A Cozy tea house in town!
People love coffee shop nowadays. And coffee shop is so easy to be found. But for tea lovers, finding a nice place to take a sip of tea seems not so easy. Tong Tji Tea House is one of the best Tea House in Medan, Indonesia. Here you can find different types of Tea. Jasmine, Lychee, Classic, and so many others. Don't worry about the taste, believe me it's really really good. And not only tea, here you can also enjoy your meal. The main course like Fried Rice, Fried Noodle, Mie Goreng Jawa, Traditional fried tofu, and so many others. If you like spicy food, you'd love what they cook in here. But if you don't like spicy food, you can simply ask them to make the food less spicy, and the taste remains unchanged. For me as a tea lover, this place is a very very good place to find my favourite tea and find something to eat. The price is also good. Yu have to try it. Believe me, you are not going to be disappointed.

located in the city of pariaman, west sumatra, this is one of the beaches in the city of pariaman, has a very wide beach and the waves are not too big. don't forget to bring a ball if you go here because this beach is suitable for playing beach ball because it has a wide sand beach. the right time to go to this beach is in the afternoon because you can see the sunset very beautifully. in the area around the beach also sells a lot of typical food from the west sumatra area so you don't have to go far to find a place to eat or you can also buy fresh fish because many fishermen sell their catch there and cook it. hope it helps, happy vacation .#beach #padang #sumatra
Museum Perkebunan Indonesia, Medan
Museum Perkebunan Indonesia (Indonesia Plantation Museum) is one of beautiful museums in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. It shows everything about Plantation Industries in Indonesia, specially Medan the 3rd biggest city in this country. From the time when the Netherlands came and started their business here, to the present day where the industries has been modernized. We can still find hand prints of the former workers in the past, with full describtion. The machine they use to produce the products, the raw material, and others. What surprised me is there's somekind of prison/jail (i don't know if this is real) on the top of the building. The guide told us about it and we came up and see. Another surprise was this museum has its own coffee shop or like a small cafe. Super Cozy and totally worth it. #medan #museum #indonesia #northsumatra #sumatra #history #plantation

To be able to see wild Sumatran Orangutans you need to visit Gunung Leuser National Park in Bukit Lawang in North Sumatra. As this tropical rainforest in Bukit Lawang is a Sumatran National Park you need to have a guide for entering and pay an entrance fee. There are only two places in the world where you can see wild orangutans. Here in Sumatran Rainforest and in Borneo.
Do I need a guide for Sumatra Jungle trek?
Yes, you need a guide.
First, it would be really dangerous to go in alone and you would miss out on all the information and knowledge these guides have and will share them with you.
Secondly, by hiring a guide and paying National Park entrance fees, you are supporting more than one local family as well as the Indonesian government. And by supporting the Indonesian government you are helping to make sure nobody will destroy the Bukit Lawang rainforest and the home of Sumatran Orangutans in order to grow Palm tree plantations for palm oil. With over 1 000 000 ha Sumatrans rain forest is being home to many endangered animals like the Sumatran Tiger, Rhinoceros, Elephant, and Sumatran Orangutans.
When to go and see wild Orangutans?
We went at the end of February and the weather was alright!:) Usually it rained only in the night and it wasn´t too hot to hike all day long. But mainly it was off the main season, so we rarely saw other people trekking and it made our experience even more connected with nature.
How long does the jungle trek for?
That totally depends on you! You can do as short as a few hours or you can spend more than one week in the jungle!:)
Usually, people do 1 or 2 nights (2 -3 days) to be able to get a little deeper to the rainforest and see more of the wildlife.

Puncak Lawang is a hill around Lake Maninjau, a natural mountain tour that you can visit in West Sumatra. the scenery offered is very beautiful and like we are above the clouds. there are also many inns offered so you can enjoy the view of Maninjau lake at night and accompanied by the warm bonfire provided by the inn. i suggest you to bring thick clothes because the weather there is very cold especially at night. don't forget to check the health of your vehicle because the road to get there is a lot through climbs and turns so it is recommended to go there during the day so that the road there is safer. Happy vacation! #mountainview #sumatra #padang #lakeview

TOBA LAKE BEAUTIFULL
Lake Toba is a large natural lake in Indonesia located in the caldera of Mount Supervolcano. The lake is 100 kilometers (62 mi) long, 30 kilometers (19 mi) wide and 505 meters (1657 ft) deep. This lake is located in the center of northern Sumatra island with a surface elevation of about 900 meters (2953 ft).
The lake stretches from 2.88°N 98.52°E to 2.35°N 99.1°E. It is the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world.
Lake Toba is the site of a super-massive volcanic eruption of magnitude VEI 8 around 69,000 to 77,000 years ago. triggering global climate change. Current dating methods establish that 74,000 years ago is more accurate. This eruption was the largest explosive eruption on Earth in the last 25 million years.According to the Toba catastrophe theory, this eruption had a major impact on human populations worldwide; the impact of the eruption killed most of the humans alive at that time and is believed to have caused population decline in middle east Africa and India thus affecting the genetics of human populations around the world today.
Scientists agree that the Toba eruption triggered a volcanic winter that caused a drop in world temperatures between 3 to 5 °C (5.4 to 9.0 °F), and up to 15 °C (27 °F) in the upper latitudes. Follow-up research in Lake Malawi, Central Africa, found ash deposits from the Toba eruption, but found no evidence of major climate change in East Africa. On June 18 2018, the ferry sinking accident occurred in Lake Toba and drowned more than 190 people.
There is also a famous tourist spot, namely Rangat water tourism, precisely under the foot of Mount Pusuk Buhit, Rangat Water is warm water that comes from an erupting mountain and Pusuk Buhit itself is an active volcano which is very sacred by the Batak ethnicity so that various mystical stories exist. on this mountain. This mountain is located on Samosir Island, and is the highest peak of all the highlands on Samosir Island. With a height of about 1,077 meters from Lake Toba, this mountain looks standing proudly. So if you are around the waters of Lake Toba, then Mount Pusuk Buhit will look very clear with its green peak with a combination of gray and covered by clouds around it.
Then when we swim in the rangat water, we don't pay the entrance fee, just go in but after we finish bathing or finish swimming we are required to eat in the rangat water bath.

North Sumatra. what a wonderful place to travel. highlights were Tangkahan and Bukit Lawang.. we trekked in the jungle, saw Orangutans, long tailed macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, snakes, birds and my absolute favourite Elephants. spent time at the Crisis Response Unit washing and feeding Elephants and with the Sumatran Ranger Project team who help the local communities with animal/human conflict. And learnt a lot about the Palm Oil industry! Can highly recommend Raw Wildlife Encounters.
