🚗 We arrived at Chaya Mountain Scenic Area at noon. There is a parking lot at the south gate of the scenic area, which is very convenient and close to the entrance. There was a security guard at the entrance of the parking lot who recommended his farmhouse, but we didn't go. There is a Dicos and a supermarket near the entrance of the scenic area, and the visitor center also provides hot water and tables and chairs for rest.
🕙 The play time is from 13:20 to 17:30, about 4 hours. We only walked the red line, and took the sightseeing bus after going down the mountain. The whole journey is about 10,000 steps, which is not too tiring.
🎫 Pay attention to the ticket information! We bought the Great Sage package, which costs CNY 158 for adults and CNY 138 for those under 18 with a student ID or proof from the China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center. The package includes a CNY 68 ticket, a CNY 40 magic carpet, a CNY 30 slide, and an CNY 80 drift. Chaya Mountain, also known as Linglong Mountain and Xiyou Fairy Mountain, is an extension of the eastern edge of the Funiu Mountains. It is connected to Nanshan, Beishan, Huaguo Mountain, and Liufeng Mountain, with Xiumihu, Pipa Lake, Baihua Lake, and Tianmo Lake dotted among them. There are more than 300 scenic spots including peaks, caves, shelters, and rocks. This route had beautiful lake and mountain scenery, which was breathtaking; this time, it was an approximately 8-kilometer route featuring dangerous mountain roads and unique rock formations: Nanshan Gate - Journey to the West Cultural Square - Xiumihu - Black Wind Cave - Bao Gong Temple - Huaihua Valley - Take the magic carpet up the mountain - Stone Monkey Courtyard - Suspension Bridge - Line Sky - Flying Stone - Guanyin Sending Child - Phoenix Terrace - Take the cliff slide down the mountain - Fengshui Ridge - Take the sky drift down the mountain - Pipa Lake - Kayak - Nanshan Gate. Chaya Mountain is located in Suiping County, Zhumadian. Mount Chaya, a 5A-level tourist attraction, is located in Suiping County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province. The TV series Journey to the West was once filmed here, making it the largest attraction in Suiping County.
As soon as you enter the scenic area, you are greeted by statues from Journey to the West, even the trash cans are themed with characters from the show.

This is the easiest mountain I have climbed, and also the one with the most surprises. This is one of the filming locations of the 1986 version of 'Journey to the West', located in Suiping, Zhumadian! Before coming here, I never thought that just by stones, a mountain's beauty could be upheld. In the winter when the vegetation is withered, looking at the strange rocks and peaks is really the best choice for a trip. The altitude here is not high, and there are no particularly steep steps. Along the way, I saw many children and elderly people climbing. This trip to Zhumadian really brought me too many surprises! Zhumadian is very good, I will come again next time!
