2024 Seville Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)
There might not be a more festive month in any city, anywhere, than April in Seville, a city in the south of Spain. From the Passion of the Christ coming alive during the Madruga (Semana Santa marches that commemorate Jesus’ Via Dolorosa on the morning of Good Friday) to the electrifying experience of the alumbrao at the beginning of the Feria de Abril. This four-week party consumes every Sevillano's life, but even if you don’t visit in April, there’s more than enough to be done here. The city is home to the third biggest cathedral in the world, the Seville Cathedral. Seville's sport, including bullfights and two football teams, is a highlight, as are flamenco shows and restaurants where dinners go on from 9pm to after midnight. Wandering the streets of Barrio Santa Cruz is an amazing experience; let yourself get lost amidst the azulejo tiles and omnipresent mini-plazas. Eating, drinking, socializing, and dancing is all some the favorite pastimes here, and the partying goes until after dawn at Seville’s great discotheques or bars on Calle Betis or in the Hercules. Hotels centered around lush courtyards or wrought iron balconies make for a romantic stay, but city center business hotels and B&Bs round out the large number of options.

The Royal Palace of Sevia-A Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones filming location
#palace #100 ways to travel
#Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia in southern Spain, has many popular attractions, but if you want to talk about the architectural visibility, you must recommend the #Real Alcazar de Sevilla.
This palace, which combines Islamic, Gothic and Renaissance styles, has a lot of history. It is not only the official residence of the Spanish royal family in Sevia, but it is also the filming location of the famous TV series #A Song of Ice and Fire!
The Royal Palace of Seville is composed of two parts: the "Palace of Pedro I" and the "Alcazar Palace". It was modeled after the "Alhambra Palace" in Granada. No wonder it feels like a déjà vu.
The multi-layered arches, wall carvings, promenade pools, and colorful arabesque wall tiles are full of Moorish style. In the vernacular, it is resplendent.
Every room in the palace is extremely ostentatious, especially the coronation hall, with its carved wooden dome and gold inlays, which are so luxurious and exquisite that it is shocking! Of course, A Song of Ice and Fire was also filmed here.
The palace garden is also another must-see attraction. It is an Islamic-style garden like a maze of corridors, with a sea of neatly trimmed trees and tropical palms. Multiple scenes of #Game of Thrones were filmed here. Many fans came here to explore and check out each spot one by one. , quite interesting.

Seville's Charming Neighborhood Brunch Spot: La Mala
La Mala is a popular brunch spot located in Seville, especially known for its delicious egg tarts. The place isn't very large, and it quickly fills up due to its reputation. It has the vibe of a local neighborhood eatery, where both locals and tourists can enjoy a leisurely afternoon together.
📍C. Rivero, 7, Casco Antiguo, 41004 Sevilla
Fresh Brunch Spot in Seville: FILO
I visited FILO, a popular brunch spot in Seville. Due to its small size, it gets quite crowded, so if you arrive late, you might not find a seat. I ordered a brunch set that included an omelet, juice, and coffee. Considering European prices, it was very cost-effective. The fresh vegetables and juice were particularly delicious.

🇪🇸My Favorite Place in Seville💙A must visit place💙
🇪🇸Splendid Seville🇪🇸
This is one of the most iconic and important spots in Plaza de España, the 48 benches which represents one of every province of Spain.
It’s in alphabetic order and starts on the left with ‘Alava’ and ends with ‘Zaragoza’ on the right.
In 1929 there were 49 provinces (now 52), but Sevilla is not represented, why do you think?
If we go back to the reason why every province is one bench, we can find the reason for it; is to get information about that province. On every single bench you can see:
💙A map of the province
💙One moment in history which was important for that province
💙Painted by a painter from that province
💙The Province’s coat of arms
But there is no bench to represent Sevilla, it’s because the constructors thought ‘why should we make one? You can just walk for 15 minutes towards the center and you will get all the information you need.’

🇪🇸Stunning structure in Seville🇪🇸A must Visit sight💙
🇪🇸Splendid Seville🇪🇸
The place you have to visit if you ever go to Sevilla, has to be Plaza de España! It’s one of the most incredible places in Spain.
This amazing place is not only stunning but also contains many visible secrets, that you will understand if you know a little bit of the history.
Plaza de España was created due to the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. This was held to welcome the former colonies of Spain, which means most of South America and even Portugal and the United States were invited.
The square, as you can see, is shaped half-round, which stands for the welcome sign. They were basically welcoming the former colonies back to Spain.
This is one of the many secret elements of this amazing place that not many people know about.
Unfortunately, this exposition wasn’t the biggest success. This was all because traveling wasn’t that easy yet at that time. Besides that, they were happy to not be colonized anymore by the Spaniards.

