A Pleasant Stay at the
Unexpected luxury! I could tell this was going to be a 5 star hotel given the pictures of the hotel exterior and interior on Trip.com, but the class level of this hotel kept pleasantly surprising me throughout the stay.
The lobby was rather grand, spacious with a piano, lobby lounge and drop off area. A little essence of European vibes. Welcome drinks provided as well.
The room was comfortably big, which is a luxury when staying in the capital. Had the interior design of modern day 5 star hotel rooms, balancing together with subtle classic European looks with the furniture, walls and toilet.
Breakfast was amazing. The kind where the spread is delectable and large. Vietnamese, western, sushi, pastries, desserts, fruits. Too many choices. First hotel I’ve seen with a system to deliver your live stations food to your table (eggs, pho, bahn mi).
The little things: A fresh rose in the room (I thought it was fake till I saw the staff with a trolley full of watered roses in the corridor). Quality amenities. Branded soaps. Quality toiletries (except shaver). Bath salts. Room amenities given in a paper bag when requested.
Definitely would stay here again if I’m coming back to Ho Chi Minh. #hochiminh #Saigon #Vietnam #Hotel
Thien Hau Temple: Must visit in HCMC
#hochiminhcity
Thien Hau Temple is a Chinese temple in Ho Chi Minh’s Chinatown. We scheduled this spot on our second day as this place is also far from the city center. We reached the temple via grab and arrived without much people in there. The gate is just along the road with the temple having a huge setback from the road. Reading from the websites, it was advised to dress modestly, thus lumping this place with other attractions that need modest dressing. The temple’s entrance isn’t that striking, it’s simple and typical Chinese architecture. When we got inside, the interior is much more intricate. The detailing and smell of incense would really make you mindful of the whole temple. We saw the famous incense rings and watched as others prayed and lit the incense rings with the temple staff helping them hang it onto the ceiling. We eventually tried it following what the previous people did and luckily the temple staff were able to converse with us on how to do it, and even encourage us to take photos while lighting the incense rings and pray. I can definitely recommend going here and try lighting up your own incense rings as this is a unique experience for a non-Buddhist like me.

📚 Ho Chi Minh's Book Street 📚
#hochiminhcity
One great thing about tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh is that they are close to each other. After visiting Saigon Post Office, the famous Book Street is only a walking distance away. The Book Street can easily be recognized due to the arc entrance. The street is lined up with shops selling books, stationery, and souvenirs. Coffee shops and cafes can also be found here if you’re needing a break from all the walking around. The street is pedestrian only thus allowing for tables and seating to be setup in the middle of the road. Even though the books here aren’t in English, I still definitely enjoyed looking through stationeries for souvenirs. I bought postcards and stickers to add to my collection. Also the street is worth visiting just for the atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. The street is also lined up with trees so it was not hot when we visited. I would definitely come back if I had a longer stay in the city.

Explore Ho Chi Minh City Less Than A Day?🇻🇳
If you in transit at Ho Chi Minh City and want to explore, you must try the most famous attraction here: Hop On Hop Off Bus. This attraction is the fastest ways to get the glimpse of saigon and it feels like flying trough the city.
I choose Sightseeing Bus Night Tour which is it cost USD5-6 per person. The Sightseeing Bus Night Tour will take you to see the highlights of saigon for around one hour at the bus.
You can choose to sit at the lower deck or upper deck, but my recommendations is you must try to sit at the upper deck, the view is more beautiful!🤩.
For the night tour bus, they operated from 5PM until 9PM. The bus departure every 30 minutes and passes many landmarks of saigon, such as: Saigon Opera House, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Nha Rong harbour, etc. Be on time if you choose the last bus.
Hop On Hop Off Bus Ho Chi Minh City now is operating and start the trip from across of Saigon Opera House, for redeem the ticket you can show etix to the staffs (they are wearing shirt and skirt with tie for woman staff).

Buu Long Pagoda, a side trip from HCMC
#wheretogo
About an hour drive away from Ho Chi Minh city, in the outskirt of the bustling city, you can find a serene and peaceful Buu Long Pagoda, inspired by Thai, Khmer, Indian and Vietnam style, it’s a charming piece of Architecture.
As there are less tourist on this place, you can relax and really take your time to explore and meditate on the temple grounds, there are surrounding halls and benches where you can sit to catch your breath.
as there’s no public transpo available on the area, you will need to take Grab or taxi to reach the temple.

