Fort Canning Park 🍀🌿🌱
#2024wish
I had a lot of fun in Fort Canning Park! It's a super huge park and allocating a day is simply not enough to finish exploring the whole park! There are a few historical highlights here such as the 9-Pound Canons.
Dating back to the 19th century, the cannon was said to be fired thrice daily to announce the hour; it was also fired to warn about town fires or even as a salute. The South Battery sits next to the cannon, and this is where the main gun battery was mounted to defend Singapore.

Fort Canning Park for nature and history !
#2024wish
If you are a nature lover and super into Singapore's history, do check out Fort Canning Park! This spot is a perfect combination of both! In Fort Canning Park, visitors could spot a myriad of artefacts such as Battlebox Escape Shaft. This shaft is an escape shaft from the Fort Canning Bunker (now known as The Battlebox). During the war, this structure was camouflaged to hide it from the enemy.

A Heritage walk in Fort Canning Park !
#2024wish
Nestled between the bustling districts of Dhoby Ghaut, City Hall and Clarke Quay, the Fort Canning Park is truly one of the most popular places to visit in Singapore. There are myriad of historical artefacts such as Fort Gate. This singular block is what’s left of the fortress that once stood on Fort Canning Hill from 1861 to 1926. It protected Singapore from sea-based attacks and also served as a refuge for the European population that lived here at the time in times of trouble.

Fort Canning Park, a bastion of Singapore's colonial heritage, is also a great place to catch a glimpse into a time when ancient Malay kings ruled our land. Some highlights include the Maritime Corner @ Fort Canning which tells the story of Singapore's evolution from an entrepot trading post to an international maritime centre.

This is the legendary picture spot in Fort Canning Park. It is also a serene escape in the heart of the city. It is a long tunnel with greenery on the walls and a spiral staircase. I could always see a queue for picture taking especially in the morning or late afternoon as the light is good for photography.

📍Fort Canning Tree Tunnel
It is one of the best photos spots in Singapore and that too in the lap of nature.
Built with a spiral staircase on the edge of Fort Canning Park, when one looks up from the bottom of the staircase, they will be greeted by the sight of the trees and silhouettes against the staircase wall, which is a rare sight.
There will be a queue to take pictures so be
prepared for that.
And the best thing - it's free of cost to visit this place.

Spiral Staircase at Fort Canning Park
Although it is only a small hill, this park in the middle of the city close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT station has a long history. If you like history, you will definitely enjoy a vacation to this place. Taking nature-themed photos to the background of war relics is an activity that you can do. This place is also used as access to light sports such as jogging, cycling, and walk hill trails.
I suggest you to visit Fort Canning Park during the dry season/summer so your vacation time isn't disturbed by rain.

This is a really nice park to have some good time with family or loved one. The only thing to remember before visiting this place is this place has lot of stairs to climb on and the structure of the park includes downhill, uphill roads. This place is really beautiful and picturesque.
My nephew and I had the pleasure of visiting Fort Canning during our recent trip to Singapore and we were blown away by this incredible historical destination. We spent around 2 hours exploring the area, but it wasn't nearly enough time to fully appreciate everything Fort Canning has to offer. We will definitely be returning in the future!

The Raffles Garden At Fort Canning Park
Do you know that in Fort canning Park there is a park called the raffles garden which has been named after the founder of our current singapore Sir Stamdford Raffles.
The Raffles garden is located a short walk from Clarke Quay and situated right behind the old hill street police station. It's not as big as our world class botanical garden but it has the Raffles house and Fort canning lighthouse that you can visit during your trip here to the Raffles garden, with also many self explanatory signboards on the different trees and plants grown here and how these plants were being introduced to Singapore based on the history it has.

Sculptures in Fort Caning Park
#2024wish
Starting the trail in Fort Canning Garden, I saw a few notable sculptures. Turned out that The National Parks of Singapore website has actually published a walking trail to see the sculptures. It’s worth downloading the map for an hour or two walking through this great park while seeing some artwork, including the sculptural ensemble celebrating ASEAN.
