Aman-i-Khás 2026 Adventure Journey
This year, Aman-i-Khás opens a new chapter with a fresh look, continuing its legend on the edge of Ranthambore National Park. With the addition of two new Grand Tented Pool Pavilions and one Tented Pool Pavilion, the total number of camp tents has increased to 13, further enhancing Aman’s signature comfort and privacy. Meanwhile, a series of brand-new exclusive activities and experiences—from inspired dining to nature-inspired wellness—perfectly echo the deep meaning behind the camp’s name: “Aman” is derived from Sanskrit, meaning “peace,” while “Khás” means “special” in Hindi.
Refreshed Accommodation Experience
The new Grand Tented Pool Pavilion, covering 256 square meters, is the largest room type in the camp. Staying here feels like being in a spacious hotel suite but with the unique atmosphere under towering canvas domes. The pavilion features a heated outdoor pool, an enclosed open-air sun deck, spacious living and dining areas, and a bathroom with full spa facilities. Guests can enjoy outdoor dining under the stars or relax leisurely by the pool. The Tented Pool Pavilion, bathed in abundant natural light and covering 164 square meters, offers a private plunge pool, extending comfort and ease in the wilderness.
Outdoor Adventures and Cultural Discoveries
Aman-i-Khás is renowned for its wildlife viewing experiences in Ranthambore, including encounters with the elusive Bengal tiger. However, the camp’s offerings go beyond jungle adventures, extending into the culture, landscapes, and culinary traditions of Rajasthan.
The vast fields surrounding the camp hold rich exploration possibilities. During the cooler season, the Surwal Lake Excursion leads guests into a vibrant bird world, where over 200 species of resident and migratory birds gather in the wetlands. Departing before sunrise with a professional guide, guests can spot bar-headed geese, kingfishers, hoopoes, teals, and pelicans, followed by sipping Indian chai and enjoying traditional sweets by the water, savoring peaceful moments.
The surrounding scenery also serves as a time tunnel to royal history. About a 90-minute drive from the camp, the Fort & The River experience takes guests to Khandar Fort, perched atop a plateau. Walking along winding paths to a magnificent viewpoint, guests slowly unfold ancient temples, stepwells, and palace ruins embraced by nature. The journey continues to the Chambal River—one of Rajasthan’s few remaining natural waterways. Here, a short cruise offers encounters with crocodiles, turtles, and rare birds, accompanied by a chef-prepared lunch overlooking the canyon.
For a deeper exploration of this protected waterway, a private two-hour cruise can be arranged. Boarding a Bayliner yacht with a naturalist guide, guests navigate through water-eroded gorges and fields, with chances to spot rare river dolphins, followed by lunch by the riverbank.
For those wishing to trace royal history more intimately, a horse safari on the legendary Marwari horses offers a unique way to traverse this land and its long history. This elegant breed, once cherished by Rajput royalty for its loyalty and endurance, carries guests across undeveloped fields, picturesque lakes, and tranquil villages, as if traveling through time.
At dusk, a deeper exploration of nature’s beauty unfolds under Rajasthan’s vast night sky. Led by an astronomer, the Cosmic Safari uses a high-performance eight-inch Dobsonian telescope to guarantee viewing at least four to six major celestial bodies during an hour-long observation, including the moon, planets, nebulae, galaxies, and various constellations.
Wellness in the Wilderness
Beyond adventure, daily life at Aman-i-Khás intertwines with rhythms of body and mind restoration, inspired by ancient Indian healing traditions. After daytime exploration, the Ayurvedic Herbal Poultice Massage soothes body and mind with warm herbal oils, guiding guests into profound tranquility. Aromatic baths using fresh herbs from the camp’s organic garden can also be arranged for private, relaxing enjoyment in the pavilion. Beneath the lush canopy, the open-air fitness area is equipped with modern training and exercise equipment, crafted by local artisans to harmonize every movement with nature’s rhythm and scenery.
The newly introduced water yoga platform, set above the camp’s pond, creates a spacious and serene environment for morning practice or meditation. Floating on the water and surrounded by sounds from the national park, it offers various mind-body classes: Pranayama breathing techniques help regulate and increase oxygen intake, correcting breathing patterns to release stress; meditation classes create inner space to gradually dissolve surface tension and enhance focus; private yoga sessions combine breathwork with specific postures to improve flexibility and deeply massage internal organs, promoting circulation. Guests can also enjoy these sessions in the privacy and comfort of their own pavilion.
Culinary Experiences
Aman-i-Khás’s dining experience unfolds as richly and naturally as its magnificent landscapes, paying tribute to Rajasthan’s flavors, traditions, and royal history through a culinary journey. Newly launched this season, the Machan Dining invites guests to step into an extraordinary 20-foot-high treetop platform—an inspiration drawn from royal hunting stands in Indian jungles. Here, guests immerse themselves in a private feast reminiscent of historic hunting banquets, with traditional rustic dishes prepared over open flames by a dedicated butler and chef.
Families can embark on a culinary adventure together—an immersive cooking class experience beginning at a local market, where the chef accompanies guests to select seasonal ingredients, followed by herb picking in the organic garden back at camp. After preparing a North Indian feast, adult guests can enjoy wine pairings, while younger guests savor healthy smoothies or non-alcoholic cocktails crafted by the camp’s mixologist.
As night falls, the camp’s fields transform once again into the stage for Forest Dining. Guided by lantern light, guests arrive to a warm welcome from the chef and watch traditional naan bread being made in a tandoor oven. This is followed by a series of dishes served sequentially, including fragrant soups and kebabs, accompanied by the enchanting sounds of wildlife.
With the unveiling of new pavilions and a rich array of cultural, culinary, wellness, and nature adventure experiences, Aman-i-Khás will continue to deepen its wilderness resort experience in the coming year.
