Taiwan's First Railway Tunnel, the Liu Mingchuan Tunnel
Location: No. 129, Chongde Road, Anle District, Keelung City
Introduction: The Liu Mingchuan Tunnel is a city-designated historic site, also known as the Shiqiuling Tunnel. During the eleventh year of the Guangxu Emperor's reign, Liu Mingchuan, the Governor of Taiwan, actively developed Taiwan, promoted the Westernization Movement, and advocated for the establishment of railways.
In the thirteenth year of Guangxu, he was granted permission to establish the 'General Bureau of Railways and Commerce of Taiwan'. The first section from Keelung through Taipei to Hsinchu was constructed, among which the tunnel project at Shiqiuling in Keelung was the most challenging. Work began in the spring of the fourteenth year of Guangxu and was not completed until the summer of the sixteenth year, taking a total of thirty months to break through; the Shiqiuling Tunnel is approximately 235 meters long, the first railway-exclusive tunnel in Taiwan, and the only railway tunnel from the Qing Dynasty period.
Tickets: Free
Experience: Taiwan's first railway tunnel holds significant historical value and meaning. In an era when technology was not advanced, the ability to carve such a tunnel can truly be described as conquering nature. It is well worth a visit.

The Famous Landmark of Miaoli, Longteng Broken Bridge
Location: On Miaoli County Highway 49 in Sanyi Township, Miaoli County
Introduction: Longteng, formerly known as 'Fish Vine Flat', is named after a legend where the early settlers were troubled by a carp spirit in the Carp Pond. To subdue the mischievous carp spirit, the settlers planted fish vine throughout the Longteng mountain area. At the same time, they named the high mountain to the east 'Guandao Mountain', with the intention of using Guandao Mountain to cut the fish vine and poison the carp spirit. Eventually, the fish monster ceased to harm the people, and the residents lived and worked in peace and contentment. After World War II, when villages were established in Taiwan, the villagers thought the name 'Fish Vine' was inelegant and renamed it Longteng.
On the morning of April 21, 1935, a major earthquake struck central Taiwan, with the epicenter near Guandao Mountain. The Sanyi area was severely affected, and the majestic Longxi Bridge on the mountain railway line was completely destroyed. After the earthquake, a new bridge was built to the west of the original bridge, leaving behind the arched pillars standing in the sun and wind, as a memorial for future generations. When passing through Sanyi by train, the sight of the Longteng Broken Bridge remnants is striking and leaves a deep impression.
Tickets: Free
Opening Hours: All day
Experience: The Longteng Broken Bridge is certainly one of the very famous attractions. It has taken its current form due to the impact of Taiwan's largest earthquake, the 921 earthquake, which is a stark reminder of the terrifying power of nature. Next to it is the second-generation Longteng railway bridge, allowing visitors to appreciate both the first and second-generation bridges at the same time.

Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival Launches Martial Arts Drama Costume and Prop Exhibition
Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the second Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival (Cultural Festival) adopts the theme 'Both Literary and Martial Arts', featuring a variety of exciting events. Among them, the 'Both Literary and Martial Arts' series includes the 'Classic Martial Arts Drama Costume and Prop Exhibition', which starts on April 17th at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre lobby. The exhibition showcases around thirty pieces of headwear, costumes, and props from television martial arts dramas spanning from the 1970s to the millennium, allowing the audience to relive the classics and experience the martial arts sentiment.
Many well-known martial arts drama series have been adapted from the works of local famous martial arts novelists, including Jin Yong's 'The Return of the Condor Heroes', 'Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils', 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes', 'The Smiling, Proud Wanderer', Huang Yi's 'A Step into the Past', and Liang Yusheng's 'The White-Haired Witch'. Martial arts TV dramas and their related theme songs and soundtracks bring the literary and martial arts scenes from the novels to life. These classic moments have always been an important element of Hong Kong's pop culture, accompanying many viewers as they grew up.
Selected exhibits for this exhibition include: the hero costume worn by Yang Guo in 'The Return of the Condor Heroes'; the elegant and ethereal white dress worn by Little Dragon Girl; the pink outfit worn by Zhou Zhiruo in 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'; and the costume of Princess Changping (Ah Jiu) in 'Sword Stained with Royal Blood'. Prop exhibits include the Dragon Saber from 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber', which caused a bloodbath; the Dog Beating Staff, the symbol of the Beggar's Sect leader in 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes'; the flute of 'Eastern Heretic' Huang Yaoshi; the sword of Lian Ni Chang, the protagonist of 'The White-Haired Witch'; the fan of the male protagonist in 'Chu Liuxiang'; and the knife of Li Xunhuan in 'Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword'. The exhibition runs until May 5th and will move to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum on May 8th to continue until October 7th.
To enrich the audience's experience, the 'Both Literary and Martial Arts' series also includes the 'Literary Songs and Martial Music Concert'. Veteran musician Au Sui Keung will perform many popular martial arts drama theme songs and his classic hits live. Each concert will also feature performances by young singer Au Hing Chun and a special guest. Additionally, there will be a song request segment, allowing the audience to revisit their favorite tunes.
Edible Flowers and Herbs Exhibition at Hong Kong Park
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold an Edible Flowers and Herbs Exhibition at the Forsgate Conservatory in Hong Kong Park from April 22 (Monday), allowing citizens to closely appreciate the beauty of various edible flowers and herbs of the spring season.
Hong Kong's spring climate is mild with gradually lengthening daylight hours, which is suitable for the growth of different types of edible flowers and herbs. This themed exhibition displays more than 500 plants of different forms of spring edible flowers and herbs, including fragrant marigolds, dwarf hibiscus, dryland lotus, borage, calendula, and a variety of herbs, etc.
The flowers and leaves of fragrant marigolds have a rich aroma and are all edible. The tender leaves can be used for tea brewing and cooking, and planting them in a herb garden is most appropriate.
The light pink flowers of the dwarf hibiscus are small and exquisite, and although they only last for a short day, they bloom continuously.
The flowers, leaves, and rhizomes of the dryland lotus (also known as golden lotus) are all edible, with a taste as sweet and slightly spicy as mustard, and a crisp and juicy texture, also with a unique scent.
As for herbs, the humid spring is particularly suitable for the growth of mint family plants. Common types include green mint (also known as spearmint), peppermint, grapefruit mint, etc.
In addition to displaying more than 30 types of spring edible flowers and herbs, the exhibition also sets up panels to introduce their characteristics, planting tips, and propagation methods. The exhibition will be held from April 22 to June 10, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm at the Forsgate Conservatory, 19 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong Park. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to visit.
【Central Market Lunch】Surprise Theme Exhibition.
I went to Central Market for lunch this time and was greeted with a surprise, as the exhibition area had switched to a new theme. There were stalls featuring iconic Hong Kong fish stalls, with such high realism that I couldn't help but take a closer look to confirm that the fish weren't actually fresh. There were also art pieces themed around bamboo scaffolding constructions!
There was even a space for children to draw and release their energy! Truly a great spot for family activities.

Hong Kong Space Museum presents the new 3D dome film 'Polar Extremes 3D'.
Starting from April 1st (Monday), the Hong Kong Space Museum's Stanley Ho Space Theatre will be screening the new 3D dome film 'Polar Extremes 3D', taking audiences on an exploration of Antarctica.
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest place on Earth. 'Polar Extremes 3D' will lead audiences deep into the Antarctic animal world, starting with a dive beneath the ice into a vibrant underwater world, then returning to the surface to join a large penguin colony, and finally enjoying what may be the most whales ever seen on screen. Whales play a key role in mitigating climate change, and the film not only provides a visual spectacle for viewers but also helps them understand the impact of human overhunting of whales on climate change. With global temperatures rising, the film prompts humans to reflect and take action to protect the Antarctic ecosystem, to prevent climate change from disrupting its balance and further affecting the whole world.
The program is 24 minutes long and will be shown until January 13, 2025. Screening times are 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM on weekdays; and 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. Ticket prices are 24 HKD (front seats) and 32 HKD (back seats). Tickets are now available at the Hong Kong Space Museum Box Office and URBTIX.
The Hong Kong Space Museum is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, and is closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays).

A Small Forest in the City - Fuyang Eco Park
📍Location: Fuyang Street, Da’an District, Taipei City
🏘️Introduction: Fuyang Eco Park is just a 5-minute walk from the MRT Linguang Station. It was an ammunition depot during the Japanese era, and now you can still see many signs of the ruins. The park has 8 major themes, where you can see animals such as butterflies, tree frogs, and fireflies, as well as listen to the babbling brook, making it a suitable place for a stroll after work or school.
🎟️Admission: Free
⏲️Hours: Open 24 hours, but with sparse lighting at night, please be cautious for safety
🥰Review: As someone who loves nature, I often find myself trapped in the city due to travel time and scheduling, unable to hike or play in the water. However, the emergence of Fuyang Park has rescued me from the stress after work. The most surprising thing is that you can go to the park to see fireflies from April to June. I highly recommend everyone to take a little time to walk in the park, take a leisurely stroll, climb a little, and sweat it out.

