Tokyo Japan
Visiting Tokyo, Japan was an amazing and very impressive experience, the best ever. This trip was with the company, which organized a trip for the employees to travel for free, including free accommodation and meals for 4 nights and 5 days, with one day to explore freely. I had the chance to stroll around the accommodation area, and the Japanese people were very kind, always smiling and greeting, very friendly everyone. I like it here, and if I have the chance to travel abroad, I would choose Japan.
Are Enoshima & Fujisawa Worth a Visit? (Jan 2024)
As part of our itinerary for our Japan 2024 trip, we wanted to explore nearby cities to Tokyo and decided to visit Enoshima and Fujisawa. These places are not very far away from Tokyo and you could get there by buying the day pass.
The day pass is useful as it allows unlimited travel within the designated area. We arrived at Enoshima first to visit the Enoshima Aquarium. The aquarium itself is quite huge but some of the enclosures were closed due to renovation (what a pity). Nonetheless, it was still worth the visit. We also managed to spot Mt. Fuji from Enoshima Aquarium, which was an awesome opportunity thanks for the fabulous weather on that day!
We then headed to the nearby island (Enoshima Island) which was a walking distance from Enoshima Aquarium. The iconic structure on this island is the Enoshima Sea Candle. We had to climb steps to get to the viewpoint. There is also a small entrance fee to enter the sea candle park but we didn’t proceed as it was daytime when we visited. It’ll be prettier at night in our opinion.
We didn’t get to visit Fujisawa in the end but there are plenty of temples in Fujisawa for those who are interested in visiting. Enoshima alone could cover a full day programme so plan your trip wisely (: #enoshima2024 #japan2024
Experience Hakone from Okayama (Jan 2024)
For our trip to Hakone, we stayed at Okayama and bought the Hakone area pass which was valid for 3 days. This gave us unlimited travels within the designated area which helps to save some cost from accommodations in Hakone itself. However, we had to plan ahead and spare more time for our programme and itinerary in Hakone. We also visited Okayama castle just before returning back to Tokyo on our last day in Hakone-Okayama.
From Okayama, we travelled to Hakone via bus, train, and tram etc. We also managed to ride the iconic Hakone ship to take the cable car up to a viewpoint of Mt. Fuji. Hakone is also a very popular spot for viewing of Mt. Fuji, apart from Kawaguchiko. We spent a total of about 2 trips over 1.5 days to cover 80% of Hakone. We took the Romancecar from Shinjuku to Okayama and back using the same route.
Overall, our experience in Hakone was a memorable one even though we didn’t manage to see the skywalk and bridge as our travel period fell during the closure period of the sky bridge but we did get to go to Gotemba Premium Outlets where we had a close up view of Mt. Fuji (see images). #hakone2024 #japan2024
Why you should visit Nikko, Japan (Jan 2024)
We were thinking of visiting Japan again in Jan 2024 (for the fifth time now), and did our research extensively to also save some time and cost from transportation for our trip. We finally decided on visiting Nikko as one of first stop for our Jan 2024 Japan trip and we were so glad we did.
We booked the Nikko area pass which gave us 4 days of unlimited travel within the designated area. So we maximized the pass and explored Nikko. We visited the main attractions in Nikko (see images) and tried some of their local delicacies. Getting around Nikko wasn’t difficult too. The main point is to take note of bus timetables to plan your daily trip and you’ll be fine. Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Nikko and would recommend visiting it if you have never been there before! ##nikko2024 #japan2024
Snow Lantern Festival in Kyoto
#familytrips2024
We made so many great memories in Kyoto, Japan. We went to Kayabuki no Sato for the Snow Lantern Festival. This place so magnificent. For those who wish to go to Shirakawago but want somewhere near Kansai, can opt for this Miyama Village instead. Only 2hours from Kyoto City.
There were so many activities such as lantern making, dancing, and also fireworks. This place is rich in activities that allow visitors to experience traditional culture!

Yokohama Day Trip from Tokyo! (Jan 2024)
It was our second time in Tokyo and we wanted to do day trips to make our second experience unique. It turns out that traveling to Yokohama from Tokyo was much easier and doable than we thought.
We took the local train and paid the fares per trip instead of relying on any train pass. It was quite easy to navigate our way to Yokohama from Tokyo. Just note that the Tokyo metro pass does not cover railway tickets. We bought the metro pass for 48 hours for unlimited travel via metro. Then we had to buy separate railway tickets to go to and from Yokohama.
Yokohama reminded us of the typical city like Singapore with its Central Business District. But amidst the city, there are some nice parks which we visited for views of the Yokohama Bridge. We then walked to some of the more popular museums in Yokohama, like the Cup Noodles Museum while waiting for the theme park to open. Entrance fee wasn’t expensive and it was quite an interesting experience.
Yokohama Cosmo World is worth a visit too while you’re there. They do not charge you per entry so there is no obligation to take all the rides. The rides are all paid separately which is a great deal. We only took the rides that we wanted to try and also got a glimpse of Mt. Fuji from above, thanks to awesome weather on that day.
We also visited Yokohama Stadium and Chinatown before heading back to Tokyo. Overall, it was a very enjoyable day trip and one which you can consider when traveling to Tokyo, Japan. #yokohama2024 #japan2024
