One of the most outstanding architectural symbols of Reus and part of the Modernist route
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Tarragona (Region)
covers the city's rich modernist heritage. The house is pleasantly surprised by the rich mosaics and stained glass. It's impossible not to be amazed by the corners and rich details of this house. The architect's infinite design breaks away from people's limited thinking.
Casa Navas is a gem of Catalan modernism and a must-see if you love architecture.
A unique experience that everyone should experience at least once. One of the most beautiful modernist buildings in Catalonia. A real gem by Domènech i Montaner.
In addition, the city center of Reus has a lot of interesting and beautiful modernist buildings, historical sites, the Gaudí Route and the Absinthe Route that are worth knowing. Everything is very close and easy to get to.

Free Gaudí Architecture Museum
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Tarragona (Region)
Housed in the same building as the tourist office, this museum is dedicated to Gaudí's life and work. There is also an explanatory video. There are several floors, each of which explains Antoni Gaudi's project and construction methods. The museum is well thought out and has an audio guide for easy access. If you go to Reus, you must visit this museum.

Reus is not only the birthplace of Gaudí but also one of the most culturally vibrant towns in Catalonia.
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Tarragona (Region)
Visitors can start the route at Plaza Prim, home to the beautiful Fortuny Theater, and then walk along Calle Montrolles to Plaza de la Mercadal, where they’ll see Casa Navas, a modernist gem designed by Domenech Montaner that still features its original, period coffered ceilings and light fixtures. The Gaudí Centre is also located here. From the Mercadal, continuing along Carrer Major, visitors will reach the Reading Centre, a popular library that houses a valuable library and interesting artwork. The Gothic church on the Plaza Sant Pere dates back to the 16th century and features an impressive octagonal bell tower from which you can see the entire Costa del Sol. The two most important museums in Reus are the Salvador Vilaseca Archaeological Museum and the Regional History Museum, which houses paintings and drawings by Maria Fortuny and sculptures by Joan Rebull.
If you're interested in Gaudí, you can follow a route around Reus to visit the house where he was born or the church where he was baptized, with the final stop being the Gaudí Centre: 1,200 square meters of exhibition dedicated to his work.
Two other interesting tourist routes are the Modernist Route – a stroll through Reus visiting nearly 80 Modernist buildings, such as the iconic Pere Mata College – or the Absinthe Route.
If you want to learn more about Gaudí and other artists such as Miró and Picasso in the Costa Dorada and Ebro regions, we recommend you take the Genius Landscape Route.

A modernist dream in Reus
About one hour drive south from Barcelona, the small city of Reus, is a cradle for modernist architecture.
This city is not only the birthplace of the genius Antoni Gaudí, but it also has Europe’s most stunning interior of a modernist building: Casa Navàs.
Designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner, one of the most prominent architects of the time - with Gaudí’s permission of course - this monument boasts the largest amount of colored stain glass all over European modernist artworks.
Casa Navàs is located in the central square of Reus, walking distance from the train station or most of parking spaces in town. It can be visited through a guided tour that lasts about 1 hour.
In this tour you will learn about Reus’ industrial past and the bourgeois family who used to own this house. It is also a great experience to understand the inspiration behind its rich decoration as well as the rational usage of architectural elements and glass in order to allow for natural light to come into the house.
