The most famous mountain in Shenzhen! ⛰️
Wutong mountain is a very large area, This is the highest peak in Shenzhen. There are two options big and small Wutong both of them are fine. Also if you want to find the best scenery to look at the whole of Shenzhen city this mountain gives exactly that. Beautiful nature and a great challenge to climb to the top because there are so many stairs that you need to pass. it takes time to climb over there for 2-3 hours with many short breaks because you need to save energy when you go down. The best time to check it when is cooler is during autumn/winter time because when is spring/summer can be so humid weather. This mountain is worth a visit, when you climb up you will see spectacular city views and relax in the fresh oxygen-rich mountain air.

Hike with views to die for
Mei sha jian is a beautiful hike with sweeping ocean views located in the Yantian area.
The hike is pretty much all stairs, with periods of flat paved path in between. The stairs are steep and at times can smash the knees up. But the views are most definitely worth it.
You can see the Dameisha beach, ocean, and the Yantian cargo port (hugely impressive)
You can also see OCT EAST in detail with the train and the European style buildings as well as Longgang centre in the distance. With the wind blowing this is an incredible feeling.
What I like about this hike is the flora and fauna. It has a different feeling to some of the other mountains in SZ. The path is well signposted with only a few directions possible to take so getting lost here would be difficult. Head to the peak to get the best views and lots of pics.
I suggest going back down the way you came and end at Yantian Customs base. You can get a taxi from there back to the metro. When you get to the top you can see a long path of stairs below you, follow this to get onto the greenway and onto the highway
Start at Yantian road metro (line 8) and get a taxi this location. Follow the sign up to the top. After you have finished you can end at OCT EAST and get a taxi. Type this into map or into didi 山海大观观景台
No water on the trail bring enough
Its exposed to a lot of sunshine so bring sunscreen

Hidden hike in Longgang
Yuanshan is one of many possible hikes in Shenzhen, but it is certainly one worth considering. When you first arrive here you will likely think it is either closed down, or completely run down. However this I feel adds to its charm.
After entering the main gate, I suggest heading to the temple first, you can’t go in but you can take a look. And on the left-hand side of here you will see lots of shrine/pagodas which have an old eerie feel about them. I have never seen anything like this in Shenzhen. It has a kind of Bali feel to it, well at least a microscopic version of it
After the temple follow the sign for ‘trails.’ It’s vague but this is actually the information on the sign. You’ll walk along a long paves road which goes to a restaurant and store. You should be able to see the mountain looming in the distance. Unfortunately, now the stairs begin. The mountain is around 600M high and it does punish the legs a little, especially going down. These are not typical cement stairs though, they are made from the rock available on the mountain and are surrounded by old trees, interesting geology and even a cave or two. Some good photo opportunities and again it’s something a little different.
The views could be impressive on a clear day, if you’re lucky. Unfortunately, I wasn’t and had a bit of a smoggy view but don’t let that deter you. The cliff walk is very cool and something a bit fun. Overall, I would suggest this hike as it is certainly something as little different. Don’t come expecting the best place ever, but keep an open mind

Beautiful new park in Bantian
New park not fully finished yet. Has some nice water features, walking paths and greenery. Was also very quiet as most people don't know about it yet. When it's finished it'll be a fantastic spot. Good to see more greenery in Shenzhen
Nearby Xuexiang metro station on line 10.

Shenzhen’s most popular park
Lianhuashan is the biggest and most well-known of all the parks in the city covering a staggering 150 hectares. It is frequently in the Trip Advisor top 10 things to do in the city and is usually one of the 1st places visited by any tourist or new residents to the city. That is due to its convenient central location, its abundant greenery, its serene nature and its beautiful flora and fauna. Some of the attractions here include kite square and peach grove. It also offers a sensational view of the civic center and downtown Shenzhen below you from a viewing platform that requires a short hike.
You can also visit ‘grandpa’ Deng Xiaoping the founder of modern Shenzhen and a hero to many in the city, his statue stands tall at the peak of the hill, striding forward confidently into the future. Getting to the top is easy enough and takes around a 15-minute hike. You can use multiple paths to get here, simply ‘head up’ and you’ll get there.
This is a popular spot for a family day out, because of the large areas of grass many families come here with tents, hammocks and picnics also using the wide-open spaces to play sports. On any Saturday or Sunday, you will see many happy people here, usually 3 generations all enjoying the fresh and nature.
After you have finished in the park, there are many options available to you. You can go to Upper Hills, a large shopping and office complex which is connected to the park via a large Arial footbridge. Upper Hills has many food and drink options to choose from, as well as lots of shopping options.

