[Motosakura Castle] Motosakura Castle towered on a hill. It is one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. Looking up from below, it is easy to imagine that it is a little high and difficult to attack, but looking from above, you can see the surroundings. It seems that the sea used to be up to this point, and shipping was also well developed. Hiyodori-zaka is a quiet path that runs through a bamboo forest in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. It's adjacent to Sakura's samurai residence street and is said to have remained almost unchanged since the Edo period. The slope is gently curving, with several fences along the way. I think this was more for defensive purposes in case of emergency than for appearance's sake. It now has a nice atmosphere. It's located about halfway between the Keisei Line and the JR Line, so you can access it from either line. During our visit, we enjoyed the Carl Andre exhibition — an experience that engaged all the senses. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the calming scent of wood. Some of the works invited visitors to walk across the installations, allowing us to experience the texture and rhythm of the pieces firsthand. Beyond the gallery, the museum’s garden was equally breathtaking. Manicured lawns, tranquil ponds, and outdoor sculptures created a harmonious landscape. Throughout our walk, we noticed several staff members carefully tending to the grounds — a quiet reminder of the dedication that keeps the place so pristine. At the far end of the museum lies a beautiful tea room, where we enjoyed a delicate yōkan (sweet bean jelly) shaped like a minimalist cube — reminiscent of Andre’s geometric works. This is Sakura Furusato Hiroba! I visited here in the spring! I got the impression that there were a lot of people on tours there. There are two parking lots. It doesn't get too crowded, but please be careful when crossing the road. There are two vegetable stands! They're reasonably cheap, so I recommend them! There's also a place where you can get a manhole card. Why not try getting one? In the summer, there is a fireworks display in this area. It attracts a ton of people. It's a bit far from the station, so you have to walk, but why not go and see it?
