2024 Rio de Janeiro Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)
Affectionately knew as the "Marvelous city" among locals, Rio de Janeiro is indeed a spectacular sight to behold. Founded in 1565, Rio has risen to become one of the most famous cities in Brazil, and was in fact the capital of this far reaching country up until 1960. There are a lot of iconic features associated with Rio, of which the Christ The Redeemer statue perched overlooking the city might be the most striking. Another popular Rio feature, is the annual Carnival celebration. One of the biggest and most eccentric parties the world over, Carnival is just before Lent, and is tolerated by the within the Roman Catholic Church as a get-it-all-out-of-your-system new party. The natural landscape around Rio is spectacular, with numerous peaks surrounding their unique harbor helping it to land a spot on the list of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. There are dozens of historic and modern attractions throughout the city, although it's still advisable to steer clear of the faults, or slums. Still, if you are looking for fun and excitement, this city is part of the best such options in all of South America.

It was one of my dream for a long time!
And when in was foggy and rainy for 3 days in the row, I was so disappointed, but finally rain stopped
Breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking. I would wait until maybe the second or third day to have a better idea of what you’re looking at, but it almost doesn’t matter because Christ the Redeemer steals the show. It’s the most beautiful view ever! I did the shortest tour possible to save money. I think it was just supposed to be a few minutes. It seemed like much longer than that!!! It’s a MUST DO!
Price is 196$ per adult
20 minutes ride
Priceless memories!

Savior Christ
Visiting the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro was a spiritual and enchanting experience. When I reached the summit of Corcovado Mountain, I found myself humbly standing in front of the majestic statue that grandly crowns the city at its peak. The view from the top was captivating.
There, she enjoyed the open views of Rio de Janeiro and its surrounding areas.
I felt happy.
Going out and traveling always improves our overall mood.
And I stood beside the statue that symbolizes faith and tolerance. I took souvenir photos and meditated on the beauty of the architectural and engineering art of this magnificent statue. Visiting the statue of Christ the Redeemer was an unforgettable experience because it left me with contemplation and inspiration in front of the beauty of this world and faith. 🙏
Highlights of Ipanema Beach at Rio!
The top two beaches to visit while in Rio is definitely the Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach.
Ipanema beach has a more lively vibes and is the best beach for workout, jogging, hiking and all other sorts of sports activities. You can hike up to the top of the cliff to have a bird’s eye view of the whole stretch of the beach. Enjoy a stroll on the beach, take a swim and also have a glass or two of the infamous caipirinha drinks to get you started.

Copacabana Beach is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Brazilians often call this world-famous beach Princesinha do Mar (Little Princess of the Sea). If you’re planning a trip to Rio de Janeiro, you absolutely have to visit Copacabana Beach. The beach is one of the cultural hubs of the city.
I recommend that you rent a beach bed and listen to some bossa nova music while you drink a caipirinha(national cocktails of Brazil) or two. strolling down on the promenade is also very enjoyable at the same time exploring the historic fort, or walking along its golden sands, Copacabana Beach is a must-see destination in Brazil.
The beach life in Rio
Travelled to Rio de Janerio and it is one of the most beautiful cities that I’ve ever visited in my life. I cannot name another city where there is the beaches, the sea, and the mountains coexisting in the same time. Simply just stunning. I spent days just lazing by the beach and at the JW Marriott Rio De Janerio where I relaxed and had a local alcoholic beverage - Caipirinha. Nature really does wonders to the human body and the slow pace of life certainly help me recharge my weary soul. Now that the trip is over I really miss Copacabana beach and the sun. I cannot wait to go back to Rio and immerse myself in the beach life again. #beach

quick guide to Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is busy, noisy and full of adventures to be had. To experience South America in full party mode, visit Rio de Janeiro at Carnaval time, but stay in a boutique hotel so that you have an oasis of calm to return to.
Where is it?
Rio de Janeiro is on the Brazilian coast, looking out to the South Atlantic Ocean, with Salvador to the north and San Paulo to the south. The climate is hot all year round, with occasional rains in the summer, but the party temperature is always high.
Where can I stay?
Although Rio de Janeiro attracts high-living, high-rolling visitors, it caters for a wide range of tourists, from those in palatial hotels to backpackers making their way through Brazil. For a real treat, however, book into a boutique hotel, which offers a cool, calm retreat away from the hustle and bustle of this 24-hour city. Rio de Janeiro is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and both its residents and visitors like to live life to the full while they are there. If you need to recharge your batteries, a boutique hotel is the perfect place to stay. Try the 5-roomed La Maison, which is just a stone’s throw from the beach, but once you’re inside is a haven of peace and tranquillity, with a swimming pool and sundeck for guests to use when the beach has become too busy to handle. To really get away from it all, try La Suite, a boutique hotel with just seven rooms and 180

Amazing French restaurant in Rio de Janeiro
Looking for a delicious French food in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil? Here is my advice for you: Restaurante L'Atelier Mimolette is an incredible choice for delicious food in Ipanema. The menu has foie gras, tartar, oysters and so many delicious options. They also have a lot of different drinks which I highly recommended. The price is around 45 dollars per person and it worth a lot. The service was great, quickly and very kind, the guy was always asking if I wanted to try something new and giving good suggestions which I liked it. 👏🏻 If you ever visit Rio de Janeiro, book this restaurant and you will love it!

Copacabana Palace: My favorite hotel
Copacabana Palace is a classic hotel from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 🇧🇷 It’s the most famous hotel in the entire country. Many famous people, presidents and chief of states have been to this hotel since it was launched more than 100 years ago. The hotel is huge and beautiful. It’s smells so good! we got a very nice upgrade to a suite! It’s was a lovely experience! Definitely a must stay in Brazil.

