culture??? If you're coming to Qichun, this is the one to book 😭 The cost-performance ratio is truly maxed out!!! Friends planning to visit Qichun, you can book it with your eyes closed 💕 🌟 Extra-large family room 🌟 This time, I stayed with my wife and daughter in the family room, and it really amazed me! The room is unbelievably spacious, especially that huge bed where my daughter rolled around and had so much fun. The room design is thoughtful, incorporating many cultural elements of Lishizhen, which is both interesting and educational. At night, you can enjoy the beautiful view outside the window, which is so relaxing 😌 🌿 The perfect blend of nature and culture 🌿 The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is close to the Lishizhen Medical Culture Tourism Area. Taking a morning walk, the air is fresh and the scenery pleasant. My daughter especially loves playing in the nearby park and can also learn some knowledge about Lishizhen. Such parent-child time is truly precious ✨ 💁 Service 🔸 The front desk staff are super friendly and even took the time to introduce the hotel's features and nearby attractions when we checked in. 🔸 The hotel offers a free children's playground where my daughter didn't want to leave, which was both convenient and joyful 😊 🔸 There is a dedicated person cleaning the room every day, keeping it hygienic and making us feel very comfortable. This trip to Qichun became especially memorable thanks to the company of Qichun Xiyue Aijia Grand Hotel. From the environment to the service, every detail made us feel warm and comfortable. When leaving, I really felt a bit reluctant. I hope next time I come to Qichun, I will have the chance to stay here again. ❤️