Visit Ho Chi Minh for the Food!
Banh Mi Huynh Hoa is a famous banh mi shop. It was my first banh mi ever and it was good!! I liked that they separate the veggies when you order allowing me to customize it.
Café Apartments' The Letter Café - there were no other people so we were able to take all the photos that we want. The interiors were so pretty. The drinks were also good. It was also my first time trying Vietnamese coffee.
Second café we visited in Cafe Apartments was the Good Day Café. We were again lured by the entrance and pretty bohemian interior photos. Here we tried some unique drinks and a slice of cake.
A street food we found between book street and the post office is Banh Trang Nuong or grilled rice paper tacos. This was so good! Egg, pork, cheese, and some sauce as filling makes up this delicious street food.
Secret garden is a beautiful rooftop restaurant hidden in an alley, near some of the tourist spots. You have to climb a tiring amount of stairs as there’s no lift to reach the restaurant. The restaurant was packed! Everything that we ordered was good! The ambiance and décor was great. The lights gave off a whimsical feeling while dining. Would go back to this restaurant again!
We had pho in Ben Tanh Market after shopping for souvenirs. We just went to the first shop that we saw and we did not regret it. The pho tasted very good. We paired it with green mango shake.
The famous coconut coffee from Cong Caphe we tried near Tan Dinh Church was also one of my favorites. It’s a blended ice drink perfect for the hot weather outside.
We made a reservation for Blank Lounge in Landmark81. We bought cocktails to cap off our second day. The experience was thrilling as we were seated alfresco on the 75th level of the building!
Our last meal before going back to Singapore was in Saigon Center at Som Thai. Food was good. So far everything we ate in this trip were all tasty, no complaints.
Maison Marou is a must visit for chocolate lovers. We bought souvenirs from here and took a break for a bit.
Other food we tried that was not included here are: the breakfast and afternoon tea by the hotel, McDonalds, & Saigon Oi Café.
Featured in the photos are:
1-2. Coconut coffee from Cong Caphe
3-5. Secret Garden
6-7. Banh Mi Huynh Hoa
8-9. The Letter Café
10-11. Good Day Café

Paris of the Orient - Ho Chi Minh City
#wheretogo #hochiminhcity #saigon
One of the highlights of the year was visiting Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
Today, widely regarded as the financial heart of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and it’s most populous city, Ho Chi Minh City otherwise known as Saigon is well known for it’s historical landmarks and colonial architecture
Three of the must-see attractions are the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and the Cu Chi Tunnels.
The Notre Dame Cathedral, a stunning example of French colonial architecture, offers a glimpse into Vietnam's French colonial past, and its serene interior provides a peaceful contrast to the bustling city outside.
The Central Post Office, designed by the renowned architect Gustave Eiffel, is a marvel of Gothic and Renaissance styles that was built in the 1880’s. Take the time to appreciate it’s beautiful interior and perhaps send a postcard from this still functioning post office.
The Cu Chi Tunnels, a mere hour’s drive from Ho Chi Minh City, provide an immersive experience into Vietnam's wartime history. These underground networks served as a strategic base for the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Visitors can explore the 75 mile long tunnels, gaining insight into the guerrilla warfare tactics used during the conflict. There is also a shooting range that allows one to fire an M60 machine gun, widely used by American forces during the war, if one is so inclined.
Visiting these attractions is highly recommended and an opportunity to appreciate the historical, architectural, and cultural facets of Ho Chi Minh City.
Saigon-The pearl of the far east
My 1-day trip to Saigon was a fantastic experience, and one of the highlights was visiting the Saigon Post Office. The post office is a beautiful colonial building that showcases the city's rich history and architectural beauty.
Upon entering the post office, I was immediately struck by its grandeur and old-world charm. The interior is adorned with elegant French-inspired designs, from the high ceilings with ornate chandeliers to the intricate mosaic floor.
One of the main attractions of the Saigon Post Office is the stunning central hall, which houses numerous counters for sending and receiving mail. The atmosphere was bustling with activity as locals and tourists alike went about their postal needs. It was fascinating to witness the efficiency and organized operation of this historic post office.
I also had the opportunity to explore the many small shops within the post office, where I found a variety of unique souvenirs, stamps, and postcards to bring back home. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing me with recommendations and information about the post office's history.
Overall, my 1-day trip to Saigon and the Saigon Post Office was a delightful experience. I highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark for its architectural beauty, historical significance, and the chance to capture a glimpse of Saigon's vibrant atmosphere. Inggat! ❤️👋#Saigon #Vietnam #Southest Asia #Young #solotravel
A building filled with Cafes and Shops | HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM 🇻🇳 ☕️
#timetotravel
As the name suggests, Cafe Apartment is an apartment block that is filled with Cafes and shops in Ho Chi Minh City that overlooks the Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
I visited the Cafe Apartment twice, both times I visited the SaiGon Oi Cafe. I personally really like this cafe because it has a balcony, greenery decorations and extensive drinks selections. Everything my family and I ordered (the coconut coffee, smoothies and frappe) were great!!
There is also a shop known for its tote bags called “THE EYE”. Each tote bags are for 250,000 dong (~ 83 HKD) and the prints are quite funny and interesting.
Do note that there is a fee of 3000 dong (~1 HKD) you have to pay if you wish to take the elevator up to the cafe/ shop of your desired choice.