Review of Metropol Parasol in Seville
Metropol Parasol in Seville is a unique architectural structure that locals call 'Setas' (mushrooms). It is the largest wooden structure in the world, combining modern design with ancient Roman ruins. At the top, there is an observation deck where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Seville. Visiting during sunset allows you to relish the golden cityscape. On the first floor, there is an archaeological museum where you can admire historical artifacts, making it a unique space to experience both the past and present of Seville.
Observation deck entrance fee: 15 euros
🇪🇸Tremendous beauty in Triana District in Seville🇪🇸✨
🇪🇸Splendid Seville🇪🇸
When I was in Seville in Spain, many places were walkable and easy to reach to.
I walked over the Puente de San Telmo bridge to district of Triana. Then walked on the busy Betis Street along the river, here there are restaurants and bars overlooking the Guadalquivir River as well as the Muelle Camaronero.
Views from here are particularly pretty with both town and ricer views, you can even see the tower, some
Ships and other bridges. Great for photo taking or relaxing with food and drinks at one of the restaurants.
I particularly loved the colorful building lined up here on Betis Road and little roads that lead to more alleyways in between Triana. This is a district well worth exploring for its vibrancy and history.

Impressions of Seville
I heard that European countries would close their attractions, shops, and restaurants early on Christmas Eve to go home and celebrate. I planned to arrive in Seville on the 24th and go to the Spanish Square after checking in. It was just at sunset, with no tickets and time restrictions, which seemed like a perfect arrangement. Today is Christmas, all attractions are completely closed. This time in Seville, I have to leave some regrets. The palace and the cathedral are closed, and the plan to visit the great navigator Columbus can only be postponed. I can only wander around the streets, look at the exterior of the attractions and the street view, which also feels quite beautiful. The picture limit in the text is used up, a solid 20, and it seems not enough.
Seville, the capital of Andalusia, has a long history. I once heard an Arab proverb: If you haven't been to Seville, you can't be considered well-traveled. The city, which has been built for more than 2000 years, has experienced the rule of six civilizations, leaving countless architectural treasures. Seville is a very special city, where the Romans, Arabs, Islam, and Christianity have all left some buildings. Seville is quite inclusive. In 1248, after Christianity defeated the Muslims and recaptured Seville, they directly used the mosque as a church until 1402. Then they rebuilt the church on the old site. After 100 years of hard construction, Seville Cathedral became the largest church in the world. Although the church is defined as Gothic, it still retains the original Islamic architectural features, such as the Giralda, which was transformed from the original mosque's minaret, and is now the symbol of Seville. The great navigator Columbus is buried here.
The Royal Palace of Seville is a huge and beautiful palace. It's a bit regrettable that it can't be visited because of the holiday. Some people even say it can be compared to heaven.
There is also a Golden Tower by the river, which is also one of the iconic buildings of Seville, Salvador Square, St. Jorge Castle, Santa Cruz Street, and the old bullring. There is an old bridge on the river - Isabel II Bridge. In short, the city layout and planning are very wonderful, the streets are clean and tidy, and it's pleasing to the eye no matter how you look at it.
In addition to architecture, the origins of bullfighting and flamenco are related to Seville. There are many stories circulating here, which provide material for musicians. Musicians Mozart and Rossini have created 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'Carmen', 'Don Juan', and 'The Barber of Seville' based on the material of Seville.
I didn't expect to encounter the Christmas holiday break. According to Chinese customs, holidays should be more welcoming to tourists. It still applies the old Arab proverb 'If you haven't been to Seville, you can't be considered well-traveled'. I thought my arrangement was perfect, but I still fell into the pit. Hehe🤭, the itinerary and hotel for the next part have been confirmed, so I have to give up and continue the next itinerary. Use the photos in the text to promote Seville. Maybe there will be a chance to come again in the future.
Roaming Through the Charming Streets
zar of Seville, a royal palace that seamlessly blends Moorish and Renaissance influences. Explore its beautiful gardens and get lost in its intricate courtyards, each one whispering stories of centuries past.
When hunger strikes, head to Triana, a vibrant neighborhood known for its delicious tapas and flamenco traditions. Indulge in local delicacies like salmorejo and montaditos while savoring the lively atmosphere of the taverns.
To make the most of your visit, climb the Giralda Tower for panoramic views of the city's rooftops and the majestic Cathedral of Seville. Marvel at its grandeur and learn about its historical significance as the final resting place of Christopher Columbus.
For an authentic cultural experience, be sure to catch a flamenco performance at a traditional tablao. Let the passionate rhythms and heartfelt expressions of the dancers transport you to the soul of Andalusia.
Overall, Seville offers a blend of history, art, and vibrant energy that will leave an indelible mark on your travel memories. From its stunning architecture to its lively gastronomy, this enchanting city has something to offer every curious traveler. So pack your bags and let Seville whisk you away on a mesmerizing journey of exploration and discovery! #SevilleAdventures #CulturalWonders #TapasDelight

