The Elephant Museum
Bangkok has everything you need, but sometimes it’s fun to venture out for a bit. The, “elephant museum” is the perfect detour.
The museum is well-known and recognized for the giant, three headed elephant statue coming out of the top of the temple. In fact, it’s the largest hand carved statue in the world
Erawan Museum is decked out in intricately carved staircases and wall fixtures. Inside and outside, it boasts gorgeous shades of pastel and fluorescent pinks. Crazy to believe this place was practically handmade.
Getting There - Taxi/grab is the best way, but you can also get there by taking the BTS to Pu Chao Station.
Attractions - Erawan Museum and the Ancient City

8 things You must Do & See in Khao Yai
Khao Yao located around 190km from Bangkok city, it takes around 3 hrs drive to reach there. There are many places to visit and to see. If you have a limited time, here are some places you must visit and see.
1.Khao Yai National Park, The first national park in Thailand and the third-largest national park in Thailand. It is super big national park, green grassland and lushes forest is a common seen in this park, with lots of wild animals you can see roaming around. Visiting the waterfalls and resting at the viewpoints to enjoy the stunning view of the national park are the best things to do.
2.Lunch or Tea time at Thames Valley. Experience life in English countryside, not just the food, but the decor, and everything is in English style, including the maze garden.
3.Primo Piaza. No need to fly to Italy to get this experience, come to Khao Yai to get it. The building architecture, cafes, restaurants, shops and decor made you feel like you were in remote village in Italy. You can feed the sheep, alpaca and donkeys here
4.The Bloom. Dont miss this beautiful flower park, you will be amazed with how many flowers there are. Super beautiful and stunning, the perfect place for your Instagram feed.
5.PB Valley Khao Yai Winery. Get the wine and drink the wine here, you will amaze with this winery. Don't underestimate that Thailand cant produce the wine!
6.Palio Village. Another Italian village in Khai Yao. You will be impressed with the shop and restaurant design and the beautiful garden, and I feel like in a rural village in Italy.
7. Chocolate factory. It is a heaven for chocolate lovers. You can enjoy the variety and deliciousness of chocolate cake, ice cream, drink and cookies!
8.Dinner at MidWinter Green. Dinner here before you leave Khao Yai. Experience the European refined dining style here, from the menu to the building architecture. Super impressive! The decor is a mix of German and French styles. Sitting here is like a dream in Europe. Indoor and outdoor dining seating.
How to get here: by public minivan, it takes 4 hours cost you around 300 bath, or take bus from Mo Chit station in Bangkok to Pak Chong, the main city in Khao Yai. There are no public transport or taxi in Khao Yai, and the places are far away from each other, the best is to hire a car.

Paradise @Awa Koh Chang
a week at this resort in Koh Chang I have to say that it is one of the best resort I ever experienced. Awah koh Chang is just perfect for me after my 3 years studying to ceebrate the graduation and relax. There are so many things to do like riding a motorbike to explore the island , spa next to the seaside or elephant camps or exploring the waterfalls. Absolutely stunning and super recommend you guys if you want something else from Phuket or Pattaya. Koh chang is situated in the eastern part close to Cambodia! Such a hidden gem !

Coming to the end of the trip here with the stories I always have to think back to this amazing time in Thailand. You know that we´ve seen a lot of beautiful landscapes, ate good food, went on adventures and met amazing people. But the things that come up to my mind afterwards at first are the small moments, that we experienced on this trip. It tells me that we have to enjoy every single moment in life more and more intense. Those things can be eating a coconut by the beach, simply to sit back and enjoy a view or good talks with the people you love. Truly a trip to remember!

I couldn’t get enough of those river structures to be honest. So I had to return. I got the advice from a fellow traveler, that there is another spot to capture those structures. So we rented a bike once again and hit the road. On that day we travelled over 130 km by bike, which was really really exhausting and dangerous sometimes to be honest. We not only came into a thunderstorm but also were attacked by an owl while biking. Can you imagine that? 🦉 I never thought of something like this could even happen haha! Nevertheless, it was amazing to see those structures again. A day to remember, again!

Getting up at 6 o’clock in the morning doesn’t really sound like holidays, but when the sun rises in all its wonderful warm colors, we knew it‘s definitely worth it. And on a small island like that we were sure that our day won’t be that stressful, there is plenty of time for a short nap. Eating pancakes and fresh fruits for breakfast, enjoying the beach with a good book and when it got too hot in the sun, we jumped into sea. And after these relaxing times of doing nothing we went to see the sunset every evening, sometimes drinking fresh coconut juice, with sand between our toes and on other days we sat on the same swing as we did it in the morning, watching the sun goes down. Sounds like heaven to me.