Zhongshan Park
Zhongshan is a revered figure in Shenzhen, with almost every city in China having a park named after him, there are also many universities too including in Guangzhou. And in Taiwan the bank notes have his face on them.
Shenzhen is no different, it also has a Zhongshan park. Straddling nanshan and Bao’an districts this is a little tucked away and often overlooked by many people. It’s not the biggest, most colourful, or even most unique, but it is charming in it’s own way and worth checking out.
As is common with most Shenzhen parks, there is a water feature here, large green areas for picnics, relaxing or kite flying, and lots of rest areas.

Beautiful greenway walk
There is no shortage of green-ways in Shenzhen, from walks to biking and more. Meilin has long been a popular hiking destination due to its low altitude and easy level, and the fact it connects to Tanglang is a big bonus. Meilin also has a great reservoir that is great for a pleasant walk. It is very picturesque and is full of casual local walkers, and on weekends lots of families too. The path is long but very easy and well paved with very little incline. It leads all the way to Xili from Futian. You can do the whole thing or just do a loop on yourself the choice is yours. There is also the option to connect up to Tanglang mountain
Highly recommended. Start at Xiameilin MTR exit D and walk straight ahead to the reservoir

Dapeng vacation
Dapeng is small village east from Shenzhen. If you are taking train closest railway station is Pingshan Railway Station. From there you can take Didi for around 30 minutes ride. You have many options for accommodation, from hotels to some local apartments.
Dapeng is famous by fortress. It was built in 1394 to protect from pirates. Today it is protected by Shenzhen government and you can enjoy and explore for free. On the second picture you can see name of the restaurant, I recommend you to go there. Food is so tasty and it's located at east side of fortress.
Around Dapeng peninsula you have few nice beaches, you can explore them one by one, each of them have something interesting.

Fairy Lake, Xianhu Botanical Park
Fairy Lake or Xianhu gardens is a large botanical park located in Yantian district of Shenzhen, to get there you should take the subway to Xianhu road and walk for about 5 minutes to get to the entrance. Alternatively you could take a 20 min shuttle bus or taxi from Luohu.
It costs 10RMB per person for entry which is really cheap for what you get access to. The park is primarily a large road and walking trail filled with different species of plants, most of the trees and flowers have labels telling you their scientific names which is really cool. If you dont want to walk all the way around the park (probably takes 1.5 hours) you can take a bus to the interesting points. I would suggest the bus if you travel here during hot summer months as it can get particularly humid and sweaty here.
There are several points of interest around the park, the first of which is the main central lake, with a small rocky beach area and a few small rivers, they sometimes have boats on the lake. Nearby are some trees planted by famous Chinese leaders. There are several small gardens like aquatic plants, bonsai garden (currently closed), fossil forest, pagoda, temple and cactus garden. The cacti are particularly impressive and i highly recommend visiting.
There is also a geological museum, and you can pay extra to enter the temple area which is inhabited by monks.

Folk Cultural Village by night
Shenzhen Folk Culture village is a large theme park located near to Window of the World and Baishizhou subway station. Touring this park takes about 2 hours. The park has several sections, the first section is a food, shops, souvenir, entertainment and games section. The second section is an art and light show area. The biggest section is a miniature village exhibition of famous chinese landmarks such as the great wall and beijing summer palaces.
If you visit at night time (which i would highly recommend) most of the large art pieces will be lit up with multicoloured lights, which look stunning. Part of the miniature village is unavailable to walk around but you can still take a miniature train tour around the whole park, and see the China miniatures all lit up with lights, they also have some religious and cultural statues and other art pieces.
Once you finish the tour you can get some food or play some games in the entertainment area of the park, there is a variety to choose from. There are some areas of the park dedicated to showing chinese history with staff dressed up in costumes and the buildings made to look like old China. There is also a large pagoda which looks amazing at night.

Shenzhen joy
Amazing day, wonderful Shenzhen. This was only one of many places that I visited in Shenzhen. Every part of their city is a city itself. So many theme parks, and in all of them another story. Weather was perfect, not too cold or hot, so we were able to walk all day. I highly recommend you to visit Baoan center and Shenzhen bay Area both during the day and night. It's an entirely different feeling and vibe. Night life in this city is a must. So many wonderful bars and the night clubs, such as Favela, Mambo etc.
Shenzhen is a city that never sleeps and it's never boring. You need at least one month to see everything there. #nationalpark #shenzhen
Dawan Hakka village
Located at Dawan District, Pingshan, Shenzhen
This Hakka Village is the newest addition to the featured preserved neighborhood in East of Shenzhen. (on the list with Ancient city of Dapeng) Old ruins where you can have a glimpse of how the early Chinese lives in Dawan.
Pretty wide place to explore I must say.
According to the history, the village was owned by the famous and rich family of Zeng. Consisting of 400 rooms, the big family of Zeng lives there.
As of now, the Pingshan Media Center conducts free trips to Dawan for expats living in Shenzhen to promote the place. A whole day trip from CBD to Pingshan. A good trip indeed.

