🇵🇭 Hidden Gems in Siquijor Islands✨✨
#hiddengems
Embarking on a day trip across the mystical island of Siquijor, I found the hidden gems on the islands that is less well known than its neighbour island-Bohol.
🏍️ How to Go?
We rented a scooter for 250 peso for whole day. It is around 30mins ride from San Juan, where most tourists stay. Navigating the island's lush landscapes on a rented motorbike added an exhilarating sense of freedom and adventure to the journey, allowing for an intimate exploration of Siquijor's scenic beauty at my own pace.
💎Cambugahay Falls: A Leap of Adventure
📍(4JQG+XM3, Siquijor Circumferential Road, Lazi, Siquijor, Philippines)
💰 Entrance fee: 20 peso, Tarzan swing: 50 peso
My first stop was the mesmerizing Cambugahay Falls, a cascading three-tiered waterfall nestled in the heart of Siquijor. What sets Cambugahay apart is not just its breathtaking beauty, but the thrilling Tarzan swing activity that beckons the bold. With ropes hanging from sturdy branches above the clear, inviting pools, I couldn't resist the call to leap. 🫣🫣Swinging out over the water and releasing into a refreshing plunge was a liberating experience, perfectly capturing the essence of adventure that Cambugahay Falls offers. It is such an unforgettable moment!
💎Salagdoong Beach: Crystal Clarity and Serene Sands
📍Maria, Siquijor, Philippines
💰No entrance fee
Known for its crystal-clear waters and white sandy shores, Salagdoong is a haven for those seeking tranquility or a vibrant underwater adventure. 🤿 The clarity of the water makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling, revealing a colorful world of coral reefs and marine life just beneath the surface. The beach is also famous for its high diving platforms, offering another adrenaline rush for the daring. ⚡️However, it was the peaceful moments of simply floating in the crystal-clear sea that truly captured the essence of Salagdoong's beauty, making it a perfect counterpoint to the morning's excitement. 🌊🌊
⭐️⭐️Final Thoughts⭐️⭐️
Riding through the island, with the wind as my companion, I was reminded that the journey is just as significant as the destination. Siquijor is not just an island to be visited but an adventure to be lived.😍I’ll definitely revisit this small lovely island full of surprise again!

Curves of Majesty: Malico's Vista
At Malico ViewPoint, where mountains rise high,
Twixt San Nicolas and Santa Fe, the sky.
Curving roads wind, like ribbons in flight,
A vista of wonder, pure delight.
In NV's embrace, nature's grandeur unfolds,
A symphony of greens, where beauty beholds.
Valleys and peaks, in harmonious breeze blend,
At Malico's bosom, serenity's trend.
Amidst the curves, a viewpoint appears,
Where travelers pause, to shed their fears.
Breathing in the majesty, feeling so free,
Malico's allure and grandeur, for all to see.
Between the boundaries, where two worlds meet,
Malico ViewPoint, a scenic retreat.
In the heart of nature, where wonders abound,
A journey of awe, forever profound.

Magellan's Cross & Santo Niño Basilica (Cebu)
#2023travelwish
This is a well-known tourist destination in Cebu City, Philippines.
The Basilica Minor del Santo Niño de Cebu, often known as Santo Niño Basilica, was established in Cebu City, Philippines, in 1565. The Magellan's Cross Pavilion is located next to the Basilica del Santo. There is a Christian cross that was allegedly set by Spanish explorers from Ferdinand Magellan's expedition after they reached Cebu in the Philippines. But in order to exactly appreciate the magnificent of the basilica, you have to go inside.
In Cebu, you must see this historic site!!
✉️ I wish to go to 📌Brazil, participate in Rio Carnival 💃🕺 the most famous festival and biggest carnival in the world 🌎 in 2023. ❤️🫶

Antique Church
San Agustin Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte is one famous tourist destination in far North part of the Philippines. This is one of the oldest church in country's history. Trivia: Completed in 1710, the church is famous for its distinct architecture highlighted by the enormous buttresses on the sides and back of the building. It is declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the Philippine government in 1973 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the collective group of Baroque Churches of the Philippines in 1993. Its walls are made of large coral stones on the lower part and bricks at the upper levels. The mortar used in the church includes sand and lime with sugarcane juice boiled with mango leaves, leather and rice straw. Its walls suggests Javanese architectural styles.
Another trivia: Adjacent to the facade is a three-storey coral bell tower constructed separately from the church building on the right side resembling a pagoda. It was in 1793 when the cornerstone of the bell tower was laid. It stands at some distance from the church as a protection against earthquake. It served as observational post for Filipino revolutionaries against the Spaniards in 1898 and by Filipino guerrillas against Japanese soldiers during World War II. According to historians, the bell tower also served as a status symbol for the locals. It is said that the bell would ring more loudly and more times during the wedding of a prominent clan that it would during the wedding of the poor.

