Trip to Shirakawa-go, Japan 🇯🇵
It was a trip to Shirakawa-go, Japan. Shirakawa-go, nestled in the Japanese Alps, is a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its charming gassho-zukuri farmhouses and idyllic scenery.
We arrived in Shirakawa-go in the late afternoon, just in time to catch the golden hour ⛅️ The warm light bathed the traditional thatched-roof houses in a golden glow, making it a perfect time for photography 📸 As the sun set, the village lights flickered on, and the evening ambiance was magical. We would recommend strolling through the quiet streets to take atmospheric night shots, especially around the Wada House.

We spent the day wandering the charming streets of Ogimachi Village, stopping by smaller farmhouses like the Kanda House for interior shots 📸 We recommend photographing the intricate details of these historic homes in the soft midday light. Don’t miss the riverbank for reflections of the village in the water.
We also visited the Gassho-Zukuri Minkaen Outdoor Museum, where you can take unobstructed shots of restored traditional homes.
