Worth the two hours drive from Abashiri to this Shibazakura Takinoue Koen Park. The moss phlox was so much prettier than Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park. There is also free bus ride from the car park further down the park. The mixture of pink, purple and white moss on the hill was so pretty in the bright sunlight. Nice museum, Opens at 10 so perfect for an early morning visit. We didn't care too much for all the drawings. But the roof top garden was nice. They give you a map where it was also written that no photography. I hope foreigner will respect their rules. I'm sure even without photography, you can enjoy the art if you are really into anime and Doraemon fan. They also give a free show of 15-minute episodes of Doraemon.
