Sukiya Japanese Restaurant
Address - B3-33 313 Orchard Rd. Singapore
Ambiance/Facilities - casual and comfy
Highlights - Gyudon
Avg. Price per Person - $4-$20
Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore. The price range of the food items are very affordable and quantity is quite good.
Food is superb! The beef is well marinated and tastes really good and it’s also soft. Their Miso soup is great but I’d prefer the kangkong when I order set meal.
They also offer different sizes for the gyudon which is very good as some people like me are very good eater!🤪
Definitely a must try! #donnaheats #japanesefood #asiancuisine #foodtrip
My weekend trip in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Last weekend i had a chance to visit Bandar Seri Begawan. The capital of Brunei.
I have been to Gadong Night Market. It is not a big market when compared with Thailand's night market. But i really feel that i enjoyed walking here.A lot of traditional Malays foods. It is much different from Thailand.
I had a chance to see Brunei nightlife.it was quiet. But i found Brunei is a very safe country for women.
Recommendation for women solo travellers.

Delicious local cuisine
When my husband and I had lunch here recently, we were quite pleasantly surprised that the food here was really pretty impressive. It was quite reasonably priced for a restaurant in this neighbourhood. Ambience was nice too, we chose to sit indoors in the air-conditioning as it was a warm day. Highly recommend getting the flavourful Hokkien mee.

Ya Kun local coffee
Address - Ya Kun Kaya Toast Coffee Shop, Clarke Quay Central Shopping Centre, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street, #01-31, Singapore 059817
Craving for a taste of something authentically Singaporean? Ya Kun serves local delights that are reminiscent of the type of fare our forefathers used to have back in the day. The classic pairing of coffee, or kopi, and runny soft-boiled eggs is totally comfort food. I also recommend ordering the signature kaya toast, a sweet paste filling paired with butter in crispy toasted bread. Delicious!

Local delights at MBS
Rasapura Masters food court can be found at the basement of the shops at Marina Bay Sands. Although it is a huge space, it is always crowded during meal times as it is quite a popular place to try out local delights like satay, fried chicken wings, fishball noodles and many more. Prices are elevated here but that’s to be expected at a location like this.

Authentic Hong Kong dishes
Address - Legendary Hong Kong Restaurant, Funan Shopping Centre, 107 North Bridge Road, B1-28, Singapore 179105
Legendary Hong Kong Restaurant is a “cha chaan teng” concept where they serve well-loved dishes like egg noodles, honey French toast and milk tea. I really like the texture of their noodles, it tastes soft yet retains the firmness of its shape, fantastic!
Do note that the dry chilli version of the noodles can be a bit spicy if you’re not used to chilli. Otherwise to be safe, you can opt for the soup version like I did, though the soup itself wasn’t amazing.

HOME EDITION MAKES YOU FEEL AT HOME
This restaurant was so welcoming because the lights are soft, they had calming music playing and the staff was so friendly and warm. The tables were properly set far apart to give everyone ample space but near enough to feel close and homey.

Get a local coffee fix
This cafe has a really nice sit-down ambience as it looks very bright and open in the design. I do recommend eating in instead of taking away to enjoy the atmosphere here. On top of their authentic Singaporean coffee, they also sell local favourites like beehoon, laksa and nasi lemak dishes. Pretty decent variety.

Best HK egg noodles
A very popular Hong Kong noodle shop that usually has quite a long queue. We got to try the soup and dry versions of the egg noodles, both of which were yummy. I also highly recommend the French toast, it was delicious! If you order milk tea, you can add your own quantity of sugar.

Local hawker delights in MBS
Address - Rasapura Masters Food Court, Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Avenue, B2-49A/50-53, Singapore 018956
Situated in the basement of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Rasapura Masters is a huge food court that wraps around the atrium with the chandelier. With a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, you will definitely spend a bit of time just looking through the options.
I highly recommend the fried chicken wings even though the queue and waiting time for it can be quite long. Some dishes from the other stalls were a miss, like the noodles from the mixed rice stall. It can get quite crowded during meal times to the point where you even have to wait for tables so avoid those time slots if you can!