Maya bay already blew our minds. But let me tell you a secret! The lagoon just on the opposite of Maya Bay (behind the huge rocks) is much more beautiful and less known! The lagoon in the pictures is called Pileh Lagoon. To visit this amazing place you have to watch the tides, as you can’t enter it sometimes when it’s low tide. However, we had luck and as it was early in the morning still, we had this paradise for us alone! I’m save to say that this was one of the best moments in Thailand and in my life so far. The water was again emerald blue and we just couldn’t believe our eyes! 100% to recommend!

After having a blast at the Railay peninsula in Krabi it was time to head to our next stop. We chose Phi Phi Islands as our next destination, at it offered the best combination of nature, activities and also night life. After arriving from Krabi with the speed boat we already headed out the ocean by a private boat to catch the sunset. We can definitely recommend booking aprivate longtail boat tour as you can decide where the captain should go and when. You can just be very flexible. This sunset we spent near the island of Phi Phi Don on a secluded beach called Nui Beach, which can only be reached by boat. It was one of the best adventures ever!

As I told you in the previous post already, we headed to the beautiful Railay Beach peninsula in Krabi. The peninsula is known for its crazy looking limestones and turquoise beaches. The area is quite busy at daytime, but when you come to the beaches early in the morning you are as good as alone. That’s what we did. You can see how beautiful it looked there for sunrise. A moment we will never forget! Are you rather a sunrise or sunset type? :)

Before I show you what we´ve done in Phuket, I will show you my travel buddy Marlene, who is my girlfriend as well ☺️. Thailand was our first trip together and we really enjoyed Thailand as a destination. As I said we landed in Phuket and immediately went out to explore the city and see what this amazing city has to offer. We came across beautiful alleys, that reminded us of Portugal somehow. And indeed: the city has an architectural style that is called "Sino-Portuguese", which is European mixed with Chinese modern style. A wonderful city to just walk through and enjoy!

A Visit to the Death Bridge Railway
So here’s a little story,
Kanchanaburi is a sleepy, small town about 2 hours west of Bangkok. You can easily get there by bus or take the slow moving train for the more scenic route. Whatever you prefer.
This is called the Death Railway and one of the must-see spots in this town. The history of it is as horrific as it sounds.
Long story short, this railway was built by prisoners of war and slave laborers during WWII. It’s an ugly stain on history but still important to experience and learn about it by physically going there.
Of course tourists (like myself) can be seen taking pictures and admiring the views of the temple that’s next to it. However, I think it’s important to read up on the history to understand the significance of it.
Travel tip: Go here early and preferably during the off season. It gets really crowded, making it difficult to walk because of weaving in and out of the people, plus balancing on the train tracks 😅…
Getting There - walk or take a Grab
Attractions - A temple is located next to along with the city center
Hotels - Felix Resort being one of the top-rated places to stay
Food & Restaurants - Street food and restaurants on the river
Shopping - Souvenirs shops located nearby

The Marble Temple
Temples on temples is what you’ll find in the dazzling city of Bangkok. The thing that I have discovered while doing the touristy things is that each of them look unique.
Wat Benchambophit is known as “Marble Temple” because it was constructed from imported Italian marble. The thing that will catch your eye the most is the perfect symmetry and shape of the roof. It truly looks like a masterpiece.
If this temple wasn’t on your list, it 100% should be. This one isn’t as crowded as the more popular ones. Pay the 50฿ entrance fee and roam the grounds.
Getting There - Easy access via taxi or BTS/MRT
Food & Restaurants - Street food and snacks located on the temple grounds.

Finally, I’m coming to the end of our trip. We visited so many different places and back home, I’m sure everyone will ask us, what did you like the most of all things you have seen during your journey? There are so many favourites I have, and each place has his own kind of magic. But on this picture, you can see the place, which is definitely under the top 10 of my ranking. Railay beach is such an awesome spot, which should be on your bucket list for sure!

Winters in Austria can be pretty cold, so everybody was a little bit jealous when they heard about our trip to Thailand. But what can be better than changing dark and rainy days against sunshine and temperatures over 37 °C? We enjoyed every single hour of the hot weather in Asia and lived the beach life to the fullest, being the first one to swim in the morning is such an amazing feeling and being the last as well. Back home I’m already missing this so much, but I’m sure we will come back as soon as possible.

Our last destination before going back home was Khao Lak. Actually Khao Lak is a mountain on the west coast of Thailand near the Andaman sea. However, the holiday region of the same name, which is located opposite it on the coast, about 60 kilometers north of Phuket, is better known. There you can find beautiful beaches and a lot of coconut trees. As there are so many different beaches, we decided to rent a scooter to see all of them (or almost). Best way to end our holidays.

