Fantasy trip in Milan🇮🇹
Stepping into the Piazza del Duomo, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of Milan Cathedral, or the Duomo di Milano, as it towered above the square, an intricate masterpiece of Gothic architecture that has stood the test of time since its construction began in 1386. The spires, adorned with statues and carvings, seem to reach for the heavens, and at the highest point, the golden Madonnina glistens in the sun, a symbol of Milan's enduring spirit.
Approaching the cathedral, I marveled at the façade, which is a symphony of stone lacework, with over 3,400 statues and 135 spires creating a forest of marble figures that tell stories from the Bible, history, and mythology.
Upon entering, I was enveloped by a serene dimness, the light filtering through the vast stained glass windows casting a kaleidoscope of colors onto the stone floor. The sheer scale of the interior is awe-inspiring, with the nave stretching out seemingly endlessly, flanked by towering columns that support the high vaulted ceiling. Each column is a monolith of marble, intricately carved with figures and patterns, leading my eyes upward to the majestic height of the ceiling.
After exploring the main floor, I ascended to the rooftop terraces, a highlight of any visit to the Duomo. The climb was rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Milan. Walking among the spires and buttresses, I felt as if I was in a marble forest, each spire adorned with statues and carvings that seemed to come to life against the backdrop of the Milanese skyline. From here, the city sprawled out in all directions, with modern skyscrapers juxtaposed against historical buildings, illustrating Milan’s unique blend of old and new. As I descended, the late afternoon sun began to cast a golden hue over the Piazza del Duomo. The square was alive with people – tourists marveling at the cathedral, locals going about their day, and street performers adding a lively soundtrack to the scene. I took a moment to sit on the steps of the cathedral, soaking in the atmosphere and reflecting on the centuries of history that this magnificent structure has witnessed. Leaving the Duomo, I felt a profound sense of awe and reverence.
The Milan Cathedral is not just a church; it is a testament to human creativity, faith, and perseverance. It stands as a beacon of Milan’s rich cultural heritage and is a must-visit for anyone seeking to understand the soul of this vibrant city.

Lost in the centuries
In the heart of Milan, my journey through Duomo di Milano was a captivating blend of history, art, and breathtaking views. As I ascended the stairs to the terraces, the cityscape unfolded beneath me, a modern metropolis juxtaposed against the timeless beauty of the cathedral’s spires.
The sculptures adorning the exterior told tales of craftsmanship and dedication. Each intricately carved figure seemed to breathe life into the stone, whispering stories of the artisans who had left their mark over the centuries. It was a tangible connection to the past, a living testament to the city’s rich history.
Reaching the terraces, the panoramic view was nothing short of enchanting. Milan stretched out in all directions, a vibrant canvas of life and culture. The juxtaposition of ancient architecture against the backdrop of a modern cityscape created a visual symphony that left me in awe.
Inside the cathedral, the play of sunlight through stained glass bathed the space in a kaleidoscope of colors. The air was filled with a sense of reverence as I wandered through the vast interior, marveling at the intricate details of the chapels and the soaring arches above.
Duomo di Milano was not merely a structure; it was an immersive experience that transcended time. Each step carried me through centuries of history. Imagine, they spent over 6 centuries to build it! 😍Each glance revealed the artistry of those who had contributed to its creation. It was a day where the beauty of the view, the allure of the sculptures, and the richness of history converged, creating a memory etched in the tapestry of my traveling.
I definitely recommend to buy a tickets to the top 🔝 upstairs, it’s a pure beauty, combined with city view, which I explained above. :)

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Facts
Sharing some fun and interesting facts about this grand masterpiece - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II:
1. The main entrance is a monument in itself (and guess what I didn’t end up taking a photo with it, whoops…just means I have to go back).
2. Take a look at the floors of this magnificent building - they are truely remarkable and the central octagonal part of the gallery features the coats of arms of 4 Italian cities.
3. The roof of the gallery was completely destroyed during WWII and had to be completely restored.
4. Apparently, McDonald’s hasn’t been welcome here since 2012 (but you can find a chain of it just around the corner outside, which to @__marievi__ and my surprise was packed and had constant queues outside).
5. Did you know there is a gorgeous hotel situated inside the gallery, well there is! For those of you looking to book a special few nights in Milan, this place should definitely be on your radar.