Sizzling hotplate lunch

Pepper Lunch has been a well-known brand in the Singapore market for quite a long time and specializes in serving food on a hot plate where you will have to “cook” it yourself. There are different types of meat like beef, chicken and salmon, as well as options for rice, pasta, or just steak with sides.
It has a whole range from the affordable to the premium stuff, so it’s suitable for most types of budgets. Best of all, the food is well-flavoured and delicious.

Situated right at the junction between the bus interchange and the entrance to Ang Mo Kio Hub shopping centre, Old Chang Kee is one of my go-to places to grab a quick local snack delight when I’m on the move. They sell bites like fishballs on a stick, curry puffs, sausages and more.
The food never fails to satisfy and is almost like comfort food for us Singaporeans. It is also not too pricey so you can buy multiple items to try too!

First time at Big Ball!
Big ball is a place that serve asian cuisine, drinks and dessert to fill the hungry tummy my fellow friends. Big Ball is name after their signature grass jelly dessert which contains taro balls, grass jelly and red beans. They also have pasta, topokki and ramyeon. Big Ball is located in Kelantan and has 2 outlets, one in Kota Bharu and another one in Tanah Merah. I went to their Tanah Merah outlet. Here at big ball, I ordered :
1. Korean spicy chicken with cheese RM12.80 (7/10)
2. Kyushu chicken ramen RM13.90 (8/10)
3. Japanese matcha RM10.50 (8/10)
I would come here again to try other food such as fried chicken ramyeon noodle (RM15.50) and yangnyeom chicken rice bowl (RM13.80)

Box Space Ratchayothin Market
Address - Box Space Ratchayothin Night Market, 15/1 Ratchadaphisek Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
Located about a 20-minute drive away from the main city centre of Bangkok (assuming you are not stuck in the jam during peak hour), Box Space Ratchayothin Night Market has many seafood dining options to choose from. The most famous one is this restaurant, which didn’t have an English name I could find. It was super crowded when we visited. Given that it’s open-air, it can get quite warm and stuffy especially if you’re seated in the middle. Come early to avoid disappointment, otherwise you may have to eat at other less popular restaurants.

Local hawker delicacies
Address - Kim San Leng Hawker Centre, 511 Bishan Street 13, #01-522, Singapore 570511
Kim San Leng Hawker Centre just underwent a recent renovation to sport a cleaner, fresher look. With a wide variety of local food options that taste really great, it’s one of the best places to grab a bite. Plus points for being affordable too! Only drawback is that if the weather is hot, it can be quite uncomfortable to sit in the open air space.

Batam local delights
Address - A2 Food Court, Jalan Bunga Mawar, Batu Selicin, Kec. Lubuk Baja, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau 29444, Indonesia
What a joy to have found this gem of a place to dine at! They have all sorts of local heritage cuisine and some international ones as well, a great variety to choose from.
It is free seating and best enjoyed if you have a group of friends share many dishes with, so that you can try out all they have to offer. Prices are also very affordable, which explains the crowds we saw on the weekend.
I highly recommend the goreng pisang, or fried bananas, with chocolate sauce. That was absolutely indulgent! The only gripe is that the place isn’t air-conditioned so it can get quite stuffy on a humid day.

Buffet 101
Buffet 101 is one of the most popular eat-all-you-can in Cebu. It is located at City Time Square, Mandaue City, Cebu.
The place is luxurious with high ceiling and is quite big, could fit upto 500 customers at a time. Favorable for huge groups. They also have areas where you can have a semi-exclusive venue.
Aside from being popular, it is also one of the largest buffet table. It serves wide arrays of international cuisine which includes Mediterranean, Western, and Asian. My personal favorite is their Japanese cuisine section, where a number of people are lining up too. They have a number of maki and sushi flavors to choose from.

TamJai SamGor Mixian Restaurant just recently opened its doors here at Junction 8 Shopping Centre to bring their iconic taste of Hong Kong to Singapore! They specialize in mala and rice noodles, with customers being able to customise their spiciness levels and preferred ingredients in the broth.
I went for the lowest level of spice given that I’m not one to be able to tolerate spice, while my husband went for the mild spice level, one level higher than mine. Wow, I couldn’t even take the lowest level! The soup is flavourful though, next time I’ll ask for no spice at all.
