Thrills and Feasts: Conquering Timang Beach and Savoring Fresh Lobster
#indonesiatrip #yogjakarta #timangbeach #lobster #beach #outdoorfun
One of the highlights of our Yogyakarta trip was visiting Timang Beach, a hidden gem known for its rugged beauty. The journey to the beach was an adventure itself—we had to take a bumpy jeep ride from the village. The road was so rough, I felt like my organs were getting mixed up!
Once we arrived, we were greeted by the stunning view of the ocean. There's a man-powered gondola hanging over the crashing waves, but for those afraid of heights, like us, simply walking on the cliffside bridge offered breathtaking views of the wild sea.
After taking in the spectacular scenery, we made sure not to miss the chance to enjoy a fresh 🦞 meal at a local restaurant—it was incredibly affordable and delicious, a meal I still can't forget!
Glide for Thrills @ Timang 🚠
Timang Beach is a breathtaking gem on the famed for its thrilling “gondola” ride and made famous by its feature on Korean variety show Running Man.
Despite the 2 hour journey from Yogyakarta, I still wanted to see and experience for myself this “gondola”. To get there, I hired a private vehicle to take me to the town of Purwodadi, where I then transferred to a jeep to take me for the last 5km to Timang Beach. The jeep transfer is required due to the super bumpy and steep slopes leading to the beach (actually cliff).
Once there, I was awestruck by the “gondola”. Suspended high above the roaring waves, it offered a heart-pounding journey to the rugged Pulau Timang, where I was told that lobster fishermen fish for lobsters.
There were 2 options to cross over to Pulau Timang - take a round trip gondola for IDR 200k or a round trip suspension bridge walk for IDR 150k. I was told that if you wanted to take the gondola one way and walk back on the suspension bridge, it would cost IDR 350k as it was “managed by 2 different companies”. Being conscious of my wallet, I opted to just do a round trip on the Gondola.
Gliding across the azure waters, the panoramic views of the coastline and crashing waves below was simply mesmerizing. It was a short 10 to 15 seconds trip but The adrenaline rush was palpable. This exhilarating experience was well worth the time and money!
Once on Pulau Timang, I was rewarded with stunning vistas of the sea stretching to the horizon. This marked the perfect end to my expedition to Timang Beach!

To me, Hong Kong is a city that has so much to offer - culture, outdoors, nightlife, food and history! I want to travel to Hong Kong to go sneaker shopping in Mongkok, take the iconic Peak Tram, go visit the laid back Cheung Chau Island and...so much more!

Timang beach
Timang beach is the highlight of our trip to jogja. when you go to timang, please have a visit to lobsters pak sis. the price is affordable & the taste is good.
Indrayanti Beach
Indrayanti beach is a long stretch of sand lined with the ocean on one end and gazebos of restaurants, tiny shops and others on the other end. You can leisurely walk around and enjoy the beach in a pair of comfortable footwear.
In order to get there, one must travel to the city of Yogyakarta first. Then, it is advisable to either use your own car or rent a vehicle to drive to the beach because there are no public transportation that leads directly to the beach. It is quite easy to get to Indrayanti beach because the road leading there is already in good shape. The distance between Yogyakarta and Indrayanti beach is around 65.8 km, which means the drive would take around 2 hours.

SLILI BEACH
Gazebos and places to eat welcome you when you enter the Slili Beach area. When compared to other beaches, Slili Beach is one of the beaches that has a short coastline. The clean white sand of the beach adds to the beauty of the beach adjacent to this Sadranan Beach. This beach is quite quiet, suitable for visitors who want to relax. The coral rocks on the beach with small waves crashing against each other are also suitable for visitors who want to play in the water. This beach is also suitable for enjoying the beautiful sunrise and sunset. To support tourism, the facilities at Slili Beach are quite complete. Along the road in this beach area, there are many inns and places to eat. For those who want to clean up after swimming, at Slili Beach there are also toilets and prayer rooms available.

TIMANG BEACH YOGYAKARTA
Currently, Indonesia is being shocked by the news of the arrival of members of the Running Man variety show to Yogyakarta. Although the arrival schedule is not yet known, it has been confirmed that the two Running Man members Lee Kwang Soo and Jeon So Min will be filming in Yogyakarta on the "3 Sticker I Go" mission. The shooting location itself is quite surprising, because the producer chose Timang Beach which is quite far from urban areas. Timang Beach is located quite far from the city. You have to go to the Gunung Kidul area in the province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta to find this Timang Beach. The hallmark of this beach is the cable car (gondola) made of wood that connects Timang Beach with Timang Island which is quite far away. This gondola was originally used to transport the catches ofcal fishermen on Timang Island, to be delivered to Timang Beach. Previously, not many people knew about the gondola on this beach, but along with the development of technology (social media), people began to be interested in taking this train. Now, because it is considered a natural adrenaline tour, this cable car is one of the most sought after rides in Gunung Kidul, including by Running Man members #triplocal

