1. From Guilin city: 2h15min, via Quannan Expressway → Quanzhou West Exit → Caiwan Town → County Road X131 directly to Chapingshui Hotel
2. From Foshan/Guangdong by car: 3.5–4h highway direct to Quanzhou
3. Parking: Free parking at Chapingshui Hotel; regular cars cannot reach the reservoir dam due to last 4km of gravel farm road, SUVs can pass; small cars park at hotel, then hike or take a shuttle van (50 RMB/van round trip to reservoir)
4. Road conditions: Mountain single-lane road with many curves, prone to falling rocks in rain, slow down when meeting oncoming vehicles

1. High-speed train to Quanzhou South Station, then carpool for 50 RMB directly to Chapingshui Hotel; rural buses are very infrequent and inconvenient for return trips

· Full track: Chapingshui Reservoir dam → farm road forest → Altay Window check-in point → ridge meadows → Zhenbaoding summit (2123m) → Zhenbaoding Reservoir (Guangxi Altay) → fir forest → return to Chapingshui start

7. Safety and Pitfall Warnings
1. No solo hiking, at least 3 people together, share route and return time with family/friends before departure
2. Immediately retreat in thunderstorms, ridges are exposed and prone to lightning strikes; stop summit climb in heavy fog to avoid getting lost
3. Many forked paths, must download offline track, don’t rely only on red ribbon markers
4. No trash bins on route, carry out all garbage to protect alpine ecology
5. Huge temperature difference day and night at summit, bring windproof jacket even in summer to prevent hypothermia
6. No swimming in reservoir or mountain streams, water is deep with complex currents