Seville City is located in the southern region of Spain just on the top of Gibraltar. An old rustic city that dated all the way back to almost 1940 or more. You will be able to see beautiful structures and design of castle like buildings set during the roman times and Jewish quarters and old bars situated all around the city of seville.
This place is also popular among tourists due to its world renowned bull fights and the Spanish tapas(they are like small little snack like dishes). Seville is also said to now be under the UNESCO Heritage list as well!
[Seville Cathedral] Spain's largest cathedral
A cathedral in Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region in southern Spain.
Catedral de Sevilla Seville Cathedral
Av. de la Constitución
*Adult tickets for the day cost 12€
The largest cathedral in Spain and the third largest in the world.
It is said that a huge mosque was built here during the Middle Ages, when the city was ruled by the Moors (Muslims). As a result, some remnants of the mosque can be seen in the current cathedral, which is unusual for a Christian cathedral.
The bell tower called La Giralda was originally the spire (minaret) of a mosque. Some remnants of the mosque can be seen inside the cathedral.
One of the highlights is the tomb of explorer Columbus inside.
It is registered as a World Heritage Site along with the Alcázar and Archive of the Indies in the same city.

☀️Day & Night 🌙 in Seville
Seville is like an endless museum of streets, covered in gorgeous buildings. With lively squares, buzzing with energetic people and good vibes. An artist's inspiration...
Seville, the biggest city in Andalusia, is a city that leaves its mark, and many people define it as special. It might be because of the grandeur of its monuments. Or perhaps the charm of areas such as Triana.
It may possibly be the scent of jasmine in its squares or the Spanish guitar music of its streets. Some say that it’s the tradition of its festivals, and many are convinced its tapas are the real reason.
In Seville, tradition is always in fashion. From flamenco shows and Spanish guitar music to typical ceramics and crafts, which are always a good souvenir of the city. There are plenty of shops and workshops in Triana. And it’s easy to enjoy flamenco at one of the many ‘tablaos’ or neighbourhood ‘peña’ groups.

The future is here and it's in Seville 🇪🇸
Can you imagine that this whole structure is made entirely out of wood? Cool and sustainable - my kind of jam ✌️
The shape of Plaza de España is a semi-circle, surrounded by a row of buildings that today are, for the most part, used as government institutions. There are two tall towers on the flanks of the square. Of note are the 52 benches and mosaics of tiles located at the foot of the building on the Spanish square. These 52 frescos depict all 52 Spanish provinces.
The mushrooms of Metropol Parazol are not only a wooden construction that covers the square, but on top of the parasols, there is a special walkway and a terrace with beautiful panorama ("El Mirador"). Metropol Parasol also offers an archaeological museum (Antiquarium, see below), shops, several bars and restaurants. A stroll across the Metropol Parasol is certainly worthwhile during your Seville city trip.

When in Spain, you must add Seville to your list of towns to visit. And if there is only one thing to see when you get to Seville, then go to Plaza de España and be wowed by its beautiful architecture.
The Plaza de España is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa, in Seville, Spain. It was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Baroque Revival, Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival styles of Spanish architecture.

It is located at Calle Diego Angulo Iniguez, 10, 41018 Seville, is 850 meters 11 minutes away from Seville Santa Justa train station, but is 200 meters 3 minutes from the hotel i am staying at Ibis Style.

Royal Palace
The Real Alcazar is situated near the Seville Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies in one of Andalusia's most emblematic areas.
The palace is known for its tile decoration. The two tiles used are majolica and arista tiles.
The Courtyard of Maidens was entirely paved in marble with fountains in the center, rooms are arranged around a long rectangle pool.
The ambassador hall ceiling is a delight to watch, the circular panel is filled with small colorful polygons yarrange in a geometrical pattern that radiates outward from the star-like shape in the centre.
The palace garden had the aesthetic function of bringing pleasure to the residents and visitors.
The Alcazar was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
Lion Gate and surroundings
Lion Gate.. The doors of the Alcazar of Seville, located in the outer wall of the complex near Seville Cathedral, built in the 12th century, named for the tiled lion at its apex. Today, the two towers that flanked it, one of them square and the other hexagonal are still preserved.
The General Archive of the indies, not far away from the lion gate, is one of the emblematic buildings of the city, a reminder of its glorious past as a gateway to trade with the indies and today an absolute reference in the documentary study of the Spanish presence in America.
The surrounding is the place full of life, beautiful monuments, the sound of horse carriages running along the asphalt and visitors waiting for their time slot to enter the Alcazar.
La Giralda
La Giralda is the bell tower of Seville Cathedral located at Av. del la Constitucion, s/n 41004 Sevilla.