JOGAN BEACH YOGYAKARTA
Twilight greeted us when YogYES arrived at Jogan Beach. Flanked by high cliffs typical of limestone mountains, Jogan Beach is like a contest, where river water descends from the mountain to meet the waves returning to sea. Of the dozens of beaches scattered along the 71 kilometers of Gunungkidul coast, Jogan Beach occupies a special position because of the presence of a waterfall that directly falls from the top of the cliff to the sea, reminiscent of McWay Beach Waterfall in California. So far, not many travelers know about Jogan Beach. Its location, which is just west of Siung Beach, is often forgotten by climbers who are motivated to embrace the beautiful Siung cliff. To reach Jogan Beach, it takes about two hours driving from Jogja. Along the smooth asphalt road, winding through the karst hills which are the remnants of the ocean millions of years ago. When we arrive at the Siung Beach Retribution Post, it means that Jogan Beach is close, because about 400 meters from the post, you will see a wooden sign indicating the direction to Jogan. Replacing smooth asphalt, the path becomes the next guide, taking you accompanied by two small rivers on the left side which will merge and turn into a waterfall. Unfortunately, its beauty can only be seen during the rainy season, while in the dry season the water discharge is very small, coupled with the activity of extracting water for the needs of the residents. To be able to enjoy the splash of water from the top of the cliff, we have to go down. There are two ways to go down, first with the canyoning technique aka rappeling at the waterfall. Of course, you need the right equipment and skills to do this. Second, tread the wet slippery slope. Fortunately, there are wooden handles to support the body. Even so, caution is mandatory because of the steep path. After the steep and slippery rocks, there is one more challenge left, we still have to pass through the reef inhabited by thousands of transparent colored #triplocal

INDRAYANTI BEACH YOGYAKARTA
Located in Wonosari, precisely east of Sundak Beach, Indrayanti Beach is a new beach in Yogyakarta. Indrayanti Beach has a beauty that is not inferior to other beaches around the Wonosari area. This beach is not too big, it makes the beach area not visited by many tourists so you can enjoy the natural beauty around the beach more calmly and maximally. Indrayanti Beach can be an alternative to beach tourism for you, because besides being treated to the beauty of the existing beaches, we can also enjoy food that can be purchased on the beach. There is a restaurant in the form of a gazebo that provides a variety of seafood and green lombok vegetables for visitors. The gazebo will give a more natural impression for you to enjoy the beach. Apart from restaurants on the beach, Indrayanti Beach also has facilities in the form of lodging and jetskis that can be used for visitors. The rates installed to enjoy these facilities are relatively affordable, to stay at the inn for one night, you will only be charged 350 thousand to 650 thousand where you will also get facilities to play jetski on the beach. The inn is directly on the beach so it is very interesting to directly see the beach view. Complete facilities including smooth road infrastructure Clean and white sand There is musical entertainment for visitors There is a life guard or officer on duty to guard and help when a visitor drowns Hotel by the beach #triplocal
#themeparks#nationalpark#lakes#beaches#infinitypool
It is an unusual natural scenery. It is a combination of waterfall and beach. Yup! It is a Jogan beach. The waterfall from Karst Hill flows to Jogan beach. It is as a plus point for it, because it is one and only beach which may has waterfall around Indonesia archipelago.
It will be a great spot for you to take some pictures of the beach and its environment around. Because, there is also a little cave that you can try to feel its amazing situation when you stand under it.
Jorgan Beach is located in Purwodadi Village, Tepus Subdistrict. It is about 70 km from Yogyakarta, so just ride your vehicle for about 2 hours.

Perched along the rugged coastline of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Timang Beach offers visitors a thrilling adventure unlike any other: the Timang Beach Gondola Ride. Set against the backdrop of crashing waves and towering cliffs, this heart-pounding experience is not for the faint of heart.
The journey begins at the beach's rocky shore, where adventurers board a traditional wooden gondola suspended high above the churning sea. Guided by experienced operators, the gondola traverses a precarious cable stretched across the ocean, offering panoramic views of the stunning coastline below.
As you glide across the azure waters, the salty sea breeze dances against your skin, heightening the sense of exhilaration and adventure. Below, waves crash against the jagged rocks, sending plumes of spray into the air.

Timang Beach with adrenaline gondola
Address: Jl. Pantai Sel. Jawa, Pantai, Purwodadi, Kec. Tepus, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55881, Indonesia
Timang is a small island and you need to ride a gondola to get there. The ride is an adrenaline challenge as you need to cross the ocean.
The gondola is the very traditional kind so you get the feeling of crazy & dangerous when on it.
Once you get to the island, you will enjoy the sound of the waves, birds and wind.
There is also a rope bridge to cross the ocean. However, this long bridge is really extreme too because there is no safety, we just rely on holding on to the left and right of the big rope which is very strong.
This beach is really very clean, the view is beautiful.
Overall, it's really suitable for people who like extreme challenges.
Radika Paradise Villa & Cottage
#hotelreview
This hotel has a unique & nice room, clean, good air conditioner, but maybe needs improvement on bed quality and lighting. Bathroom located in the outside bedroom. The view is good but not outstanding. Food quality is ordinary. The location of this hotel is near indrayanti beach. So that place are very good for stay and best for family vacation 💋
Timang Beach Gondola
The view and scenery are beautiful and so nice . One of the great place for wonderful Indonesia
#hiddengems
Timang Beach is a 3-hour driver from Yogyakarta in the region of Gunung Kidul.
Of course, most people come to the beach to try the Gondola.
I think Timang Beach is an interesting place to visit. The Gondola is something really different, and though expensive, is interesting to see and try.
Timang beach harbors steep cliffs, deep blue water, and harsh waves. What makes Timang Beach popular among other beaches is ironically not because of its nature. But rather, it is because of the local residents inhabiting the villages nearby.
Partly a fishing society, the locals made a mode of transportation to help them with fishing activities. This transportation is later known as the gondola.
I really enjoyed the Gondola.
Emersia hotel was really nice. Just that need to improve their breakfast and bathroom. other than that its nice.
Timang Beach and Gondola Ride
