#cebutrip These spectacular waterfalls are not hard to access, with a fairly easy walk to the base of the main waterfall. The water is crystal clear. The height of the falls seems a bit hard to pin down, but my guide told me they are 80 feet tall, and he's a long time local expert with a clear passion for these falls. Guides do not get paid, and only earn from tips, so make sure you're generous - they deserve it. My guide demonstrated jumping from an insane height, into the water that's only about 2 metres deep. There are ledges and caves at various heights, but let your guide show how it's done first. Bend your knees and jump feet first. You can also swim into the base of the falls for a pretty intense water massage! The water is quite refreshing and is a great spot for a swim. In my opinion this is one of the best waterfalls in the area, and not to be missed.

The newly discovered darling of Samboan is Binalayan Falls. I will forever remember this waterfall because it is here that I made the highest jump in my life by far; a 45-meter jump under one of the fall’s semi-cave. I know this isn’t high enough for others, but mygosh, I nearly packed and surrendered. I’m glad I didn’t. It was exciting and mad at the same time! From the jump-off point by the road, the walk to the Falls is around 20 minutes. We arrived at Cebu Airport. We booked a transfer to Moobol on Trip.com. It was much more expensive than the return trip, as we booked the return trip on site; it was 2,500. In Moobol, we stayed at the West Coast House. It's a very basic guesthouse, well worth the price. But it has an excellent cafe, which was our favorite in Moobol. It has the same name. 1) On the first day, we snorkeled right there. It's a 5-minute walk. You can also watch the sunset there. The reef is half-dead, with interesting inhabitants, but the locals don't tend to them. There are a lot of sardines, it looks truly stunning. 2) For the second day, we booked a nice tour. It included: - Swimming with sharks (challenging, they're fed, but totally worth it) - Tumalog Waterfall (since we had to wait in line to see the sharks, we went there right after breakfast at a local cafe) - Sumilog Island. After swimming with the sharks, we decided against it and instead visited Aginid Waterfall. You have to climb up it on foot, right along the riverbed, from level 0 to the very top. It's quite a challenge, so we had to climb. It was a great experience, I recommend it to everyone. We also recommend bringing shoes so you don't go barefoot, a water-resistant bag, and clothes to protect yourself from injury, at least shorts. - Kawasan Waterfall. We didn't go canyoning because we were already at Aginid, so we just went swimming. We also enjoyed this and it was enough. This tour costs 6,000 pesos plus tickets and environmental taxes. 3) We also spent the third day snorkeling. We wanted to go to Osman Peak, but it was very cloudy.

For a chill time you may can start to visit Dao Falls. The area is less developed as a tourist spot so you have to walk a little through the river and climb up stairs. But you will be rewarded with a beautiful hidden waterfall. After spending your time go on to Binalayan falls which have plenty of stairs to jump from into the water. Up to 11 meters will test your bravery. After a good refreshing time you can enjoy some snacks at the entry. The lodge is build at a hill and most rooms provide beautiful view on the sea. While relaxing at the beachfront you may can see turtles passing buy or even dolphins. Their outdoor activities are nice and well collected no matter if you go diving or snorkeling or take a tour to the nearby waterfalls or mountains. Also the wale sharks in Oslob are not far away. Their food is very good and most is homemade. If you enjoy a cocktail in the evening you may choose one with their homemade rum. We stayed as a family and enjoyed their big 2-Story apartment where you can relax after you tours and watch the sunset.

Dao Waterfall offers not only an epic waterfall finale but it is the trek in that is truly astounding. For thirty minutes you wade through those trademark Cebu blues, while ferns and palms cover the canyon walls on either side. The trek to Dao Falls itself isn’t hard but it does require you to walk through the water and navigate your way around boulders and rocks. It is a moderate adventure with incredible scenery, which is far away from the crowds at Kawasan Falls. Dao Waterfall is about 40-50m high and pours down into a large pool. You can swim safely in the pool and near the falls when the flow isn’t too crazy but of course be careful depending on the conditions. It was a great pool to refresh in after the short trail hike. I’ve heard that the falls used to be double the width but a landslide impacted the flow and it isn’t quite as impressive these days but it still impressed me! #waterfall#naturalwonders#hiking

Dao Falls is located in Barangay Suba, Samboan, in the interiors of the town. There is a paved road going there, but there are steep inclines that make the ride rather unpleasant. Most habal-habals can very well maneuver up the steep road. However, tricycles usually struggle with the ascent, requiring you and your companions to abandon your hired tricycle and walk some 50 meters up the road where you’ll wait for your ride to arrive at a more leveled portion of the road. Third point, Dao Falls offers you a one-of-a-kind-chasing-waterfall experience. Once you have alighted from your ride (and paid the fare), prepare your mind and body for a grueling yet exciting 20-minute hike to the falls. While the locals have established the trail to the falls, even carving stairways from boulders for the convenience of tourists, still the path to Dao Falls is not for the faint-hearted or the half-baked adventurer.
