Quimper is a city in the Brittany countryside, three hours northwest of Paris by train.
Famous for its pottery, this charming town, while not particularly large, evokes a Disney-like medieval European atmosphere.
Although less well-known,
Brittany is also home to many delicacies, including crepes and galettes,
cider, Breton pastries, and mussels.
Escape the tourist-filled streets of Paris and spend a relaxing weekend in rural Brittany.
Transportation is well-developed, making it easy to visit.
The church can be seen from the top of the hill,
and the river flowing nearby makes this a beautiful town.

Quiet Charms of Quimperlé | Daylight Stillness to Golden Dusk
#holidayitinerary
Quimperlé is a small, tranquil town in Brittany that whispers rather than shouts. When I visited, the main cathedral was closed, and the streets were nearly empty — just the occasional passerby and the soft rustling of leaves. Yet there was something deeply peaceful about the quietude, as if time itself had slowed. As the day faded into dusk, the golden light cast a warm glow over the old stone buildings, making the empty town feel like a living postcard. It may not be bustling, but Quimperlé’s stillness is its own kind of beauty.

An oasis in the city
The le Jardin de la retraite was just the perfect stop we needed. Especially to shelter from the heat. While walking around and exploring the city of quimper, should you want to relax for a while. This will be a great stop. You are not going to have too far out.
The location is right in the city but by a river. It's got very well maintained garden with tropical plans. I liked the benches in the park. Very relaxing to have found one in the shade. Now what was not so relaxing is the scum called youth or students to be more specific. Much worse, french it seemed, smoking and playing music on the phone. Truly a moment of Vivelafrance!

Spectacular Gothic Cathedral
Such a joy to experience a beauty like the cathedral of st. corentin in Quimper. Excellent example of the Breton gothic architecture. On of the most beautiful monuments in all of Brittany. The stained glass windows are a captivating sight. Never fails to draw your attention.
While the art and interiors are old dated to 19th century, the huilding has a change in the nave direction. There is informational given about it's construction through the interactive screen placed outside. If and when in quimper, I would highly recommend making a stop here.
