Hanting Hotel - Shanghai Bund Jiujiang Road
We had a pleasant stay at Hanting Hotel (Shanghai Bund Jiujiang Road).
The room was nice and clean, small but cozy and comfortable. We had a really good sleep.
The highlight of this hotel was the location. It was ideal, it was just located a few minutes away from The Bund which was very convenient.
The lobby is on the 12th floor so it can be a bit difficult to find the right building. You just need to take the lift and go upstairs.
The only drawback was the breakfast. All the food was packed in small plastic bags. If they provide a better breakfast they will have better reviews.
Apart from that, we had a really nice time there. If you are looking for a hotel close to The Bund, the Hanting hotel might be a nice choice for you.

* Memories of Tomorrow Art Exhibit *
#shanghaitrip
Memories of Tomorrow captivates with its innovative blend of contemporary artistry and futuristic vision. Nestled in the heart of Shanghai's cultural landscape, this exhibit offers a mesmerizing journey through time and imagination. From bold sculptures to immersive digital installations, each piece invites introspection and challenges perceptions of the past, present, and future. A must-visit for art enthusiasts seeking to be inspired and transported beyond the confines of conventional reality.
Shanghai's bustling art scene constantly introduces new exhibits, and The Rockbund, adjacent to the Christmas Markets, is no exception. Priced at 80RMB, the latest exhibit I explored occupies a modest yet captivating single room. Its design is both intriguing and unconventional, as it delves into the realm of the digital age and its impact on existence, offering a thought-provoking exploration of life's manipulation through technology.

Prepare to be spellbound as Shanghai transforms into a mesmerizing glowing city during the Lantern Festival.🚨
The Lantern festival in Shanghai is beautiful. I really recommend the traditional shanghai food inside the festival and especially the dumplings. (Look at the photos and get hungry)
I visited just two days after the Chinese new year day, there were a lot of people, but the shanghai police managed the people well, but if you wanted to visit the oldest tea house and pass through the zig-zag bridge you had to wait 2 hours.🕝
Note:
1. Yu Garden and the Lantern Festival are different locations with different tickets to enter.
2. The price to enter is 80 RNB

Scenes of old Shanghai in downtown
Just a stone throw away from Jing’an Sculpture Park and very near the Natural History Museum there is one strip of road that comes to blend both arts and history, this is Shanhaiguan Road 山海关路
Walk through this peaceful street and you will be surprised by scenes of old Shanghai lifestyle depicted in mural painting and sculptures made of bronze.
These scenes may as well show the multicultural and cosmopolitan allure that Shanghai has boosted for centuries , when the city was divided in foreign concession and locals mingles with foreigners.
Cafes with pastries and bakeries, tea houses or pottery and ceramics, young couples riding bicycles, all these are scenes that can enjoyed in these realistic and lively paintings en plain air.
If you happen to be in the area do not hesitate to take a short detour and enjoy this museum in the open air.

Wuning Road Bridge - French vibes in Shanghai
Head towards the northwestern part of downtown Shanghai to discover a piece of French monumental style in a bridge they crosses the Suzhou River.
Wuning Road Bridge (武宁路桥) in Shanghai's Putuo District was built in 1956, and took several renovation in the next years up until its current look that happens after an entire renovation in the year 2009.
This is possibly one of the most ornamented bridges over the Suzhou River, and there are quite a few beautiful bridges there.
The uniqueness of Wuning Road bridge is in its golden covered sculptures sitting atop the pillars, a quite spectacular contrast with the marble-like stones that shape the bridge.
The nearby wall murals of the Old Carrefour that depict scenes of Paris most iconic landscapes certainly make it a great viewpoint for an enchanting panorama.

Bright colors in Shanghai Yejiazhai Rd
Yejiazhai Road is a little-known area in the northwest part of Shanghai’s downtown, quite close to Wuning Road metro station and Changshou Road metro station.
This area is a nest of restaurants, fashion boutiques, some art galleries and other lifestyle shops like bicycle workshops or skateboard stalls.
It is very near the Suzhou River, so a lot of passers-by arrive here while taking a nice walk by the riverside promenade.
One of the highlights in this area is a white building with strong tones of red, blue and yellow offering a very picturesque scene and a wonderful setting for photography.
The building looks like an art piece by Mondrian, with geometric shapes and square angles depicting a tapestry of primary colors that catches the eye of everyone nearby.
Certainly a place to check out when in Shanghai, to experience the cool artsy and street style vibes of the city

Antique shop and vintage cafe in Shanghai
One of those off-the-path places that makes Shanghai a very special and multicultural city can be found just besides the Suzhou Creek in the Caoyang district.
This is Fontaine Antique Shop, located in Changshou Road 652, just a few minutes walk from Wuning Road metro station.
From outside you will encounter an old-fashioned vibe that contrasts with Shanghai modern skyscrapers and tech driven urban landscape. Elements such as a horse-pulled cart, pieces of a carrousel or vintage posters make it a great scenario for photos.
Next to it there is a cafe, that even if it was abandoned when we visited, it still preserves a nice cozy and antique vibe.
A great place to spend a couple hours taking pics and exploring trying to imagine what it once was.

Parisian dream in Shanghai
Next to the Wuning Road bridge that crosses the Suzhou creek in the northwestern part of downtown Shanghai there is one building that strikes because of its painted murals.
The building is covered with paintings that represent Paris and other iconic places in France. There are famous landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, but also common buildings with shops, bakeries and cafes.
It was first used by the French supermarket Carrefour to open one big space with shops and other business, and of course a Carrefour supermarket.
It even had the record, in 2009, as the largest mural painting in the world in trompe-l’oeil style with its 5000 square metres.
Nowadays the building is empty but the photo opportunities there are still worth a detour, to feel like in Paris even though you are in Shanghai.