Welcome to Rio de Janeiro
Golden beaches and lush mountains, samba-fueled nightlife and spectacular football matches: welcome to the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City). The famous white arches span the entrance to Rio’s buzzing nightlife spot, Lapa. What was once an active aqueduct supplying fresh water to the city in the 18th century is now the track for the famous bonde (the street tram) that leads up to Santa Teresa, and also a key meeting spot before diving into Lapa’s party scene. The former mansion of Enrique Lage and his Italian singer wife, Gabriella Besanzoni, Parque Lage is now a visual arts school and restaurant open to the public. The striking futurist architecture of the Museum of Tomorrow is a startling contrast to the scenic port surroundings, making it one of the most photographed places in Rio

#tripaway beautiful and unforgettable place! Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 metres high, excluding its 8-metre pedestal.
The statue weighs 635 metric tons and is located at the peak of the 700-metre Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro. A symbol of Christianity across the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, and is listed as one of the New wonders of the World. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone.

As an Architectural Engineer l find this place pretty peculiar. Wonderful combination of heavy concrete structures and light metal tent constructions on the top of the hill! At this point of Morro da Urca you can take a ride to the top of the sugarloaf, set for a view or make a hike down through the woods to the wonderful city of Rio! 🤗❤
Christ the Redeemer, one of the 7 wonders of the world! Monument so big, that you almost can take a picture of it! I've seen people laying on the ground trying to do so! Also, great view of the city's panorama!
One of the hidden gems of Rio de Janeiro is Aquário in Praque Lage. Ancient building revived as a cafe in the middle of a 'jungle'. Many amazing trails with hidden gems around it! There is also a hiking path to the monument of Christ the Redeemer! Absolutely stunning!
Afternoon trip to the best place for seeing Rio! We decided to save some money on this, so we took the walking trail at the Morro da Urca (probably mistaken the name). The hill is steep! And we surely are not the sports people. At the end we were greeted by the amazing and relaxing view (even tho the weather was pretty bad at that time). We finished this trip with the churros by the beach.
this was a breath taking experience... to see from the top of the mountain and see the beautiful brazil and which was truly the wonders of the world. you can just feel that you are on top of the world and it takes you away from all the things down on earth.

Brazil Travel | Look at the band show at Sugar Loaf Mountain
Rio Sugar Loaf Mountain
There are two places in Rio that overlook the city, one is Monte Cristo, the other is It is the Sugarloaf Mountain with a very interesting name.
Its name is also very simple and straightforward. Because it looks like bread from a distance, it is named Baker Hill. But in fact it has two hills, one like a stand-up bread, a flat bread..
But in fact, all its secrets and beauty, not from the foot of the mountain, but on the way to the cable car Viewing the scenery, and after the summit, I saw the beauty of Rio.
This time I met the band in the mountains and performed the whole game.
:
: Two-segment cable car up the mountain, time is 8
The bohemian art district of Rio, which is a must-have card, is small and stunning
Santa Teresa Neighborhood, located on a hillside in the center of Rio, is a pretty Posey Miya-style neighborhood.
Art Heart
This is the name of the Santa Teresa Monastery. It used to be a gathering place for the Brazilian royal family. But with the removal of the nobles, it is now Rio. The artistic heart of the world, where artists from all over the world come together to open a number of unique art galleries.
Close to Rio
Visitors can buy a variety of exquisite handicrafts here. In addition, there are many bourgeois style cafes, restaurants and bars, so it is also a good place to feel the daily life of Rio.
Trolley Tour
The cable-lined cable car (bondinho) is a major feature of the tour. I took the tram and shuttled through it, feeling as if I had crossed history and brought back the Rio of the 19th century. The cable car passed through a canal in the city, and it was quite thrilling to look down.
The top of the Santa Teresa block has a ruin park (Parque das Runas), which originally belonged to a female rich, but she has no children under her knees, after her death I donated it to the government.
There is also a viewing platform that enjoys the beautiful scenery of Rio City, which offers a beautiful view of the entire city of Rio. There are not many people who know, and the exclusive niche is recommended.
"The Rio people are made of sugar, and they melt when they meet the water."
Rio de Janeiro, with a coastline of 636 km. The sea is an indispensable part of the life of Rio. I have been here for so many days, I found that the Rio people are really too passionate about sports! The beach is the soul of the city.
Rio's most famous beach, called Copacabana, has an endless stream of people and beautiful sand sculptures. However, I prefer the beach of Ipanema, which is clean and beautiful. At the end there is a place for surfing.
Brazilian supermodel , people generally pay attention to the body, come to the beach to walk, you can see the most positive side of the Rio people, and the enthusiasm of people here to deal with life. ##
Copacabana Beach is known as the most famous beach in the world. It is not their self-proclaimed, but has been recognized by many media and tourists. It has a 4.5-km long coastline, azure waters and white clean beaches. The endless stream of people, coupled with the temperature that is suitable for the whole year, attracts countless visitors to enjoy the Brazilian style.
So when I first arrived, I was intimidated by the crowds here. It was the first time I saw such a lively beach, umbrellas of various colors, various lounge chairs distributed on the beach. Every corner of the city, passionate men and women, is like a lively market where people share the warmth of the sun.
There is a saying that the person lying with you in the sun may be a billionaire, maybe a tramp, but at this moment, the sun will not be embarrassing.
Copacabana Beach is known as the world's most famous beach. The coastline is 4.5 kilometers long. The sea is blue, the waves are white, the beach is clean and soft, and the temperature is suitable for the whole year. There are many rivers, and you can meet all kinds of locals and tourists. And the love of football also permeates every corner, I think this is also the inevitable element of this football kingdom. The perfect physical coordination of the Brazilians and the innate artistic cells also makes the entire coastline more colorful.
