Dinosaur Shopping Center is a great place to spend your Saturday night. Even if you don't go into the attractions like the Water Town or the Amusement Park. The shopping center has alot of stores like Sketchers, clothing stores and even vendors selling crafts and trinkets. The Sketchers store had alot more options than the one at Global Harbor. You can enjoy a meal at KFC, Pizza Hut, Dico's and even McDonalds.
It's a very nice Shopping Center.

Buddhist Temple in Changzhou

I've been seeing this temple from my apartment for the past 2 years, and today I finally decided to visit it. Located in Wujin, Changzhou, this temple is about 15 minutes from the closest subway stop (Yanzheng Dadao).
I went early in the morning when they were having prayers, which was around 9 a.m., and it sounded so serene.

Tianning Temple in Changzhou
Changzhou is a city in Jiangsu province and besides the dinosaur park, most tourists will visit Tianning Temple and it's pagoda. The temple is quite big, you could spend about 2 hours if you wanted to make the most of it.
The pagoda itself is incredibly big - you can take an elevator to the higher floors and the stairs are available for the lower floors. The monks were friendly and there was a range of temple buildings and a garden to walk around, the temple also includes a vegetarian restaurant.
🎟️ Entrance is 20RMB, some features require an extra Ticket.
📍From the train station, you can take a taxi or public bus.

Once formerly known as Dane’s Island in English, it offers a wonderful place to unwind and relax whilst exploring some rich history of China. It’s famous for it’s Military Academy and old village.
🌴It’s easy to wonder around this place by foot, or by bike and has many places to take a visit.
⛴To get there from the CBD, it’s a short 10 minute ferry ride. (If you really, want you can take your car on the car ferry across the river). Look for the yellow duck when you’re arriving
The key attractions of Changzhou Island is the Military Academy - this is open to the public during open hours will small entrance fee. Unfortunately, I arrived too late so could not visit this time.
But I still had great fun wondering around the old village, seeing locals enjoying life.
Tips:
1. Make sure you take plenty of water as it can get very hot.
2. Some places allow you to go to the 2nd/3rd floor at a small cost. If you manage to find those places, take the chance it can be very interesting!
📍Changzhou Dao Island, Huangpu - Head to Yuzhu Metro Station and from there is easy to find Yuzhu Wharf.
💰Cost: Ferry cost was a few RMB - it uses the same QR code / Tap& Go code as the Metro/Bus so all very convenient.
🍔 You can find plenty of street vendors around the island who will sell all sorts of snacks like pancakes, drinks, tofu etc

Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Liyang - Changzhou
Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Nestled in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, where three provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui border with one another, is a bamboo forest called Nanshan Bamboo Sea, which is a national reserve. It occupies an area of 2,500 hectares.
The bamboo forest is largely unknown to tourists, as the region, a national economic center from 2,000 years ago, boasts too many places of historical interest developed a long time ago. The travel guides' omission of the bamboo forest makes it an ideal fairyland to escape to.
The reserve consists of several valleys and peaks, among which the 500-meter Wudi Peak is the highest in the delta region, covered with dense bamboo forest. The Wudi Peak is accessible through an 800-meter ropeway or a meandering mountain path. It takes about 12 minutes to reach the top of it by ropeway, and one-and-half hours on foot.

Pagoda of Tianning Temple - Changzhou
The Pagoda of Tianning Temple is a modern Chinese pagoda of Changzhou. Started in 2002 and completed in 2007, the Tianning Pagoda is claimed to be not only the world’s tallest Buddhist pagoda with 154m, but also the tallest wooden structure in the world.
One source says it’s 7.2 meters taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza. As each of the pagoda’s 13th floors has eight sides, and each corner has a bell, I listened as the coming storm rang 104 bells.

Changzhou Culture Plaza - With a total floor area of 365,000 square meters, the building is six times the size of the Louvre in Paris. Reflecting elements of Changzhou’s southern Chinese culture and the city’s prominent water features, their design includes a number of museums such as an arts museum, a science and technology museum and a library, together with service facilities supporting the center for culture in the Xinbei district of the city.
The building modules – which cantilever bridge-like in a large arc – consist of six 45 metre-high pavilions which vary significantly inside with their different architectural functions, but form a visual whole from the outside. The space between the art gallery to the east and the science and technology museum to the west forms the public plaza in the center of Changzhou.

