The common feature was the sandy beaches/ boat rides and vast cuisine options starting from Greece to Senegal, Denmark, Albania, Ghana, Portugal and Mexico City until the deserts or Arizona. The food went spicer till Mexico City 🎊 Overall an awesome 2024 so far 💕❤️❤️💕

Must-see attractions include: Gorée Island: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic island is known for its vibrantly colored colonial buildings and is home to the House of Slaves (Maison des Esclaves), which tells the story of the country's past slave trade. Lake Retba (Lac Rose): A naturally pink saltwater lake created by algae, where locals collect salt. African Renaissance Monument: The tallest bronze statue in Africa (49 meters) sits on a hill in Dakar, offering panoramic views of the city. Bandia Reserve: The closest safari destination to Dakar, where you can see wildlife such as giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and ostriches. Saint-Louis: A former European-style capital city famous for its colonial architecture and jazz festivals. Important Travel Information (Information as of 2026) Visa: Thai passport holders can apply for a Visa on Arrival at Dakar Airport (Blaise Diagne International Airport) for a maximum stay of 90 days. Proof of return flight and financial means are required. Best Time to Visit: November to May is the dry season, offering cool and dry weather, ideal for sightseeing. January and February have the lowest temperatures. #JanuaryDestinations2026 Djoudj National Park, located in northern Senegal, is a stunning nature reserve and an absolute must-visit for nature lovers and birdwatchers. This vast national park boasts rich wetland ecosystems, attracting a large number of migratory birds. Tens of thousands of herons, cranes, and various waterfowl nest and breed here annually. What impressed me most during my visit was the opportunity to observe these beautiful birds up close. Taking a small boat tour through the wetlands, with flocks of birds soaring around you, feels like being embraced by nature. Besides birds, the reserve also boasts rich biodiversity, with various aquatic plants and wild animals on display.

We stayed one night in Granada and had dinner at a highly recommended restaurant, which I would rank among the top three of this trip. I'll list it together in the food section. The hotel we stayed at, Melia, had great service and a good location. There was also a delicious bakery nearby. Staying this night was definitely worth it. The second day cleared up, and we went to the viewpoint again. You can see from picture 3 that it was completely different from the cloudy day. We slowly strolled through the Albayzín district along the way. We also carefully explored the Monasterio de la Cartuja with almost no tourists around.

Money-saving travel guide for Senegal To help fellow travelers avoid unnecessary detours and expenses, here are the attractions I have visited and those I think are worth visiting (honestly, not much to see 🤷‍♀️) Gorée Island (Île de Gorée) (Photos 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) The island has top-notch sales per capita (no exaggeration). Entrance fee: 5,000 CFA francs + 500 tax. If you need a guide, it’s an additional 8,000 CFA francs. They will take you around the entire island as fast as possible. Important: after the tour, hurry to the ferry terminal to line up, or you will have to wait a long time!! It’s really easy to get in but hard to get out (why is the arrangement here so unreasonable?) Bandia Wildlife Reserve (Réserve de Bandia) (Photos 6, 7, 8, 9) About a 30-minute drive there. Entrance fee is 12,000 CFA francs (adults), 7,000 for children under 12. You also need to take their big vehicle inside (forgot the price, but it’s more expensive than the entrance fee). Animals include giraffes, monkeys, zebras, small deer, crocodiles... Personally, I don’t think it’s much to see. The main highlight is that these animals are wild. Across the way, there is a carnivore park with tigers and lions, but locals say the animals are still small and hard to find, so it’s not recommended. I don’t want to visit other places, really not much to see. La lagune Somone (Photo 7) A bird-watching spot. Since it’s close to the hotel, we walked there. You can paddle a small boat inside. It’s very quiet, only the sound of birds. We even caught a blue crab. (Not recommended if you’re staying in Dakar, it’s too far.) The prices and small expenses below were bargained with locals, for reference for newcomers. All prices are in CFA francs. Various long and short skirts: 4,000 CFA francs Sculptures: large 10,000, small 8,000 Bracelets: 500 Necklaces: 1,000 (ordinary styles) Large scarves: 4,000 Full body massage: 10,000 (can even come to your place!) Car rental: about 15,000/day Watermelon: 1,000–2,000 Main dishes: around 3,000–6,000 per serving Better restaurants: about 8,000+ African necklaces: around 2,000 If you can bargain lower than me, you’re impressive 👍 Restaurants: Xiang Ju De: The environment is quite good, stepping inside feels like instantly back home, but it’s really expensive. Le Lagon: The environment is excellent, right on the water, with great views. Airport visa on arrival (free) I personally stayed near M’bour (the last few photos by the sea). Hotels here are all close to the beach. If you come here to relax, it’s really comfortable!!! Also, I think the best way to vacation here is to bring your family, rent a big Maison by the sea, and just lie in the living room watching the ocean every day.

In 1978, UNESCO designated Gorée Island as a World Cultural Heritage site to protect its rich historical relics. The island’s architectural style is unique, with a stark contrast between the slave quarters and the lavish slave trade venues. Gorée Island is not only an archaeological site and tourist attraction but also a nature reserve, home to museums and ancient castle ruins. The island’s beautiful scenery makes it an important historical landmark in Senegal.

the maternity and pediatric hospital in Tambacounda, Senegal expansion aims to transform the conditions under which patients receive care. Initiated by Le Korsa, a philanthropic arm of the Albers Foundation that has been active in eastern Senegal since 2005, the project was aimed at radically transforming the conditions under which mothers and newborns receive care in the region.
