2024 Republic of Karelia Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)

Kizhi island is a lovely place to visit. There are many old buildings and they all have a fascination. We visited a lovely old farmhouse and were treated to some lovely singing (of a Marian anthem) by a group of orthodox men. We also saw a man who was carving wooden shingles with an axe (and was selling ones which had been decorated with a watercolour). #wintergetaway #wintergetaway
