Azerbaijan Shahdag Ski Trip~ The Italian restaurant selected by Autograph is amazing
For ski enthusiasts, there is nothing more exciting than the arrival of winter! The Greater Caucasus Mountains are draped in white until the end of March, turning into a snowy paradise~ Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, has attracted the attention of many European ski lovers in recent years. They have shifted their focus from the Alps to this top skiing destination. Just a three-hour drive from the capital Baku, you can find satisfying ski slopes!
In Azerbaijan, there are two prime skiing destinations, Shahdag and Guba~ Shahdag boasts upscale hotels, spas, and restaurants, along with numerous thrilling sports and leisure activities that will make your winter holiday dreams come true! This time, I stayed at the Shahdag Pik Palace Hotel, an Autograph Collection, and right next to it is the Shahdag Park Chalet Hotel - an Autograph Collection. Both hotels offer great value for money~ and share ski slopes that extend for 17 kilometers. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier, you can find the right slope for yourself here. Additionally, the two hotels share several restaurants~ among them, the Scalini Italian restaurant at Pik Palace is very good, with great flavors and generous portions! The fried veal cutlet is so big that two people can't finish it.
We stayed in a refined suite at Pik Palace, with a living room balcony that opens up to the magnificent snow-capped mountains and ski slopes. Downstairs, there are two swimming pools, indoor and outdoor~ the steaming outdoor pool faces the snow mountains, which is incredibly beautiful! After staying for a few days, I couldn't help but exclaim! I've really discovered a treasure of a hotel!
Besides skiing~ you can also experience a variety of activities here, such as hiking, paragliding, horse riding, off-roading, and cable car trips overlooking the magnificent mountains. If interested~ you can also visit the nearby village of Laza, a beautifully scenic small village that is perfect for hiking, and in winter, you can see many frozen waterfalls.
