Sam Poh Footprint Temple ⛩️👣
Penang is so full of legends. This temple is supposed to contain the footprint of Admiral Cheng Ho. There is also a stone statue dedicated to him. Remember to climb up the steps to get a scenic view of the bridge. I recommend a visit here to enjoy the fresh sea breeze, fishing boats, giant footprint, beautiful garden and temple and serene environment. 🌸
The view of the ocean from the temple with fisherman, boats, wooden bridges, coconut trees and the beautiful Penang bridge is truly mesmerising. Local fisherman come here everyday to pay their respect to the shrine before heading to the sea. 🌊
Well maintained small temple site. Inside one of the building you can see a shape which looks like a huge food. Information boards tell you the story of the origin. The interesting thing is that Chinese, Indians and Malays all have their own origin story.🗞️

#staycation #shakespeare #historicplace in Stratford-on-Avon. Home to William Shakespeare. We saw his former home and saw the sweet little cats at the Shakespaw cafe.
Afternoon tea is recommended here but it is a shame we didn't have the time! Lots of nice restaurants and cafes here. It's a cute town with a market by the canal and cute old houses that have been around since 1600s?
Pasir Salak Historical Complex 🍃✨
For me, this place tells a lot about the related history from the time of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka until the Independence of Malaysia. Apart from that, it has exhibited several types of keris and keris blades as well as introduced several places in Perak Darul Ridzuan. 👀
Good historical portrayal of foreign influences in Perak and Malaysia in general. This historical complex was not crowded and worth a visit if you happen to be around the area. 👣
Very educational place to visit. 👍🏻✨

Perak Museum ❤️✨
Worth to pay a visit although the content is more or less similar to other muziums in Malaysia. The special part is the section with all animal skeletons, its great to view animals from different perspective.
Entry fee is RM2 per person. Nice artefacts, animals section, with traditional clothes, musical instruments and such. Behind the muzium there’s old rolls royce car used in colonial era. 😎
The museum is located about a kilometre from the centre of town on the Jalan Taming Sari, opposite of Taiping prison. 👣
My trip to here very enjoyed. 👍🏻✨

Kota Mahsuri, Langkawi 🕊️🍃
For those who love history this is one of the place you shouldn’t skipped. Kota Mahsuri is one of the attractions in Langkawi. It is a historic place. 👣
A good place to learn about history of the legend of Langkawi, Mahsuri. With a fee RM12, your presence welcome by a group of Malay culture like gamelan, congkak, the replica of Kedah Kampung house, the local kuih with how to make it on spot. You will feel like you are living in that era, traditional time while you here. Plus, its in front of paddy field so, you will see a great green scenery. Very natural and calming. 🥰✨

Mind Blowing !!!
Definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Piste at the nice but inexpensive Hotel Puerto Chichen so we could be on site at opening. We parked in the small ruins car park for 80 pesos. Queues were forming when we arrived at 745 but once the gates opened it felt like we had the ruins to ourselves. Entrance fee was around 480 pesos per person - they take cards and pesos. Note you need to wear a mask to enter the site although no one kept their masks on once inside.
We didn’t take a guide but instead used a combination of the helpful displays and the internet to do a self guided tour. We enjoyed the freedom of being able to explore at our own pace. There are also plenty of traders but we found them to be fun and friendly and no hassle. The ruins are spectacular and worth a visit. We spent around 90 mins on site. #chichenitza #mexico #historicplace #ancient #history
; Daytrip at Sungai Melaka, Malacca.
🛶 Malacca River (Malay: Sungai Melaka) which flows through the middle of Malacca City in Malacca was a vital trade route during the heyday of Malacca Sultanate in the 15th century. The river starts from the foothills in the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan and feeds into the Strait of Malacca. This river has its own historical value because on the left and right of this river are municipalities, settlements, cemeteries, businesses, shipping, ports and others since hundreds of years ago. Here also have Malacca River Cruise that provided 45 minute river tour boat ride. Operating time is from 9am till 11.30pm daily. The ticket price is RM25 for adults and RM15 for kids.

Not Your Typical Ancient Town in China!
NeYin Ancient Town (讷殷古城 nèyīn gǔchéng) is just so different than all the other ancient towns I’ve seen in China. The gate is decorated with bull’s skulls and the houses inside actually look modern (and it seems like you can book those houses to stay overnight!).
Upon entering the area, you’d be greeted by a line-up of important figures of the area. Many involved in the area-dispute with Pyongyang, and others are Manchurian VIPs or the indigenous people.
The Tree-God (that tall tree wrapped with red ribbons and God of Changbaishan (riding a tiger) are looking so mighty. The snowy path and are beautiful.
Definitely worth visiting during your stay at Changbaishan!
—————————
Getting There - take Taxi and ask them to wait for you (hard to call for other taxi from this place). We spent 1.5hrs there, roundtrip to Sheraton hotel (around 20mins ride one-way), paid ¥120.
Attractions - ancient town. Good for some walk and photo-taking.
Tickets - it was free when we visited.
Hotels - Closer from Wanda Ski Resort’s area hotels. It would take more than 2hours from North Slope (Crowne Plaza), or stay inside this ancient town!
Food & Restaurants - none that we saw. But also there was no other tourists when we visited. Not sure if it’s always the case or usually there would be food-service.
