Son La
The Northwest in spring is truly a paradise of blooming flowers.
Coming to Son La to climb the 7th highest mountain in Vietnam, Ta Chi Nhu, you will have a trip that combines the leisurely pace of Lao Than peak with the beauty of the old forest of Putaleng, and a part of NamKang Hotao. For someone who has climbed all 15 peaks, I highly appreciate the beauty of this road, especially in the season of hawthorn flowers - wild apples blooming white like frost and snow, rhododendron flowers still shy on the green leaves, young maple leaves just budding like red flames, walking on the gentle forest floor listening to the wind blowing up from the slope below the valley, suddenly feeling the troubled heart suddenly soften again.. It is so ideal for a gentle walk with nature, where every blade of grass and leaf can tell you a story.. .. #checkinVietNam #checkinSonLa

Son La Prison History Museum
This was originally a prison and is now used as a history museum, which is very good
The history of Son La Prison was built in 1908 by French colonialists with an initial area of 500 m2.
The prison was built very solidly.
The walls were made of stone and brick, the roof was covered with tin, and there was no ceiling.
The prisoners' beds were also made of stone, with a cemented surface and glued on the outer edges.
A vertical leg shackle system along the length of the floor.
Each cell had a floating toilet that was higher than the floor, had no lid, did not flush, and was not cleaned regularly.
This design caused the northwest Lao wind to bring scorching heat in summer and bone-chilling cold with frost in winter, plus the polluted environment of Vietnam caused each cell to develop diseases that spread very quickly.
In 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, rousing the people to rise up to fight against the brutal regime of feudalism. The struggle movement tried every possible way to suppress and persecute Vietnamese patriots to surprise the enemy and crush the revolutionary movement. Meanwhile, strengthening construction and expanding the prison system throughout the country, with special attention paid to Son La Prison. In 1940, Son La Prison was expanded
This is where the heroes who were considered political prisoners were held. If you are interested, please take a look. It is surprisingly interesting to see. However, all the exhibits are in Vietnamese.

Discovering Ta Xua - Son La
Traveling to the wild Northwest mountains always makes many travelers surprised and captivated. Almost everyone who comes here falls in love with the beauty of the great nature and the simple and simple people. The landscape picture here is drawn by the brilliant peach and plum blossom seasons on the background of immense ripe golden terraced fields.
And certainly not to mention the high mountains submerged in the sea of white clouds that erase the whole sky. However, you are not always lucky enough to see this sight. Because of that, many people wish to go to Ta Xua successfully once to fully enjoy the wonderful natural picture of this remote region.

Blade Mountain-The Mysterious Natural Wonder of Vietnam
#vietnamtrip
📍 Address: Tà Xùa Mountain Range, Bắc Yên District, Sơn La Province, Northern Vietnam
Blade Mountain, also known as the “Dinosaur Backbone,” is a striking natural ridge famed for its knife-like narrow path that cuts across the clouds. Nestled in the rugged Tà Xùa range, the mountain offers breathtaking sunrise views over seas of mist and surreal cloud valleys, making it a favorite among Vietnamese trekkers and landscape photographers.
The journey requires stamina and balance, but the reward is a panoramic ridge walk high above the clouds that feels almost otherworldly.
🧭 Tips for Visitors:
• Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good grip — the ridge can be slippery.
• Best time to go is during dry season (November–March) for cloud hunting.
• Local guides are recommended for safety and navigation.
• Bring warm clothes — early mornings and high altitudes can be chilly.

Hang Tau
Hang Tau is located in a valley about 20 km from the center of Moc Chau. Here, you will encounter a lush green lawn and wooden houses of the H'Mong people forming a cluster of villages surrounded by mountains and forests. This is truly a primitive village, lacking electricity, internet, and phone signals. The weather in Hang Tau is also quite cold all day and night, so when you come here, you need to bring warm clothes.
The road to Hang Tau village is a winding dirt road, worth experiencing with peaceful scenery and surrounded by corn, cassava, sweet potato, and rapeseed fields. The faded and simple wooden houses are interspersed in the gardens. I heard that during Tet, the trees here will bloom, making Hang Tau an even more interesting destination.
Hang Tau is truly a primitive and peaceful place, with warm people and beautiful scenery. Although the village is very small, the scenery here is unique and lyrical.
