It is a typical terraced ancient village in Songyang County, known as the 'Golden Potala Palace'.

In Lishui City, located in the southwestern part of Zhejiang Province, there is a secluded small town that has been classical for 1800 years👉Songyang.

🚗Transport: About a twenty-minute drive from Songyang county town, self-driving is recommended. During holidays, it can get very congested, so it is suggested to park in the first parking lot. If you're lucky, you might unlock an NPC with a tricycle to take you into the village.

Hidden in a secluded village over 200 meters high in the mountains, dozens of households with black tiles and yellow walls are built along the mountain slope in a terraced fashion, scattered on the hillside and standing along the cliff. Feitengji is hidden in the most tranquil place of the ancient village.
Leaving behind the century-old rammed earth walls, it continues the 'sense of time' of Chenjiapu. To let guests feel the beauty of the scenery, large floor-to-ceiling doors and windows are introduced into the rooms, so that even lying in bed, one can enjoy the view. In this way, a residence that can carry the local style and not lose modern comfort and livability was born. The public area of Feitengji not only attracts many hotel enthusiasts but has also become a well-known landmark in Songyang County town. The lobby is not just a place for check-in procedures but also has a fireplace area.
In winter, you can roast sweet potatoes, cook hot wine, watch movies, and the Mo Coffee, known as the 'most beautiful rural cafe', is one of the signature facilities of Feitengji·Songyang.
I checked in at Chenjiapu Ancient Village on a snowy day in early spring
Taking advantage of the fewer tourists after the holiday, I took a trip to visit a famous Songyang ancient village in recent years—Chenjiapu Village.
Starting from Yunhe Huang area, I took the highway to the Songyang Xiangxi exit, and the traffic was fairly smooth. The asphalt road into the mountains was rugged, but there was little traffic. Since we are used to driving in the mountains, despite some signs of landslides, the journey was smooth. Along the way, I also had a distant view of Xikeng Village (picture 4).
It was not until I turned into the road two kilometers away from the village that I found several bamboo trees (covered with snow) lying across the road. Relying on the high chassis of the SUV, I didn't hesitate and just rolled over them (I later learned that the proud car following us got a big scratch from the bamboo).
It was only when I got out of the car at the entrance of the village that I realized it was snowing, not drizzling. Wet and cold, luckily I was too lazy to carry a suitcase when I left home, so I wore two thick wool sweaters inside my silk cotton jacket and put on a thick wool vest, plus a cashmere scarf, so I didn't freeze and shiver. But I really regretted not wearing a hat!!!
First, I checked in at the Pioneer Bookstore. After passing through the narrow village paths, I came to the bookstore on the outermost side of the village, and was surprised to find that despite the cold weather and light snow, there were still a few people checking in at the trendy bookstore.
Mr. He, who loves reading, found that many books were still unopened, but he still found what he wanted to read, sipping coffee while browsing. Hmm, the taste is good—I mean the coffee.
The scenery around the Pioneer Bookstore is just so-so, but this stray cat is really clingy. Probably because it's seen a lot of people.
Leaving the village, we took a different route and passed by the Wooden Words & Phrases Homestay. The owner warmly invited us to sit down. I found that the environment for drinking coffee here is better than at the bookstore (the last picture). Next time I come, I can really have a cup here and chat with the owner.
Due to the heavy fog from the rain and snow, the mountain scenery was not visible. Compared to Huang area, the ancient village environment is average, but the business types are richer than Huang area, with not only homestays and coffee houses but also woodworking workshops, pottery bars, bookstores, farmhouses...
Visiting Chenjiapu in winter and rainy seasons, it's really necessary to understand the road conditions in advance.
The ancient village and the bookstore
Thanks to the fame of the bookstore, this village on the top of the mountain has become a hit on the internet. The road into the village is congested, and visitors have to park their cars and walk nearly 2 kilometers up the mountain road, still in high spirits. No one buys books in the bookstore, it seems that everyone is here for the bookstore rather than the book itself, which can also be considered as a classic example of the mutual achievement of the bookstore and the ancient village.

What's most surprising is that there is even a special bar here. The bartender is skilled, mixing cocktails with vibrant colors and rich flavors. In the bar, listening to relaxing music and savoring delicious cocktails, one can forget all worries.
In addition to the bar, there is also a handmade wind chime activity. Under the guidance of the teacher, I made my own wind chime. When the wind blows, the wind chime emits a crisp sound, as if telling the stories of the mountains and forests.

Songyang in Lishui | This homestay fulfilled all my yearnings for life in the mountains
After a month, there are always a few days when I grow tired of the busy city life and just want to hide away in the mountains, turn off my phone, and enjoy some alone time. This time, we came to Songzhuang Village in Songyang County, Lishui City, where we started our wonderful life in the mountains in a small village with green tiles as hats and yellow walls as clothes.

🍑Homestay Design | The homestay is located in the ancient village of Songzhuang, known as the 'last secret land of Jiangnan'. The entire homestay is scattered in a corner of the village, built on the original architecture of the ancient village, giving people a feeling of returning to rural life as soon as they enter.
🍑Homestay Dining | The food is light and well-matched, using seasonal ingredients. By chance, we also found a small vegetable garden in the homestay, and the coriander used for dinner was grown by ourselves.
🍑Room Distribution | With an architectural area of over 1500 square meters, there are 15 wooden rammed earth guest rooms. We stayed in 'Land', which is halfway up the mountain and has a very open view.
🍑Room Facilities | The rooms are equipped with floor heating, air conditioning, humidifiers, refrigerators, smart toilets, hair dryers, and other facilities.
