### Great Location but Can Be Noisy
This three-star hotel is located right by the port in beautiful Alcudia, just 150 meters from the beach. The shallow waters are ideal for small children, and for those who want to swim, walking a bit further to the first pier reveals Platja de Alcudia in all its beauty. The proximity to Alcudia's bustling tourist area, where you can shop, take evening or nighttime strolls along the promenade, or explore the town, is a significant advantage.
However, the location comes with one major downside: noise. The hotel is situated by a busy street, and although I stayed on the 5th floor where it seemed like it would be quieter, I still found the street noise disruptive. Buses frequently stop right in front of the hotel, dropping off or picking up tourists, especially from Hotel Globales or the hotel across the street. They usually idle for several minutes, creating a lot of noise. While tolerable during the day, it becomes very bothersome at night. Another disturbance comes from garbage collection, with trash bins being emptied at around 7:00-7:30 AM and again near midnight, often involving noisy glass disposal.
The rooms vary in size and quality. I stayed in a standard double room on the left side of the building (looking from the front), right by the street. To reduce noise, I recommend opting for a superior room on a higher floor on the right side. Superior rooms have been renovated and offer a better standard. The bathroom had basic toiletries, and towels were replaced three times during my stay. The spacious balcony, with a table and chairs, added convenience, as did the laundry rack. The two separate beds were reasonably comfortable. However, there was no fridge, and the safe was available for an extra fee. The central air conditioning worked well, and cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent.
As for the food, while I'm somewhat picky, there was generally something good to eat. The food was fresh, with a good selection of fruits, tasty bread, and decent coffee. Desserts, while colorful, lacked flavor, and the cakes were average. Still, for a three-star hotel, the variety was commendable, offering daily servings of meat, fish, pasta, salads, cheeses, and excellent soups. Self-serve drinks like juice, cola, water, beer, and wine during meals were a nice touch. The dining staff was efficient and friendly.
At the bar, all beverages, including beer, wine, sangria, and cocktails, were served in plastic cups, which felt less elegant when not by the pool. Drinks served in glasses were available at an additional charge. Snacks such as pizza, hamburgers, fresh fruits, cookies, and small tubs of ice cream were available from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The bar itself remained open until midnight. The quality of beer and white wine was good, but cocktails were pre-made. For instance, I ordered a margarita and saw the bartender pour it from a pre-prepared mix.
The hotel also provided evening entertainment, such as bingo, performances, and flamenco, which were enjoyable. A Spanish-themed dance night would be a welcome addition. However, I did notice a lack of greenery around the hotel. The outdoor area is mostly tiled, with no flowers or plants to create a warm, holiday ambiance.
The pool was small for a hotel of this size, limiting its relaxation appeal. That said, daily water aerobics sessions attracted many guests, thanks to the energetic and cheerful activity organizer.
In summary, expect daily noise if you stay here. Opting for an upgraded superior room on a higher floor on the right side will help minimize disturbances. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the location—close to the beach, buses, the town center, and the promenade—is ideal for a beach holiday or sightseeing. Being someone who enjoys such vacations, I don't regret my choice to stay here, even with its drawbacks.
