We're not skiers, but we've been to the Rosa Khutor resort twice. We especially like it in the summer. The air is clean, there aren't many people (or maybe we were just lucky), and the hotels are adequate. We stayed for 3-5 days. Longer stays would be boring (in my opinion), but you can spend part of your vacation actively: take the cable car up the mountains, ride the toboggan run, hike the trails, and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. In the evening, you can sit in a café on the waterfront. There's also a water park, casino, and other entertainment nearby. We split our Sochi vacation between the mountains and the sea, so there was no need to go to the sea (we later booked a hotel by the sea), but if necessary, you can get to the sea by train or take buses from the hotels. The resort has grocery stores (also at the crossroads), cafes and restaurants, a "Vkusno" (a local specialty), pharmacies, clothing stores, and sporting goods stores. #Sochi #RosaKhutor #Cable Car

Our perfect June in Sochi 🌊🏔️ If you think Sochi is all about beaches, you simply haven't seen it in June! We allocated five days for our trip, and it was the perfect quick recharge. Weather and atmosphere: June is the "golden time." The sweltering heat hasn't yet set in, the air is fresh (24–26°C), and the sea is already beginning to warm up gently. The city is literally immersed in greenery and flowers. Our 5-day itinerary: Day 1-2: Coastal Sochi. We strolled along the embankment, stopped by the Seaport for some aesthetically pleasing photos, and Navaginskaya Street (the local "Arbat" with palm trees). Day 3: Krasnaya Polyana (Mountain delight!). This was the highlight of the entire trip. We took the cable cars to the peak. The contrast was incredible: 25 degrees below, and snow still lay on the peaks above! The air was pure enough to drink. Day 4-5: Strolls through the Dendrarium and Southern Cultures parks, followed by a relaxing beach getaway (dolphins swam right up to the shore, it's no myth!), buying churchkhela at the market, and a farewell dinner overlooking the sunset. Tips for future adventurers: Bring a windbreaker to Polyana! Even if it's hot below, it can be cool and windy at the top. Comfortable shoes. You'll be hiking a lot in the mountains. Food. Krasnaya Polyana has plenty of great cafes with views, but the prices are "mountain prices." Look for cozy places in Esto-Sadok, where they're a bit more affordable. After the New Year holidays, I decided to treat my aunt and mom to a trip to Krasnaya Polyana in January 2026. The prices for flights to St. Petersburg on Aeroflot were a pleasant surprise. We took a Yandex taxi from Sochi Airport, resisting the temptation of taxi drivers at the airport exit. The price was 2,377 rubles for a Comfort+ package. We booked a hotel for four days in advance through Trip.com so we could get some fresh air and show my family how much things have changed since their youth. We stayed at the 4* Snega Hotel. It's a decent hotel; choose one with a mountain view. The spa is included and opens until 10 PM. The breakfasts were excellent. A huge plus is the free cable car ride to Rosa Khutor for those aged 70+—or, more accurately, the cost is 1 ruble. I recommend starting your tour from the very top; it offers beautiful views and allows for lots of memorable photos. I won't list everything, I think everyone already knows it. My family enjoyed the vacation, especially the trip to the casino in Krasnaya Polyana. It was a first for the active pensioners. Our vacation didn't end there.

There are many places that are just a figment of the imagination, but the optimal route for those who haven't been to Sochi and want to see the key sights is: The days can be used in any order: Day 1: We go to Polyana and choose a resort: Krasnaya Polyana with the ski lift to the Black Pyramid, or Rosa Khutor with the ski lift to Rosa Peak. We hike in the mountains at various altitudes, descend in the evening, eat at any of the traditional restaurants, and optionally stop at the Casino in the evening. Day 2: Sochi. From the bus station, we go down Navaginskaya (a pedestrian street), cross the road, and arrive at the Seaport. From there, turn left and walk along the embankment for 1-1.5 km. If you're looking for beaches, choose either this embankment or Riviera Beach (you don't need to go to the park, it's outdated). Optionally, we visit the Arboretum, which is simply full of plants, trees, and flowers. Towards sunset, we head to Sirius and stroll along the embankment. We enter the Olympic Park for a stroll, and half an hour after sunset, we see the musical and light show of the singing fountains. We stay facing the stadium, not to the side, so we can see the entire light show. Day 3 – Full-day excursion to Abkhazia. That's it! Now you've seen all the main sights: Navaginskaya, the Seaport, the embankment, Sirius and the Olympic Park, the beautiful embankment, the singing fountain show, visited the mountains, optionally the casino, and stopped in Abkhazia. The morning mist over the Bosphorus Strait has not yet lifted, and the hills on the Asian side are already edged with gold. Today, I will measure this “City of Seven Hills” with my own feet—from the waves at the Eurasian boundary to the sunset at the hilltop fortress, exploring Istanbul’s ultimate mountain and sea symphony. 🏔️ Act One: The Summit of the Seven Hills—Overlooking the Empire’s High Ground Pierre Loti Hill is the first stop.
