After our castle hunting, we drove to Carrick Hills which is thr highest hill closest to Ayrshire. It was only 5 miles south from the Dunure Castle. This place is so beautiful , it overlooks Ayshire and the beautiful coast. There are a number of ways to reach the top of Carrick Hill , you can either just drive just like what we did or if you are a hiker you can hike up. We have seen a few hikers when we were on ouway to the top. There is no entrance fee. This gorgeous hill is for free for everyone. Once the private residence of Sir Edward and Lady Ursula Hayward, the house is now a museum showcasing fine art, antiques, and beautifully preserved interiors inspired by English country homes. The surrounding gardens feature manicured lawns, walking paths, and sweeping views of the city and coast. Travel Tip: Allow at least 2–3 hours to explore both the house and gardens. Wear comfortable walking shoes, check guided tour times for interior access, and visit in spring or autumn when the gardens are at their best.

House entry is just 17 dollars per adult(consession rates available), and worth having a look as it's wonderfully preserved and quite a beautiful house. Pets allowed in garden but not the house. Recommend. Loved the house tour ☺️

Haven't really had a chance for heaps of fresh air, and finally, this is the day! I got an instant thought of going on a picnic and my friends were like, "Let's gaurrrrrr ! " Driving all the way up to Carrick Hill, and the view was spectacular with those sunlight and flowers. There were moments when i nearly fell asleep on the picnic rug 😴 The only thing to comment on was that the cafe there was a bit overpriced.#picnic
