Unreal Daymaniyat in Oman
Hello, friends! ✨ I want to share with you one of my most memorable experiences in Oman – snorkeling on the protected Daymaniyat Islands.
🤿 What are Daymaniyat?
It's an archipelago of nine small islands an hour's boat ride from Muscat. It's not just a beautiful place, but a true nature reserve, accessible only with special permits. And you can feel it right away: the water is crystal clear, the nature is untouched, and the underwater world is beautiful!
🐠 What exactly did I see underwater?
🪸 Coral gardens. Not as vibrant as in the Red Sea, but very picturesque and literally teeming with life.
🐢 Turtles, turtles, turtles! I swam nose to nose with them! They are completely unafraid of people, gracefully grazing on the sea grass and rising to the surface for air. Unforgettable! 🐠 Millions of colorful fish, moray eels... It was simply dazzling.
They say you can also see schools of dolphins and reef sharks, but we didn't see any.
💡 Practical and important:
1. How to get there? You need to book a tour in advance through a licensed tour operator in Muscat. They will obtain your permit for you.
2. What to bring? Sunscreen (waterproof!), a towel, and a cap are essential. The captain usually provides water and food. Masks and fins are usually provided, but if you bring your own, bring your own.
The captain also has motion sickness pills.
3. Difficulty? Suitable for everyone, even beginners. The captain selects the calmest and safest spots.
If you ever find yourself in Oman, don't hesitate for a second – it's worth it. This isn't just snorkeling; it's a true immersion into another world, full of harmony and beauty.
Have you ever swam with turtles? Do you dream of it?

Daymaniyat Bliss✨
Another great moment in Muscat was the 5‑hour boat tour from the marina to the Daymaniyat Islands. The ride takes around 30 minutes, and once you arrive, the water is incredibly clear — perfect for snorkeling. We saw so much wildlife: plenty of turtles, lots of fish, and even an octopus. It was a really enjoyable experience.
We also spent some time on the island to explore, and on the way back we saw many dolphins, which made the whole trip even nicer. The sea around the islands is impressively clean, and the whole area feels very well preserved.
If you have time, I definitely recommend this activity. Just make sure to bring your water gear and sunglasses — the sun can be strong out there. During

It is especially recommended to travel during the weather from November to January, as you can visit many places that are not suitable for traveling in summer.