去癲去玩 Ocean Park
Hysterically fun day for the kids!
Ocean Park is simply an action-combo of theme park, IMPRESSIVE aquariums (that's actually kids friendly compared to other aquariums we've been to!), educational animal enclosures, nostalgic history museum (outdoor) all-in-one! The stall games on the mountain are a must for those who wanted to try their luck on winning some plush toys for the kiddos. The staff would teach you some tricks upon asking so there, you can refine your technique without cringing at the cost as the price is very reasonable.
We were blown away by having penguins swimming next to us at the Tuxedo Restaurant up on the summit (we went on a weekday so no booking was needed). Food was decent and reasonably priced compared to other theme parks. Honestly, couldn't have asked for more!
Thank you, Ocean Park. My kids said they wanted to come back every year and we will!
PS - it's a HUGE place so come in your most comfortable shoes, hats and sunscreen. Prioritising where you want to visit is a good idea too. To save time, we went up the Summit by the Ocean Express (faster) and came down the mountain by the Cable Car. Even being there from 10am-7.30pm, we still couldn't finish everything in one day.
Thank you

💙 Whitsunday Islands and Heart Reef Scenic Flight
Hey fellow travelers! Just had the most incredible adventure exploring the Whitsunday Islands and witnessing the awe-inspiring Heart Reef from above on a scenic flight. Let me share the highlights with you!
The Whitsunday Islands are a paradise of turquoise waters, lush greenery, and pristine beaches. From the moment we took off, the panoramic views were absolutely breathtaking. The islands stretched out before us, forming a stunning mosaic of natural beauty.
But the highlight of the flight was undoubtedly Heart Reef. As we soared above, the mesmerizing heart-shaped coral formation came into view, nestled in the crystal-clear waters of the Great Barrier Reef. It was a sight straight out of a dream, and the vibrant colors of the reef were truly enchanting.
The pilot provided fascinating commentary, sharing insights about the islands, the reef, and the delicate ecosystem. The experience was not only visually stunning but also educational, deepening my appreciation for this natural wonder.
If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, I highly recommend taking a scenic flight over the Whitsunday Islands and Heart Reef. It's an opportunity to witness the beauty of nature from a unique perspective and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Ready to soar above paradise? Buckle up and prepare for an experience that will leave you in awe! ✨🏝️✈️

Monastiraki Flea Market Υπαίθρια Αγορά Μοναστηρακίου
Amazing place to spend a few hours. A few tourist shops and bodeags with cheap cute clothes, but the deeper you go into the maze of streets there are true antique sotres with furniture, records, nicknacks, historical items, art, etc.
We've always loved wandering through the flea market every time we're in Athens and have bought some really nice items. This time however it seemed to us that after covid , the asking prices were ridiculous as if the vendors didn't want to sell. Not in the main street but in the side street that opens out into a square.

香港米芝蘭酒樓
Today I went to the old Fengcheng Restaurant, which has been renamed Yidong Restaurant. I heard that all the chefs and waiters are old people, so I decided to go nostalgic.
The place here is not big, but there is a queue to get tickets and wait to be seated. Fortunately, it only takes 20 minutes to get a seat.
Come to Longjing tea first, and then choose various dim sum:
~ 4 fried leeks with fresh shrimp, big and fresh, with shrimp inside, very delicious and chewy.
~Two siu mai huang, very big and wrapped with two or three prawns and pork, chewy and savory.
~Fresh bamboo beef balls, cut very large and old, the taste is more beefy, but I prefer the texture of the teeth.
~The taro duck feet are pricked, the taro is soaked, and the skin of the duck feet is also very refreshing, with a moderate taste and a chewy texture.
~Nostalgic Paku Cotton Chicken, rich in ingredients and very tasty.
~ Simi pudding is also very good, 38 yuan for a small one is a little expensive!
With a full stomach, two more cups of tea are enough to relieve fat 😋🤗

Spend a French summer 🏝 in the most beautiful hotel in Luang Prabang.
Although impoverished, Luang Prabang is home to a variety of excellent hotels, such as the regal Aman, the stunning Rosewood, the elegant Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao, and the chic Avani+. You can easily enjoy a different high-quality hotel every ten days or so, but when it comes to cost-effectiveness and popularity, MYBANLAO probably takes the top spot.
It's needless to say how popular MYBANLAO is. It was converted from the former US embassy and CIA intelligence center during the Vietnam War and is owned by a Singaporean, Bennyy, who has lived in Laos for over a decade. Singaporeans have their own way of managing hotels and can pay attention to many aspects of service that make guests feel more at home. When you arrive at the hotel, they already welcome you with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, "Welcome to my hotel," which adds to the overall sense of comfort.
During the high season, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance instead of relying on walk-ins, as some bloggers might suggest. Choose a room that opens directly to the pool, where you can plunge into the cool water and beat the scorching heat of Luang Prabang.
The hotel provides vintage cars that can take you to places not far from the hotel. With Luang Prabang's small size, it's almost like you can go anywhere in the city. Usually, they shuttle guests to the night market, and then you can take a leisurely walk back to the hotel. The vintage car is so impressive that you might feel like you're walking down the red carpet when you step out. If you're going to see the alms ceremony the next morning, the hotel can also arrange a shuttle service for you. When we checked out and switched to another hotel, MYBANLAO offered to send us to the new hotel, which demonstrates their remarkable service. In addition, if you book two nights straight, the hotel provides a complimentary airport/station transfer service.

