Great Adventure walking to the figure 8 pools. Easy 3km walk down BUT not so easy getting back up 2 kilometres of up hill walking. The pools were definitely worth the effort. Very cold but extremely refreshing. Took about 1 hour to get there but two hours walk back plenty of stops along the way to look out over the ocean and bush lands. About 1 hours drive from Sydney.

⚠️Caution! This might be one of the riskiest places you've ever seen! 🪨Figure 8 Pools is a dangerous rock shelf at Burning Palms Beach in Royal National Park, Sydney, Australia. To get to the pool, you need to traverse a lengthy and challenging path that is steep, narrow, and slippery. It might be a nice trekking experience if you love to hike. If you expect less crowd and more surprises, make sure you arrive during golden hours. However, check the NSW National Parks website for Risk Forecast before visiting since you can only visit during low tide. 🌍Although there are various pools or hot springs in the world, just one and only naturally-formed Figure 8 Pool exists.
