Bison Farm in Pszczyna
Just a few hundred meters from the Old Town of Pszczyna, you can meet ... a bison. Such an opportunity is provided by visiting the Bison Farm, which was established in the historic park, in the part called "Zwierzyniec". Two farms with infrastructure were built on nearly 10 hectares, incl. feeders, a quarantine farm and feed stores. The animals can be viewed from the viewing platform.
In the farm you can learn about the habits of not only the bison, the largest mammal in Europe, but also other animals inhabiting the areas of southern Poland, i.e. mouflons, deer, roe deer, fallow deer and other residents of the facility, i.e. mallard duck, russet, barnacle, swan goose , swans and Indian peacocks. There is a museum and educational facility in the area of the farm, where it is possible to conduct nature activities. An educational path, boards presenting the forest as an ecosystem and exhibitions presenting fauna and flora lead through the facility.
Visiting the farm may be enriched with a film presenting the history of the bison in Pszczyna. The film introduces viewers to the history of bison in Pszczyna in an accessible and interesting way. Catering or lunch can be arranged in the restaurant next to the farm. It is also worth visiting the Tourist Information Office, which offers a wide range of publications and souvenirs related to the Pszczyna region.

Life-sized sculptures are scattered all across Bialowieza, each lovingly carved to honor the diverse inhabitants of this extraordinary haven. These sculptures are more than mere art; they are a captivating window into the astounding biodiversity that thrives within these ancient woods. 🪟
The park's arboreal wonders are no less impressive, boasting centuries-old trees that stretch to heights exceeding 50 meters. 🌳
By delving deeper into the wilderness you'll find yourself amidst the primeval Bialowieza Forest, an ethereal realm that has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Did you ever imagine that Bialowieza is one of the last, grand remnants of the immense primeval forest that once blanketed Europe?😲
Tips and Tricks⁉️
🤷♀️Bialystok - (Hajnowka) - Bialowieza
The biggest hub for getting to Bialowieza National Park is Bialystok. There you'll find some direct buses to Bialowieza. 🚌 In Bialystok go to "Dworzec Autobusowy" (Bus Station) right next to the train station and you'll find your ride there. In case you missed the last direct one you can get on the bus to Hajnowka and try your luck hitching a ride. 👍 (We did just that and it turned out to be easy and fast).
🌬️Weather can be somewhat unpredictable so taking umbrella allong on a clear blue sky day is not as crazy as you might think.🌦️☂️
👁️🗨️Bison Show Reserve (Rezerwat Pokazowy Żubrów), is a place where you can marvel at these magnificent creatures up close. While you're there, remember to respect their natural habitat by
maintaining a respectful distance.🦬👀
🗺️Even though "Google maps" does a solid job of navigation in Europe, when it comes to small hiking routs "Maps.me" takes a throne. A magnificent hiking loop trail that goes through local forest from Bialowieza to Bison Show Reserve and back is a beautiful 1.5 hour long walk. If you want to take it - you know where to find it.🥾
Enjoy!❤️💚💙