One day falling in love with Anshun‼️ This lakeside restaurant alone took about 300 photos.
Hilton buffet is really amazing!! The restaurant's view is too beautiful, I must say. It's definitely the most picturesque buffet restaurant in Anshun.
🥂 Seriously! The variety here is extremely, extremely extensive. Eating buffet here means having both barbecue and hot pot simultaneously. Seafood, pot-roasted chicken, stews, Chinese cuisine, Western cuisine, Japanese food, steamed dishes, desserts, fruits, Anshun specialty vegetarian dishes & dipping sauces, and more.
🍫 The grilled items that are suitable for children are also super delicious. Mini pizzas, chocolate marshmallows, various candies, and so on. 🍬 Very abundant.
✨ They also have occasional live dishes. Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, lobster, Alaskan king crab, emperor crab, and more.
👨🏻🍳 As soon as you enter, there's a Japanese food counter. It's also the spot with the longest queue. At the start of the buffet, the chef will slice fresh salmon sushi right at the entrance.
🍽️ Service at Hilton is of high quality. The staff is enthusiastic. They'll come to tidy up the table and help adjust the heat during the meal. If you need dishes that are made-to-order, you can directly place your order.
🌄 The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel. There's a children's playground for little ones to have fun. The outdoor garden is hidden behind the hotel. With greenery, a lake, the sound of birds, and even two black swans roaming in the water. Everything in front of your eyes is very therapeutic. The indoor area is completely surrounded by glass, offering a panoramic garden view. If you arrive around 6 PM, you can also enjoy the sunset twilight.

🧾 Tips:
Remember to make a reservation in advance 📲. They occasionally serve special dishes, so don't leave early and miss out on them~
Highly recommended is the freshly baked durian pastry‼️ Durian lovers should not miss it. After the meal, you can take a walk to Hongshan Lake across the hotel. It's a pet-friendly park🐶. You can appreciate the charming night view of Anshun while taking a leisurely stroll and digesting. 🌃

Sheung Wan | Avocado lovers must try this Mexican restaurant 🥑.
📍 Verde MAR
Shop 41, Shui Street, Sai Ying Pun, Western District
🍒Review Time
There is no shortage of various cafes and exotic restaurants in the Central and Western District. This time, I visited an avocado-themed restaurant 🥑, with a Mexican chef in charge and many green elements incorporated into the decoration.
▫️Avocado Ice Cream
A must-order item 💯
Super cute avocado-shaped ice cream 🍦
The ice cream is creamy, and the mango ice pop in the middle recreates the avocado pit.
▫️Taco
Classic Mexican dish 🇲🇽
There are many flavors to choose from, and this time I ordered the one with chicken.
The rich ingredients include tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, etc.
You can also add the special Mexican BBQ sauce.
▫️Cheese Grilled Pork with Bell Peppers
The color is even more colorful with three-color bell peppers.
Wrap the filling in tortilla, dip it in avocado sauce and sour cream.
Feel like there is an extra satisfaction? 🤭
▫️Maxican Chicken Wings
There are two levels of spiciness to choose from 🌶️Habanero and 🌶️Pique Dulce.
Habanero is the second hottest chili in the world, so be careful when eating it 😂
Pique Dulce also has three levels of spiciness, but it is very addictive 😆
▫️Avocado Smoothie
The avocado flavor is rich, and the texture is smooth.
A refreshing and healthy choice.
▫️Grapefruit Cocktail
The taste is sweet and easy to drink, suitable for girls.

The Shanghai Mars Island homestay is known as a divine internet-famous homestay. 🏠🌴
Airbnb Address: Mars Island Vacation Home, Pudong New Area, Shanghai.
Finally, Hong Kong and Mainland China have opened their borders, and my family of three can finally travel to Mainland China. We chose to fly to Shanghai just to stay at this Airbnb. The vacation home is stunningly beautiful, with a simple and delicate style. Even the tissue box is in line with the theme, and the details are well done. There are many beautiful spots to take photos, definitely worth a visit. The most important thing is that the vacation home has a piano. After breakfast, my child can practice playing the piano. It's great to learn while traveling. At night, we can even soak in the bathtub 🛁 and sleep comfortably. The front desk sister's service attitude is excellent, giving her a thumbs up 👍👍👍. #GreatPlaceForFamilies #BorderOpening #TravelInspiration #AmazingAirbnb #Recommendation