Baolin Temple - Changzhou
Baolin Temple - This is a Buddhist religious attraction near the Wujin’s Martyr’s Memorial. Baolin is perhaps one of the biggest cultural treasures in a district that is currently seeing a lot of construction.
A legend about “Kwan-yin making the Gehu Lake bare-feeted” has been spreading in the Wujin District of Changzhou City, owing the formation of Gehu Lake to the philanthropy of Kwan-yin for helping the masses to solve the flood threats. The Kwan-yin Pavilion has been built to carry forward the great virtue of the Kwan-yin Buddha and people`s everlasting prayers for the peace and prosperity.
The Kwan-yin Pavilion is 91.9 meters high. The external walls of the pavilion use the Lotus Agora and backlight to form 108 shrines, enshrining 108 Buddhas according to the thirty-three images of Kwan-yin. This pavilion mainly enshrines a three-faced Kwan-yin Buddha sculpture of 39 meter high who gives direction and opens up the gate for relieving from torments and sufferings for her disciples with her wisdom and mercy.

Biji Alley or Comb Lane - Changzhou
Biji Alley or Comb Lane - is located in the north bank of the canal with 150m length and 4m width, which is in the west of the city.
The ancient Piling courier station had been established here since the fourteenth year of Emperor Zhengde's reign (1519) of the Ming Dynasty. The Comb Lane was originally called the "Flower Market Road". In ancient times, shops selling combs and bijis (biji is a kind of double- edged fine-toothed comb) were arranged in close rows, and most of the shops and workshops along the road were specialized in producing and selling combs.
Hence, there was a proverb saying "as the rouges in Yangzhou and the flowers in Suzhou, Changzhou is the No.1 in comb products". When the Emperor Qianlong visited here during his travelling in South, he changed the name "Flower Market Road" to "Comb Lane" when seeing the great variety of comb shops, which has still been in use today. The oldest "Old Bu Hengshun Comb Shop" in the lane was opened in the Emperor Tianqi's reign of the Ming Dynasty. Its combs won multiple awards at home and abroad, and have been highly praised by foreign friends in numerous large-scale exhibitions, thus becoming best-selling souvenirs in domestic and overseas markets.
The Palace Museum has still kept the Changzhou combs produced in the Qing Lane" Dynasty up to now.

Qingliang Temple - Changzhou
Qingliang Temple - It was built in the first year of Emperor Yingzong's Zhiping in the Northern Song Dynasty (1064). It was built by Hu Suqian, deputy clerk of Changzhou origin, and was first named as Enganci Temple.
It was severely damaged during the "Cultural Revolution". After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, religious policies were implemented, some units were moved out one after another, and the government allocated funds for repairs. In 1982, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province.
The temple affairs are presided over by Master Jichun, and there are 17 resident monks.

We visited Baolin temple. We didn't search a lot before this visit, so we were very surprised what we saw there. This is huge and amazing temple.
The main temple is surrounded by other smaller temples and inside are statues of the Buddha and his followers and enlighteners.
I recommend everyone who is near Changzhou or who is crossing through this city to visit this temple and feel the energy of this place. It's a place where you can come and enjoy in peace and be with yourself and your thoughts.

Pizza Pizza !
Domino's Pizza is in Changzhou. They have about two locations. The one I visited is in Wujin Wanda Plaza, right outside the Jihu Lu subway stop.It's beside the Starbucks to the right.I had the Hawaiian pizza, and it was delicious. I also tried the lava cake, which wasn't that good. The pizza options are a little different from the Western world, but you can still get the classics like Hawaiian and pepperoni.

I've eaten at other Dico's location, it was much better than this one.The fries were crispy and delicious, the chicken wrap was fresh and tasted good, if you like a sweet savory taste.
But, the chicken nuggets were not delicious. If you are looking for somewhere to have western food while at the park, you can grab a quick meal at this place.

Found this building while on my morning walk and it reminds me of the Capital building in Washington, DC.
Upon investigating it turned out to be a factory, but the design in still amazing.

Great place to have a picnic then play the games and eat food by various at the location.