The best thing when traveling is to gather new experiences. But not only that. When I travel I really want to get into the culture and learn new things and see things from new perspectives. This can be done best when you talk to the people from that specific country. When I first came to Thailand I immediately saw that the people there are just amazingly friendly! Although I can’t understand the words they say most of the time. They just smile whenever you come across them. And so it was here: I came to this boatmen and he was just laughing all the time and was extremely friendly. He loved being photographed and smiled to me. We couldn’t really talk as he didn’t speak English, but he showed me how to fix the boat and showed me his area and all the boats. Moments like these are the most important when being on a trip! :)

Getting up at 6 o’clock in the morning was already our daily ritual so to say. My girlfriend wasn’t really a fan of getting up early, but seeing places without tourists and enjoy calm and colorful moments convinced her to do that daily now :) We chose Phang-Nga as our next destination as we really wanted to see those amazing rivers and mangrove forests. Seeing this from a bird perspective is even more beautiful! Can you spot the snake 🐍 here? And have you ever seen a place which is more beautiful than this? I think I barely did! This place totally blew my mind from the beginning on! Definitely have to come back soon! A place to remember.

After some relaxing days at this small island called Koh Ngai it was time to head back to the mainland of Krabi. We decided to head further north as we wanted to explore more of those less-known places Thailand has to offer. Our decision was to head to the city called Phang-Nga, which is about 1,5h away from Phuket town. As Thailand´s Infrastructure is quite good in touristic places but not really amazing in non-touristic places, we were on our own in terms of getting from one location to another. The best and cheapest decision is simply to rent a motor bike, where you can go wherever you want on your own :) You have to be careful though and alway were a helmet. We really enjoyed exploring the lesser known parts of this city with the bike. The impressions of this place will follow in the next posts.

What I can’t hide from you is the bird view of this place as well. As I started the drone I couldn’t believe my eyes, again. Those rugged cliffs coming hundreds of meters right out of the ocean and these blue beaches in the middle - we are in heaven! For you for info: the beach on the top of the picture is Maya bay and the second lagoon a little bit lower in the picture is the Pileh Lagoon. Who of you would love to spend some time on those beautiful islands as well?

Being quite sick from all those boat rides already we decided to head out again with a private boat tour the morning after. This time our destination was a very famous one: Maya Bay which is well known from the film called „the beach“ with Leonardo di Cabrio. As the beach itself was closed unfortunately, we remained in the bay in front of the beach to do some snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and arriving early in the morning gave us the chance to enjoy this scenery alone without masses of tourists. Traveling to Thailand can be busy sometimes, but when you do it right you can enjoy nature alone as well. It’s just a matter of planning :) Hope you enjoy the impressions so far!

I hope that you aren’t bored already of the paradise called Railay Beach. Me and my gf were not :) As we loved this place so much, we decided to stay there for 3 nights in total. Beside swimming in the emerald green ocean, we explored the whole peninsula by foot and were just so surprised by the beauty around every corner. These pictures where taken near a limestone cave, which Railay is also famous for. The huge limestones coming out of the ocean totally blew our minds! Views for days 😍

Have you seen my two latest posts from Railay Beach? I had to show you the bird perspective of this beautiful beach! It looks completely different, doesn’t it? That’s what I love most about drone shots - you can get a completely different angle of subjects and it’s just like a different world somehow. I have to admit I was a bit scared at first because of the strong winds there but what can I say: I loved to see this paradise called Railay Beach from above! Must be amazing to be a bird here 🐦

After some days in Phuket it was time for us to explore what the south of Thailand had to offer in terms of nature as well. We decided to head further south for the first stop of our trip and ended up in the district called Krabi. Krabi is a wonderful place with beautiful beaches and it’s the perfect point to explore the islands small Islands around Phuket. After a 2h taxi ride we finally made it to Krabi from Phuket and immediately headed to a beach called Railay Beach, which is a beautiful peninsula in Krabi and can only reached by boat. This is how we where welcomed there! Simply magic!

Our first stop on our journey through wonderful Thailand was Phuket – a city of contrasts. Phuket has about 80.000 inhabitants and is one of the oldest cities in Thailand. In the following posts I will show you around the city and what we did there. It was very important for us to experience all what Thailand has to offer, so it shall be a good combination of culture, landscape, food and the cities. We chose Phuket as a first stop as we needed a break after long flights from Europe. It was the perfect place to start the trip!