An essential to visit in Milan is the so called Duomo di Milano, you can also visit the inside and get to the top of it to see the views. So amazing!
Right next to the Duomo there is the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which consists of luxury shops and several restaurants. A good place to spend the afternoon.
If you travel to Italy another must is to try some pasta, we opt for having dinner in a restaurant near the center. Spaghetti bolognese and carbonara, super top and good prices there!

Gothic Style Cathedral
Milan Cathedral, called Duomo di Milano in Italian, is a vast Gothic-style cathedral, located in the heart of Milan. It is 515 ft (157 metres) long and 302 ft (92 m) wide. It can house up to 40.000 people. Il Duomo di Milano is one of the largest Catholic churches in the world.
The site where the Cathedral is currently situated was previously occupied by the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio. In 838 the Basilica di Santa Tecla was founded next to the first church, but in 1075 a fire devastated both buildings and a few centuries later, the Duomo was established in the same location.
The construction of Milan Cathedral began in 1386, which coincided with Gian Galeazzo Visconti coming into power. The purpose of this impressive construction was to modernize the area and to celebrate the expansion of the Visconti territory. The Cathedral took five centuries to complete.

Luxury Shopping Heaven.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is an elegant nineteenth-century shopping arcade. It houses some of the most luxurious boutiques in Milan.
The structure built between 1865 and 1877 is formed by two arcades shaped like a Latin cross covered by a glass and iron dome. The Galleria is located between two of the main monuments in Milan: il Duomo and the Teatro alla Scala. In our opinion, this magnificent shopping arcade is one of the most interesting sights in Milan.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II contains brands such as Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, as well as other high-end boutiques. It also houses numerous well-decorated restaurants, including some of the oldest establishments of Milan such as Café Biffi, founded in 1867.
Getting There - By Metro: Duomo, lines 1 and 3. By Tram: Grossi S.Margherita, lines 1 and 2

Amazing Bosce Verticale in Milano
İn the Milano there was so many beautiful architectures , Bosce Verticale is also one of them. Nearby there is big park to walking around and there is a shopping mall. Whenever I want to live there , looks like so chilling place. Actually I gone to there with walking , so it was not so far from city center. But I really recommend to see this building. It was amazing 😍#milano #bosceverticale
An interesting surprise :D
I came across Duck Store while walking through the streets of Milan. This store is located 10 minutes walk from Milano Duomo. I was surprised that a store like this existed and I was interested, even though it was closed at that moment. Through the window, you could see that there were hundreds of species of ducks in the store, so I had to go back the next day. The shop is small, but really cool, and you can try your duck in the small sink near the entrance. Prices range from 11 euros for the most common ducks, to 40 for the larger ones. I noticed that this chain has its stores all over the world, so I'm looking forward to visiting more cities and taking various creative and cute ducks as a souvenir.#italy #milano #duckstore #niceplace

Definitely a must see for any coffee fan
Starbucks Roastery Milano is the best Starbucks I've been to so far. I definitely recommend a visit to this special place, although you should be prepared for a crowd that sometimes turns into a queue in front of the facility. There is a lot of place to sit down, but sometimes you need to sit at the bar when it is too crowded. The offer of drinks and food is unique and much larger than in any other (regular) Starbucks. You could say that everything is a little more fancy. Beautiful black cups as opposed to the standard white ones. Sandwiches with a richer taste, a better selection of cakes and there is also a gift shop that is bigger than the regular one. Coffee beans travel around you all the time since the production process happens exactly at the café.#starbucks #milano #coffee #mustsee