Cracking the Code of Vietnam's Egg Coffee
Venturing into Egg Coffee Culture: When I set foot in Saigon, Vietnam, I couldn't resist the allure of the famed Egg Coffee. Countless locals and fellow travelers spoke highly of it, so I decided to embrace the adventure and give it a shot. However I ordered the cold version, many commented the hot one is better.
Hidden Gem Discovery: My journey led me to the charming 3T Egg Coffee in Saigon. Tucked away in the vibrant streets, it beckoned me with its promise of a unique coffee experience.
From Espresso to Egg: As a die-hard espresso enthusiast, I admit I was skeptical. Could Egg Coffee truly stand up to the bold flavors I craved? My first sip answered that question—it was distinctively creamy and surprisingly sweet.
A New Definition of Sweet: Egg Coffee was an unexpected revelation. With its custardy texture and sugary profile, it offered a refreshing departure from my usual coffee routine. It's a treat that takes your taste buds on a delightful detour.
Protein-Packed Perk: What caught my attention was the hidden protein power of Egg Coffee. As a coffee lover, I found it intriguing that this concoction offered not only a unique flavor but also an unexpected nutritional boost.
Tips for First-Timers: For fellow coffee aficionados making their first foray into the world of Egg Coffee, here are a few tips: First, embrace the sweetness—it's part of the charm. Second, appreciate it for its distinctive texture, which sets it apart from traditional espresso. Lastly, don't miss the chance to savor a cup at a local spot like 3T Egg Coffee.

Vietnam | Saigon Central Post Office
Saigon Central Post Office is one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh built around 1886 to 1891 by a famous french architect named Alfred Foulhoux. It is located in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral.
I was amazed by its architectural designs when I first laid my eyes on the building. It felt different to actually see it in person rather than watching on youtube. Today, this spectacular post office attracts a large number of both domestic and foreign visitors wanting to see its beauty.
Well, I just think this is a place worth a visit 🫶 A must see when you are in Ho Chi Minh.

Street Food Market In Saigon
Street Food Market in District 1, Saigon. Plenty of choices to eat in this market. It has a retractable roof if you need fresh air or need cover from the rain. Thai, typical Vietnamese local food, Greek, Mexican and drinks to choose from. Mostly foreigners at the market so that should give you some type of price range. If you want more authentic prices and food, you should skip this.

Saigon, between her river and skyscrapers...
Ho Chi Minh City's grand Saigon River is a river located in southern Vietnam that rises near Phum Daung in southeastern Cambodia, flows south and south-southeast for about 225 kilometres and empties into the Soai Rap, which in its turn empties into the South China Sea some 20 kilometres northeast of the Mekong Delta.
Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Vietnam, the second tallest building in Southeast Asia, and the 18th tallest building in the world.
Meanwhile Bitexco Financial Tower with 68 floors above ground and three basements, the building has a height of 262.5 metres, making it the second tallest building in the city, fourth tallest in Vietnam, and the 412th tallest in the world.
Between the grand river and skyscrapers, it's indeed an odd but unique mixture. Making it a dream comes true for most avid photographers.

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM 🇻🇳
📍Ho Chi Minh City
What an amazing start to Vietnam! Although the beginning of our trip was a bit rocky, (a bit of anxiety getting used to the new country, currency, culture, etc), I absolutely loved Saigon.
Things that I loved:
1. The coffee here. Vietnam’s coffee is unbelievable. I will miss Vietnam coffee more than anything. And so many different types, so far I’ve seen; egg, cheese, and coconut coffee & I intend to try every single coffee out there.
2. Everything being close together- the independence palace, the cathedral, Saigon central post office, book street, the café apartments & a huge shopping mall - all right next to eachother! Brilliant!
3. There’s so many restaurants, so many thrift stores and just so much to do. You could definitely stay here a week. We stayed for 4 nights & definitely didn’t see it all.