Shenzhen Waterfalls
For a megacity full of glass skyscrapers, it’s easy to get lost in Shenzhen’s downtown and forget to get out into the outskirts- that’s where spots like Maluanshan come in.
Easily accessible by subway (plus a short taxi journey), Maluanshan is a popular spot that ditches the glass skyscrapers for tall trees, dirt tracks and a small waterfall.
Head there early with some snacks to grab a spot on the rocks looking at the water and you’ve got the perfect little picnic spot for lunch. Then, once you’ve grabbed some snaps, head off-road for a couple of km’s to Xichong beach - the perfect end to the day.
From there, you can get a bus back to Yantian subway station on line 2.

Most spectacular weekend!
You must stay at this hotel. 30 minutes from the airport. Rent a car from the hotel - only 200 rmb. Worth having your transport waiting for you to take you straight to the hotel. When you arrive you won't trust your surroundings. If you want to go, go in the off season - we went the week before the October holiday for China, and no one was there. Maybe 8 people in the pool when we were there every day! Great pool, best breakfast area and so much choice. Great executive lounge! Must be friends with Leon. He pays attention to everything and pays attention to small details. He made our visit to the lounge even better.
The room we stayed in - perfect. The boardwalk is so much fun!

Bijiashan Park, Shenzhen
Bijiashan mountain park is a beautiful, quiet and quite large park found near the center of shenzhen, it is close to Lianhuacun subway station and has multiple entrances around its perimeter. Its primary feature is a river running down its length into a series of plant filled lakes in the south. There are many paths winding throughout the park, with many small pagodas, seating areas, rock formations, art pieces and flower beds around the park to see and experience. There are many bridges crossing the river and some boardwalks that go through the river reeds and down into the lakes. Most of the park include a bike path except part of the park which is still under construction. Some of the paths lead up to a mountain top vista area where you can get a great view of much of the city.

Interlaken Town, OCT East, Sz
It's an abandoned little town of Swiss-model like architecture. As in its just a park, no tenants, shops are all closed. Restaurants are closed. The only thing you can do is get your cameras ready and take as much selfie as you like. Seriously, the place is worn out.
Getting There - a 35mins Didi ride from CBD Futian can cost 88rmb
Attractions - Tea Stream Valley train that travels around the whole OCT East
Hotels - Interlaken hotel, and Oasis-O Hotel
Food & Restaurants - both hotels got their respective restaurants/cafeteria
In Interlaken hotel, they serve Western and Chinese cuisine
Wherein Oasis-O hotel, they serve Chinese cuisine
Shopping - buying souvenir is not much a thing here because most of the shops are closed down
I still had a good time walking around it. ❤️

Shenzhen skyline from Lianhua mountaintop
After hiking to the top of Lianhua mountain you will be rewarded with this amazing view of the city, especially lit up at nighttime it is a sight to behold. This is a prime place to view the light shows that go on for part of the year, although it will likely be very crowded. The hike takes about 30-45 minutes and is best done at a cooler time of year or at night time as it can get very sweaty, i recommend bringing lots of water.
The ping an tower dominates the night skyline and looks incredible with its lighting, possibly the only better view of shenzhen is from the observation deck of the ping an building.
Another thing to note is that you may see many large snails on the paths leading up to the top of the mountain, take care not to step on them.

Nanshan mountain (near Sea World)
Getting There - Sea World (Exit D)
Attractions - an enjoyable hike
It takes about 10min to walk to the entrance of the park from the metro station. There is no fee to get in to the park.
The hike is not difficult, so you will see many people who are actually running all the way up there. It takes about 1,5-2hrs to get to the top of the mountain and walk back. The views from the top of the park are very satisfying! You can see the downtown of Shenzhen and the seaside.
Overall, it's a good activity for you, if you're staying in that area and want to keep active! On the weekend you can see many people there, but because of the size of the park, it will not seem too crowded. #decembertravel #scenicspotguide #nationalpark

MADISON Hotel ❤️
Yeppppp that ship is a hotel. ❤️
Fully functioning hotel. Sitting in the heart of Sea World, in Shekou, Shenzhen.
Address - Sea World Square, Shekou, Shenzhen, 518067, Guangdong, China
Ambiance/Facilities - it's a ship! Imagine you take a cruise tour, only, this ship doesn't move. Cabins are not too big, not too tight. Just average size. They got a bunch of small restaurants and cocktail bars at the top level of the ship where you can enjoy the sunset or an evening of wines and music. It overlooks the whole Sea World facade.
Highlights - I really like that grand staircase on the main floor. It's like from the movie "Titanic"
Avg. Price per Person - rooms range for 357 to 450rmb.
