Portland Japanese Garden
#timetotravel There's something I learned when we visited the Portland Japanese Garden. My uncle said it was an act of goodwill by the American government after World War 2.
They didn't want Americans to fully hate the Japanese and instead have a cultural exchange by establishing Japanese gardens in USA. It was to learn from each other.
I was amazed by the thought of it and I'd really like to see more places like this. It was so peaceful here, a nice break from the city life.

Selangor - Japan Friendship Garden
This little park is slightly different from any other local parks in Klang Valley as it has Japanese elements and you will see beautiful maze gardens, koi ponds (I don't find any koi now though) and some unique stones arrangements/deco.
This garden apparently costs RM 3.8M to built. It is free entry for all and open daily except Mondays. It is worth a visit if you are nearby this part of Selangor! During the visit, we find many university graduates taking photos there too :)

Exploring Nara With Adorable Deers - Nara Park
Nara Park is an absolute gem! The adorable and friendly deer roaming freely gives the place a unique charm. Feeding them is a delightful experience. The cute deers were the most polite wildlife we've ever encountered, so it's a given that we should be polite too when visiting their home.
The park's surroundings boast incredible temples like Todaiji, with its awe-inspiring Great Buddha statue. There's also Kokufu-ji, Kasuga Taisha, and other interesting sites surrounding the deer park.
Exploring the park and these historic temples is a perfect way to immerse yourself in Nara's rich history and natural beauty. It's a must-visit for anyone traveling to Japan! 🦌🏯

Brooklyn's Oasis: The Japanese Pond & Garden
In the midst of Brooklyn's urban jungle, I found a tranquil sanctuary that felt worlds away from the city's hustle and bustle: the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This gem is one of the oldest and most visited Japanese-inspired gardens outside Japan, a testament to the timeless allure of Japanese landscape design.
Combining the ancient hill-and-pond style with the more recent stroll-garden style, this garden is an artful balance of tradition and innovation. The journey through its winding paths revealed a series of carefully orchestrated scenes: the undulating contours of artificial hills around a pond, a waterfall cascading with a gentle roar, and an island standing as an epitome of solitude. The meticulous placement of rocks added to the sense of tranquillity and equilibrium, their silent presence a narrative of Zen philosophy.
The garden's architectural elements further enhanced its authenticity. I crossed over wooden bridges, walked past stone lanterns, and found moments of reprieve in a viewing pavilion and a Shinto shrine. The striking vermilion-coloured wooden torii, a traditional Japanese gate, marked the spiritual significance of the space. As I stood beneath it, the sounds of Brooklyn faded into the distance, and I was momentarily transported to a serene corner of Japan, right here in the heart of New York.

Japanese Garden - Kolkata
Japanese Garden in Ecopark Kolkata is small but beautifully designed garden and have a Temple, FushimaInnari Tori gate’s installation and few more attractions. It looks good and gives some Japanese vibes. There is also a restaurant inside which was closed so not sure if it’s a Japanese restaurant and sells Japanese cuisines or not. This is in front of Lake and takes 15-20 min to visit. #summervacation #eveningwalks #celebratewithtrip #japanesegarden #Visitkolkata #Kolkataphotography #photography #travelphotographer #summervacationtravel #Summerevenings #travelinsipiration

✅A great little spot inside Rizal Park🌺🌼🌿
🌼🌻JAPANESE GARDEN🌺🌸- A small garden with a big lake inside Rizal Park surrounded by trees. Inside can be found a lagoon & a bridge.
No entrance fee.. It is built to promote friendship and tolerance between Japan & the Philippines. Located next to the Chinese Garden. Not too many people, so the atmosphere is relaxing. It's nice to take a pleasant walk around the garden. #japanesegarden #rizalpark #manila #takeabreak #manilaphilippines
A Japanese x British fusion 🇯🇵🇬🇧
One of the things that I adore about London is how multicultural it is. Quite often, you don't have to leave the city to visit another country - you travel through food, culture or spots like this one.
This is Kyoto Garden and it is located in Holland Park and is one of the most beautiful gardens in London. The Kyoto Garden offers a unique, Japanese-style landscape that’s perfect for quiet reflection and relaxation.
The Kyoto Garden was opened in 1991. It was a gift from the city of Kyoto to commemorate the long friendship between Japan and Great Britain. Today, the Kyoto Garden is a popular part of Holland Park – but it’s not the only Japanese garden in this green space. In July 2012, the Fukushima Memorial Garden was officially opened. It commemorates the gratitude of the Japanese people to the British people for their support following the natural disasters that struck in March 2011.
Holland Park is located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and its address is Ilchester Pl, London W8 6LU. The Kyoto Garden is situated right in the middle of the park.

Yes, a Japanese garden in Suburban Sydney
Unknown to many guests to the city, Sydney has a colourful, vast and perfectly manicured Japanese Garden 40 minutes west of the city by Train. The Auburn botanic garden is home to this treasure as well as an Australian Billabong, a recreated Australian rainforests AND a number of Australian animals, such as Kangaroos, Wallabies, Emus and Wombats. Entry is really cheap at $7 and the nearby town centre is a fascinating example of a multicultural Australian suburb with residents from all over the world.
