Conveniently located right next to the train station, you can easily drop off your luggage and start exploring. There's also a shopping mall nearby, making it super convenient! You can enjoy stunning vistas of the distant mountains and fortress while dining in the restaurant, thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The room we stayed in had a comfortable double bed and a standard business layout, covering 24 square meters. The design is simple and natural with wooden furniture and shelves. The rate includes breakfast and costs €100, which is quite reasonable. Salzburg is bisected by a river, with famous attractions on both sides that are easily accessible on foot. It's a very pleasant place to explore and definitely worth a visit.

Salzburg is located on the hill of the old town. You can hike up the mountain or take the cable car. We bought a basic package for €12.2, which includes the castle ticket and the cable car down the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes to hike up the mountain. The scenery along the way changes from the alleys to the countryside and woods. The fortress is full of yellow flowers, which is quite beautiful. The high walls of the Salzburg Fortress are made of solid stone and are unbreakable. Inside are armories, granaries, churches, restaurants, cultural relics exhibition areas and royal bedrooms. The scene where the von Trapp family escapes the Nazi's arrest to Switzerland was also being film there. The highest peak is at Berchtesgaden Hockthorn at 1973 meters. It spans between Berchtesgaden in the Germany and Salzburg at the Austria. The trails are very smooth and easy to hike and climb and there are stairways and roads, so you do not need a lot of assistance to ascend. A very nice hiking experience indeed.

Must-Sees in Salzburg is Hohensalzburg Fortress, Salzburg's landmark, Central Europe’s largest intact fortress and offers fantastic views of the city. Also a must see is Mozart's Geburtshaus, the place where the genial composer was born on January 27, 1756. South of Salzburg’s old town is the popular Hellbrunn Castle with the world-famous 'Wasserspiele' containing many ingenious trick fountains and water-powered figures. The Trapp family and The Sound of Music is inseparably linked with Salzburg. The famous gazebo can be found in the gardens of Hellbrunn Castle. It was used for both Maria and Georg's romantic love scene and the duet “Sixteen Going On Seventeen”. Salzburg is really such a gorgeous city well worth spending at least 3-4 days in order to explore all the attractions.

After my business trip to Germany, I went over to Salzburg Austria with my wife, colleague and a friend. I chose to book FourSide Hotel through Trip as it has many good reviews. We took the bus from the main station to the hotel. The surrounding was peaceful. When we went inside the hotel, we were captivated by the ambience. We were pleased with our room too as it was very comfortable. Finally, I wanna give a shoutout to the staff and bartender as they were very friendly and helpful.

It was always a wondering feeling when you travel to Europe as you can get to witness many beautiful historical structures. That's how I felt when we went to explore Schloss Mirabell when we travelled to Salzburg. The palace was built in 1606 and thus have a very rich history. We admired the majestic structure. The palace also have a beautiful park and the winter made the experience even greater.

St Sebastian's Cemetery is slightly smaller than St Peter's and opposite the river from the old town, but we quite enjoyed our time here as this place is more tranquil and less touristy than St Peter's. The most notable tombstone here belongs to the Mozart family (Wolfgang Mozart himself is buried in Vienna though), but it's still quite the experience to look through the different tombstones and note their design and age. Marvellous and rather creepy gothic cemetery tucked away behind St Sebastian's church. The entrance is a little hard to find. You go down the road below the church and turn in through a gateway effectively behind the church. There are some wonderful statues and gravestones. In the centre of the cemetery is the tomb of Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich.

After seeing the Hohensalzburg Fortress, we walked directly over the hill and through small woods to the Möchsberg. The route with all sights takes about 1.5 hours. Numerous viewpoints lead to the Stadtalm, a small restaurant on the right side of the mountain in the direction of the old town. Then keep right and you end up directly at the Museum der Moderne and the Mönchsberg elevator, which we used to go back down. Very nice destination, even if the museums are closed. Great for a long walk. With its park, the fortresses, old walls and and and it's great to walk. And you are right next to the castle and can explore it at the same time. You also have a different great panorama from every corner, either the city or the mountains, just great. You can also find inns and snack bars here and there. I would absolutely recommend the Salzburg card. You have all entrances, elevators, castle railway with it.

It is always nice to walk in the footsteps of giants like the Mozart family. The place provided a very good audio book that walks you through the house and there is alot of history to be found there. Overall its a nice place to visit once in your life, even though it feels kinda empty and would have been nicer if it had more pieces that made it feel like a home and shows how they lived their life, especially for the price. Very well managed museum. I liked the fact that the curators did not overwhelm us with too much information and kept it an adequately manageable experience for music lovers and practitioners alike. Residenzplatz is a large, stately public square in the old town of Salzburg and also the largest square in the old town. There's some really beautiful buildings surrounding the square such as Residenzgalerie Residenz Palace, the Glockenspiel and Salzburg Cathedral. At the centre of the square is the Residenz Fountain. Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes around the square as well. Architecture that will leave you stunned. Majestic art, paintings and ornaments. There is absolutely nothing to complain about it. And a very important tip for people travelling around on a budget. IT IS FREE. But please, leave some spare change or make a good donation as the place is really well looked after. You'll find graves of archbishops from the city close to the front of the cathedral and more downstairs. This is the place where the legendary Composer Wolfgangus Mozart was born. It is like a Museum with most of the details which says about Mozarts life history and upbringing. The entire house has speaker fitted at many places with Mozarts music being played. The building was perfectly preserved. They make good use of the rooms to introduce and showcase Mozart's family home, family portraits, and general history about his family - but not too intensely in-depth. The airflow isn't great, and the visitor numbers don't feel limited, so some rooms can get a bit crowded. Overall a good overview of Mozart's life. In the center of the city stands the Mirabell Palace, along with its palace gardens and fountains, as well as the Salzburg Fortress, which can be seen from anywhere in the palace gardens or the city and is a symbol of Salzburg. Salzburg's most famous pedestrian street in the old town is Getreidegasse, which is full of various gift shops and food snack shops. Number 9 on this street is the building where Mozart was born, which is now the Mozart Museum. In the city, there is the first Baroque-style church, the first monastery in the German-speaking area, and the oldest surviving convent in the world. When traveling to Austria, Salzburg is a must-visit place. Walking in the exceptionally beautiful and green Salzburg, which is shaded by trees, is worth a visit.

Getting There - a short 2 hour train ride form Munich HBF Attractions - Festung Hohensalzburg Food & Restaurants - many nice food and drinks! A must try in the Wiener schnitzel! It’s thin and cripsy! Shopping - many things to buy such as the famous Mozart kugel! Abit pricey but I guess it’s worth the try! So purchase the mixer bag where it consist of 6 types of different chocolates that they sell!