Rice Terraces
Banaue rice terraces is the "8th Wonder of the World" found in Ifugao, Philippines. This was carved into the mountains by the ancestors of the indigenous filipino people and was thought it is already more than 2000 year old. This is famous tourist spot or destination but it requires you for road trip going here. From manila it will take you 8-10 hours to reach this place, no tram, no taxi, but by private car or commute by bus. This is free entrance coz you just view it on the road. Reminder, too hot here, bring your share and cap or hat, plus dont forget to take selfie with the local there and give some tip for them to buy some foods or drinks. Many souvenir handcraft stores are also nearby.

Cape Engaño Lighthouse
Road trip (12 hours trip by car from manila) plus sea trip(20mins boat ride) plus hiking (30-45mins) equals reaching the Cape Engaño Lighthouse, a historic lighthouse located at the Palaui Island in the town of Santa Ana, the province of Cagayan, Philippines, and it is located at the northernmost part of Luzon Island and situated atop the summit of a hill, 92 meters above sea level, the lighthouse provides a 360-degree view of Babuyan Island and the Dos Hermanas Island on the North, Pacific Ocean on the West and Engaño cove on the East. No wonder this area is famous more when they held here the Survivor show, it requires high stamina, and fear of sea waves, just to go to this place but worth the travel. It maybe a local tourist spot to many, but this is one of my memorable trip. Trivia: This lighthouse was built during the Spanish Colonial Era and first lit on December 30, 1892.

Malacañang of the North
Antique house?? This was the resident of former President Ferdinand Marcos during his reign, it was found in Paoay Ilocos Norte, which now converted into historic Museum and now famously known as Malacañang of the North. During our road trip in Ilocos region, 8-10 hours drive from Manila, we drop by and see this beautiful house. Almost all the appliances were preserved, most of the wood and textiles are made of Narra, the national tree of the Philippines and the windows are really the old style. It is a two-story mansion overlooking the Paoay Lake, and consists of seven (supposedly a lucky number for Marcos) rooms, with each room having a theme of historical events from the Marcos era: Study, Agriculture, Diplomacy, OFW (overseas Filipino workers), Culture, Nation Building and Family.

Bangui Wind Farm
Unbelievable!!! A farm of windmills??!🤩 Yeah its true, there is also a farm of windmills arranged in a single row stretching along a 9-kilometer😍 (5.6 mi) shoreline off Bangui Bay, Bangui Ilocos Norte, facing the West Philippine Sea. I cant count them all because it is hundreds for sure. Along sa national highway, there are already some, others are on top of the mountains, and most are along the seashore. You have really to stop over on this place, take some incredible photos and selfies. Since this is a local area, dont expect exclusive restaurant and shopping areas, but there are some small cafe nipa hut store, and there are local people along the road selling souvenirs lookalike of the windmill, buy some as appreaciation of theit hardwork handcrafts. Another reminder, you can also picnic along the seashore, just bring food as a requirement of a road trip, and of course a water or any drinks because there is no 24 hours stores along the road. Enjoy the view and safe drive!

Patapat Viaduct
The 4th longest bridge in Philippines is the Patapat Bridge or Patapat Viaduct, located at northernmost tip of Luzon Island and it is elevated 31 meters or 102 ft. above sea level. It looks like intestine or snake design??!🤔 All travellers or tourists that pass this area cant stop and take some pictures, besides from amazing long size, the view is really refreshing, the sea winds and refreshing looks. Trivia: this was opened 1986☺️, how old am i by then?😜
Tip when you have road trip here, travel time by private vehicle from manila takes 10 hours to get here, easiest way? Take a plane Manila airport to Laoag airport, then from Laoag rent a car a whole day trip to tour you around Ilocos Norte, along the road have so many beautiful places nearby, these are includes, Bagui windmill, White Rock formation at Burgos, the Viaduct bridge, then you can also have a look a lot of beautiful beaches like Hannah beach Resort. Then enjoy the road trip!😍🤩

White Rock Formation
Dropping by during our road trip in this place is really jaw dropping because of its perfect formation. This white rock formation is located in the coast of the town of Burgos, fronting the roaring waves of Bangui Bay, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation was formed thousands (or even millions) of years ago by accumulation of particles deposited to the shore by the forces of sea waves and wind, with the aid of gravity and time, and that's really amazing isn't it?😍🤩
Things to do here:
1. Horse back riding going to this rock because ot is not passable to any kinds of vehicles except by walking at least 10minutes under the heat of the sun(so bring cap or umbrella).
2. Picnicking- since this place is very far from the city, i suggest to bring foods during the road trip, and there, enjoy eating with a nice view.
3. Picture taking😍🤩
