Stonehenge is a famous prehistoric cultural temple site in Europe, located on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. It consists of dozens of huge stones arranged in a large circle, some of which are up to six meters high, resembling some kind of religious ceremony or mysterious totem. But to this day, no one knows for sure what its original purpose was. The entrance fee to Stonehenge is €25, which includes an audio guide rental. Visitors can only view it from a distance, and it may not be as grand as imagined. Without the audio guide, it would be hard to understand its significance. Nearby Stonehenge, there is also a free site called Woodhenge, another prehistoric relic. Visiting the UK wouldn't be complete without checking out Stonehenge, a dream destination for many. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. Today, we joined a one-day tour with fellow travelers from Washington, USA. Every year, at least a million people from around the world visit Stonehenge, also known as the Circular Stone Forest. It was designated a World Heritage Site as early as 1896. Up close, it looks both cute and magnificent, and we went crazy taking photos with it! You can take some creative photos, like pretending to push over the stones. There are signs nearby providing examples. Our first stop was Windsor Castle. Nowadays, it has become a large shopping mall and is a historic station. Most of the nearby shops don't open until almost 10 AM. We had coffee and a bacon tomato sandwich here (freshly baked and quite tasty). In the UK, we drank a year's worth of coffee, and we even learned what a flat white is, which is essentially white coffee. The weather in Bath is much warmer than in London. There are endless souvenir shops here, and walking down the streets is very pleasant. We even had authentic Italian ice cream in the UK! We tried mint chocolate, strawberry, and peach flavors, and the peach was surprisingly delicious. The prices were reasonable too, with two flavors costing only £4.5. Now, I really want to stay in London for a month. For breakfast, we bought milk and chocolate oatmeal to eat at the hotel, or stocked up on some bread. For dinner, we had goji berry noodles (delicious) and three bowls of instant noodles brought from Taiwan. Eating out is too expensive, so we even went to Chinatown to buy instant beef noodles. The hotel we stayed at wasn't in central London, so the prices at nearby fried chicken shops and convenience stores were much cheaper. Sometimes, we leisurely bought six pieces of fried chicken and a coke to eat back at the hotel, which was cheaper than eating out. We saved the rest of our meals for something nicer, like Poppie's fish and chips or Flat Iron. Stonehenge was number 1. on my list of things to see or should I say "feel" when visiting the UK. 🏠Where to stay: You can spend a night or 2 in Salisbury, there are some lovely inns like "The Kings Head Inn", which also has delicious, decently priced food. 📍How to get there: 1. The "ST bus" to Stonehenge from Salisbury, but remember this bus is around £20 pounds as it is a tourist bus. 2. The "X2 bus", as it's only £2 but the buses don't come frequently. *Use Google Maps to find these buses while in Salisbury, just type in Stonehenge and choose the public transport option. Both buses can be found on the same road. 3. Take a 7777s cab. It was £24 and took us about 30 minutes to get there.
